  • The Adventures of Dawdle the Donkey: "Dawdle And The Birthday Party", in which Dawdle learns of the whole concept of birthdays, so she, Rola, and Archie decide to celebrate theirs.
  • The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius:
    • In "Hypno Birthday to You", Jimmy hypnotizes his parents into thinking that every day is his birthday, all for wanting a new chemistry set. At first, the parties his parents throw are a lot of fun, with even Jimmy's rivals Cindy and Libby enjoying themselves. A few parties in, however, things take a turn for the worse; in addition to everyone being utterly sick of partying (and cake), the party clown is unable to perform any new tricks, and Jimmy's parents run out of money to get presents and supplies. The result is a string of miserable parties that leaves the guests bored and unhappy, plus a bill of $1,695.00 from the clown the family hired, forcing Jimmy to Work Off the Debt scrubbing floors at summer school.
    • "Clash of the Cousins" takes place on Great Aunt Amanda's birthday. Trying to undo his reputation as the Neutron family's Black Sheep, Jimmy gives Amanda and his relatives presents, but his presents are sabotaged into exploding and Jimmy is given the blame. It is later revealed that Jimmy's infant cousin, Eddie, is an evil genius trying to destroy the Neutron family so he can inherit Amanda's fortune.
  • The Adventures of Puss in Boots:
    • "King Pickles" involves Puss trying to make Birthday Hater Kid Pickles enjoy his birthday.
    • "Remember Me Not" involves a "Maybe Birthday" for Puss in Boots; he's an orphan with no idea what his birthday actually is, so a random day has been decided.
  • Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog:
    • Momma Robotnik celebrates her birthday in "Momma Robotnik's Birthday". In this episode, Momma forces Robotnik to capture Sonic for her as her birthday present.
    • Two episodes of the series focus on Sonic's birthday; "Tails Prevails" and "Robotnikland". In the former, Tails builds a hover hangglider as a present for Sonic, and Robotnik tries to exploit Tails' Gadgeteer Genius talents by disguising himself as Professor Von Schlemmer and tricking him into building a machine to destroy Sonic. In the latter, Robotnik takes over an amusement park called Mobiusland and invites Sonic, locking him inside and reprogramming the rides to attack him and his friends.
  • The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode "Reptiles in the Rose Garden" takes place on Kootie Pie's sixteenth birthday in which she desires the entire USA, unhappy with the gifts Bowser got for her.
  • Adventure Time:
  • Amphibia: The entire series starts with Anne's birthday, since she's transported to Amphibia by a birthday gift she received. This is shown in the second episode, "Best Fronds".
  • Arthur:
    • Arthur celebrates his birthday on "Arthur's Birthday." Upon learning that Muffy has planned her birthday party for the same day as his, he finds a way to adapt.
    • Two seasons later in "D.W.'s Perfect Wish", D.W does not want to celebrate her fifth birthday, until Arthur shows her the fun year she's had.
    • "Prunella Gets it Twice" is about Prunella dealing with receiving two of the same doll for her birthday in less-than-gracious fashion. She does make amends, though.
    • "Surprise" is actually about Francine being surprised with the news that she's not invited to the bowling party being thrown for her older sister Katherine's sixteenth birthday. Francine plots to embarrass Katherine out of spite, but she thinks better of it.
    • As a sub-plot of "Shelter From the Storm", Ladonna has her ninth birthday and is worried her dad won't be able to show up.
    • In "The Rhythm and Roots of Arthur", Arthur, Buster, D.W., David, and Grandma Thora travel to Great Uncle Theo's farm in Ohio to celebrate his 85th birthday.
  • The Babaloos: “Kevin’s Surprise” revolves around the Babaloos having to deal with Kevin’s poorly-thought-out plan to give his mother a birthday surprise; unusually, it doesn’t actually take place on her birthday, but rather the night before.
  • Bad Dog had two birthday episodes.
    • "Berkeley Takes The Cake" has Penelope trying to keep Berkeley from eating her birthday cake, which Berkeley's apparently done with each Potanski birthday party.
    • "Bad Dad" has Berkeley going around town stealing whatever's on Little Vic's birthday list.
  • Bee And Puppy Cat has many:
    • In "Birthday", it's Bee's birthday and to celebrate, she takes Puppycat with her to an abandoned arcade she used to go to as a child.
    • (Continuing after "Birthday",) In "Game", Bee and Puppycat are sent to a cloud world and are tasked with destroying the evil eye, but it's much less a birthday episode because Bee just keeps bringing it up to get Puppycat to let her have fun.
    • In "Two Clown Noses", it's Crispin's birthday and it's also revealed that he hates his birthday because his family forgot one time. To celebrate, Bee takes him to a circus planet. Puppycat is also sick throughout the episode.
    • In "Did You Remember", it's Bee's birthday again and Puppycat hides cake everywhere to celebrate, although it was actually Bee's idea.
  • The Berenstain Bears:
    • Brother: "The Birthday Boy"
    • Sister: "Too Much Birthday"
  • Big City Greens:
    • The episode "Present Tense" is set on Remy's birthday.
    • Tilly's Companion Cube had his birthday celebrated in "Dolled Up".
  • The Biker Mice from Mars episode "Rocketh and Rideth" took place on Charley Davidson's birthday and even included a scene of the Biker Mice celebrating it with her.
  • Blue's Clues:
    • "Blue's Birthday" is about celebrating, well, Blue's Birthday.
    • An episode from the first season involves the gang celebrating Mailbox's birthday.
    • "Joe's Surprise Party" involves the gang celebrating Joe's birthday, and trying to keep it a surprise from Joe.
  • Blue's Clues & You!:
    • “Happy Birthday Blue!” is practically a remake of the original "Blue's Birthday" episode.
  • Bobby's World:
    • Bobby in "Bobby's Birthday Bash".
    • Martha in "Psycho Bobby".
  • Caillou:
    • Caillou: "Caillou's Birthday Present"
    • Grandpa: "Surprise Party"

  • Captain Planet and the Planeteers:
    • "Last of Her Kind": While it's not Linka's birthday yet, the fact that it's soon forms a big part of the plot. Wanting to blow her away with his present, Wheeler decides to get her an ivory necklace, oblivious to where ivory comes from. He's ashamed when events on the latest mission explain things to him.
    • The episode "Numbers Game" took place on Wheeler's birthday and had the Planeteers celebrate by going to an amusement park.
  • The ChalkZone episode "Lost In Chalk" took place on Snap's "birthday"- actually the anniversary of when he was first drawn and erased into ChalkZone. It involves Rudy and Penny trying to get to Snap's party from the fair, but end up getting lost on the way.
    • The episode "Gift Adrift" took place on Rudy's dad's birthday, where Rudy and his mom plan to give him a vacuum cleaner he really wants, but Rudy makes the mistake of hiding it in ChalkZone, where it plans on sucking up the entire zone as it's made from chalk dust.
  • Charlie's Colorforms City: In "Birthday Charlie", it's Charlie's birthday, but he forgot to invite people to his party.
  • On Chip and Potato, Chip has fifth birthday in "Chip's Birthday."
  • Codename: Kids Next Door:
    • There are plenty of episodes where it is one of The Delightful Children From Down The Lane's birthday and the KND try to take their cake.
    • "Operation: F.A.S.T.-F.O.O.D." takes place on Numbuh Three's birthday and has her birthday wish being that she leads a mission. The rest of the team humor her by making the mission obtaining a kids' meal, unaware that the fast food restaurant she finds is actually run by the greedy Chester and is a front for selling burgers made of children to sharks. Interestingly enough, Numbuh 3 also shares the same birthday as a young shark who brings his family to the restaurant where she nearly becomes their dinner.
  • On Creative Galaxy, "Mom's Birthday" involves just that, the birthday of Arty's mother, and Arty making a mosaic sculpture for her. "Arty's Art-y Party" is about Arty's birthday, and Arty making goody bags for his own party after his mother forgets to make them. "Dad's Birthday Breakfast", the premiere of the second season, is about Arty making his father breakfast in bed for his birthday.
  • Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
    • Daniel: "Daniel's Birthday"
    • Teacher Harriet: "Teacher Harriet's Birthday"
    • Prince Wednesday: "Daniel Gets a Cold" and "Prince Wednesday's Happy Birthday"
    • Margaret: Born in "The New Big Brother" and has a birthday in "Margaret's Birthday Buddy / Margaret's Birthday Party"
  • Dastardly & Muttley in Their Flying Machines has two. "Sappy Birthday" concerns Muttley's birthday, while "Happy Bird Day" has Dick Dastardly think it's the general's birthday and discovering it's his own.
  • DC Super Hero Girls (2019): "#HappyBirthdayZee" has Zee Zatara excited about her birthday and accidentally casting a spell that turns her friends into zombies disturbingly obsessed with throwing a party for her when she's convinced they don't care about her special day enough.
  • The Deputy Dawg Show:
    • "All Tuckered Out" takes place on Deputy Dawg's birthday, but he ends up so worn out from doing his duties that he sleeps through the celebration prepared by the sheriff, Muskie Muskrat, and Vincent Van Gopher.
    • "Home Cookin'" has Muskie Muskrat attempt to steal a pie that he assumes Deputy Dawg's wife baked for Deputy's birthday. After Muskie eventually gives up trying to steal the pie and wishes Deputy Dawg a happy birthday, Deputy explains to Muskie that it is actually Muskie's birthday.
  • Dexter's Laboratory:
    • The Dial M for Monkey segment had Monkey's birthday celebrated by the Justice Friends in the infamous "Barbequor" short, right around the time the earth is invaded by the titular Galactus ersatz. The other heroes are adamant that Monkey just relax on his birthday while they try to handle the threat by themselves, much to his annoyance.
    • The episode "Surprise!" took place on Dexter's birthday, and his determination to find out of his parents got him the present that he wanted, prompting him to turn himself invisible so he can follow his parents to the toy store when they went present shopping for him.
  • Dinosaur Train: On "Surprise Party", the Pteranodon Family plans a surprise birthday party for Buddy on the Dinosaur Train.
  • Doc McStuffins:
    • Hallie: "Hallie's Happy Birthday"
    • Buddy: "Chip Off the Ol' Box"
    • Donny: "Winded Winnie"
    • Boppy: "Bouncy House Boo-Boos"
  • Doug:
    • "Nickelodeon: Doug's Got No Gift".
    • "Disney: Doug's Last Birthday".
  • In the Dragon Tales episode "Ord's Unhappy Birthday" Ord is excited to celebrate his birthday, and his friends are ready to throw a surprise party, but their preparations for the party make Ord feel left out and forgotten.
  • The Grand Finale of DuckTales (2017) takes place on Webby's birthday, with the plot kicking off when it turns out her birthday party was a cover for a spy ring intent on infiltrating F.O.W.L. Webby, being Webby, is stoked to find this out.

  • The Dr. Zitbag's Transylvania Pet Shop episode "End of Season" takes place on the Exorsisters' birthday and has Zitbag trying to beat his rival Professor Sherman Vermin in giving the Exorsisters a better birthday present.
  • In the Esme & Roy episode, "Special Delivery", it's Sid's birthday, and Fig is tasked with giving Sid his present. However, Fig wants to keep the present for herself, and Esme and Roy have to find a way to get her to let it go.
  • The Fairly Oddparents: There are several birthday episodes, three of whom are for Timmy (who seems to stay 10 for the entire series) :
    • "Boys in the Band", had everyone forgetting Timmy's birthday in favor of Chip Skylark. At the end, it turns out Timmy's birthday was tomorrow, though 77 Secrets of the Fairly OddParents Revealed later said that it had been Timmy's birthday after all.
    • "The Boy Who Would Be Queen" centered around Trixie's birthday. In an effort to find her a gift, Timmy turns into a girl and ends up running into Trixie in a comic shop, where he learns she is both a Closet Geek and a Lonely Rich Kid.
    • "Totally Spaced Out" took place on Mark's birthday, where he returns to Earth to kidnap Vicky and bring her back for a birthday present.
    • "Birthday Wish," actually focuses on the birthday of Vicky's sister, Tootie, and how Timmy loans her his fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda, for the day.
    • Another is about Timmy's birthday and how he tries stopping it from happening after Jorgen points out that he's getting closer to losing his fairies.
    • By the time of Timmy's third birthday episode, called "Birthday Battle," it's revealed that Timmy and his new friend, Chloe Carmichael, share the same birthdate.
  • Family Guy
    • "Chitty Chitty Death Bang": Stewie turns 1. Peter screws up the planning for Stewie's birthday party, while Meg tries not to attend. Stewie murders a man he thinks is the doctor who delivered him.
    • "Peter's Two Dads": Meg asks for a birthday party, and it takes input from Chris for Lois and Peter to make a connection. They don't realize that Meg is turning 17. Francis Griffin is injured by Peter while Peter is performing as a clown. Francis dies from his injuries.
  • The Fanboy and Chum Chum episode "Present Not Accounted For" has Chum Chum's birthday being celebrated and Fanboy trying to find a present at the last minute to cover up the fact that he forgot his friend's birthday.
  • The Felix the Cat cartoon "Public Enemies One and Two" is revealed to be this at the end—despite what Felix thinks, Professor and Rock Bottom aren't out to do crimes that day, but meant to throw a surprise party for Felix, who had forgotten it was his birthday. Poindexter, Martin the Martian and even the Master Cylinder, usually the biggest threat in the series, joins in for the party.
  • An episode of The Flintstones has Fred getting wise to a surprise birthday party for him.
  • Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends has several such episodes. The birthdays celebrated in those episodes were Madame Foster ("Store Wars"), Mac ("The Bloo Superdude and the Great Creator of Everything's Awesome Ceremony of Fun That He's Not Invited To") and Bloo (Though Bloo's was in the short "Birthday Cake Bloos").
  • Franklin:
    • Franklin: Franklin's Birthday Party
    • Bear: Hurry Up Franklin
  • The theatrical short "Frozen Fever" has Elsa planning a perfect surprise birthday party for Anna, hoping to make up for the years they spent apart.
  • In "Peace and Quiet", the first episode of Garfield and Friends, Binky the Clown is hired to come to Edna Fogerty's house on her 97th birthday. However, Binky gets the address wrong and comes to Garfield's house instead, much to the ire of Garfield, who just wants to nap after watching TV all night. At the end of the episode, Garfield finds out it's also his birthday, and Jon has hired Binky to come to his house.
  • Gravedale High: "The Dress-Up Mess-Up" takes place on Max Schneider's birthday, with his class intending to show their appreciation for their teacher by taking him out to an expensive French restaurant. Unfortunately, Duzer irresponsibly spends all the money gathered on a dress she intends to wear for the school fashion show, and she ends up working at Snakey Pete's Burger Pit to try and get the money back after one of the fashion show's contestants sets off her snakes and makes them ruin the dress to the point that it can't be returned on account of wearing a live mongoose.
  • Gravity Falls:
    • The Grand Finale ends with the citizens of Gravity Falls celebrating Dipper and Mabel's birthday party (and the defeat of Bill Cipher) before the twins go back home at the end of summer.
    • According to Word of God, "Double Dipper" takes place during Stan and Ford’s birthday. The party Stan threw in the Mystery Shack was a roundabout way of celebrating it.
    • In addition, “Blendin’s Game” takes place on Soos’ birthday, but he initially doesn’t want to celebrate it, due to bad memories of his Missing Dad. But when Dipper and Mabel are challenged to Globnar by time traveller Blendin Blandin, they soon accept to win Soos a precious time wish for his birthday.
  • The Season 1 finale of Harvey Beaks celebrated not one birthday, but three birthdays. In the first segment, Harvey's 10th birthday is coming around the corner, but fears that he will no longer be able to have fun once he hits double digits. In the second segment, Harvey decides to give Fee and Foo their first ever birthday celebrations, which results in a massive Continuity Cavalcade as nearly every character who had appeared on the show to that point comes to the party.
  • Hey Arnold!:
    • Grandpa Phil celebrates his 81st birthday in "Grandpa's Birthday". He dreads this because he believes in a family curse wherein the male relatives of his family die as soon as they turn 81. On the eve of his 81st birthday, Phil awakens alive and well, and after doing some math based on Phil's family history, Arnold points out that his relatives died at age 91, meaning Phil has another decade left to live.
    • Eugene celebrates his birthday in "Eugene's Birthday". He goes through several failed parties, as in the first, only Arnold went to his first one since Arnold had accidentally mixed up the invitations with Harvey's cold cuts. When Arnold tries to throw a makeup party at the aquarium with Gerald, the other kids don't attend since Sid and Stinky, who were responsible for inviting the other kids, got the venue wrong and had a party at the roller rink. Finally, when Arnold sets up a third party with the other kids, Eugene refuses to attend because he worries that the third party will just be a screw-up just like the last two. He eventually comes arond and shows up, only for the party to be rained out, but he expresses his gratitude towards Arnold for making such an effort to make him happy.
  • The Hotel Transylvania: The Series episode "Fangceañera" takes place on Mavis Dracula's 115th birthday, where she desires to accomplish a dangerous task from the Wheel of Destiny so she can win her Dracula family cape, but an overprotective Drac ruins her plans.
  • In the Jimmy Two-Shoes episode "Happy Birthday Lucius", Jimmy needs to give Lucius the best birthday ever when the celebrated one loses his voice. Unfortunately, Jimmy also wants to make everyone else at the party happy which makes Lucius miserable.
  • JoJo's Circus: Tater's birthday is celebrated in "Happy Birthday, Tater" and the episode has JoJo and her friends making various attempts to wake him and his parents up so they won't miss the surprise party.
  • Justice League: Unlimited has Superman's birthday in "For the Man Who Has Everything".
  • KaBlam!:
    • In the Henry and June wraparounds from "More Happiness Than Allowed By Law!", the duo celebrate their birthday as it marked the anniversary of when they were first drawn (the episode however aired a month before the show's actual anniversary). The main plot had June getting Henry a present, but forgot hers, despite it being on the same day.
    • The TV special Life With Loopy's Birthday Gala-Bration had Henry and June hosting a gala event for Loopy's birthday as the wraparounds, and the majority of the special was a Clip Show compilation that showcased previous Life With Loopy shorts (as well as one new short, "Send In The Clones", which would air a month later on the third season premiere of KaBlam!).
    • Prometheus celebrates Bob's birthday in the Prometheus and Bob short, "Bob's Birthday".
  • Kaeloo: Episode 191, titled "Let's Play Multibirthday", is about Kaeloo learning that Stumpy has never celebrated his birthday since he was five and giving him a "multibirthday" to make up for those birthdays.
  • Let's Go Luna!:
    • "Guitar to Sitar" takes place during Carmen's mother's birthday. The episode's main conflict is that Carmen wants to play her mother a birthday song, but she can't due to the strings on her guitar breaking.
    • In "Gaja's Birthday", the gang revisits Delhi, India to attend Gaja's 10th birthday party.
  • Lilo & Stitch: The Series:
    • The episode "Amnesio" centers around Lilo's birthday, but no one seems to remember. While she and Stitch hand out invitations for their own party, they encounter Gantu as well as an experiment (with the same name as said episode title) that gives people amnesia. All three of them try to catch Amnesio, which causes them to lose their memories of each other. Now thinking that her name is Martha, Stitch is an escaped convict, and Gantu is her partner cop named Lenny, Lilo teams up with him to hunt down Stitch and find clues to their lost memories.
    • Mertle celebrates her birthday in "Holio", while she celebrates her half-birthday in "Houdini".
  • Little Bear:
    • Little Bear: "Birthday Soup"
    • Mother Bear: "A Present for Mother Bear"
    • Hen: "Emily's Balloon"
    • Emily: "Emily's Birthday"
    • Grandpa Bear: "Little Bear and the Ice Boat"
  • Little Bill:
    • Fuchsia: "The Birthday Present and The Birthday Party".
    • April: "Happy Not Birthday to You". It's not actually her birthday. It's more like a cheer up party after she lost her basketball championship.
  • Little Princess has two of these. In "I Want to Cook", it's the General's birthday and the Princess wants to make the cake, and in "I Want a Surprise", it's the Princess's birthday.
  • Looped: In "Birthday Cake Island", Luc is unhappy with the idea that due to the Loop, his birthday will never come. As a result, Theo decides to take him to the titular island, which is on a different timezone, so he can celebrate it.
  • The Loud House:
    • In "No Spoilers", it's Rita's birthday, and since Leni has a bad habit of spoiling surprise parties, Lincoln and the rest of his sisters try to keep her away. When they try to throw a party without Leni's involvement, it turns out to be a disaster, and only Leni knows everything that their mom likes; her favorite colors, food, dessert, family, and friends.
    • In "Present Tense", it's Lynn Sr.'s birthday. Lincoln and his sisters work on a scrapbook as a birthday present, but when Lori shows a picture of what Carol Pringley got her dad for his birthday, they worry that their scrapbook isn't a good enough present, so they go to the Royal Woods Mall to seek out the perfect birthday present.
    • Lola and Lana celebrate their seventh birthday in "Strife of the Party". It's revealed that Lola has planned the birthday parties every year, so Lana wants to plan it this year. Lola does everything she can to sabotage Lana's plans, and when she succeeds, she hurts Lana's feelings and has to make things right for her.
    • The Season 6 premiere "Present Danger" celebrates Lincoln's twelfth birthday. When his dad and paternal grandpa's gift for him mysteriously vanishes, Lincoln decides to investigate in the style of his favorite fictional spy, David Steele.
    • The Season 7 episode "Bye Bye Birthday" celebrates Lucy's ninth birthday. However, Lucy is completely embarrassed by her birthdays because the Louds always go all out, so she casts a spell the day before to make them forget, but she soon misses the kind things they do for her and has to cast a new spell to make them remember.

  • The Magic Roundabout:
    • The original series celebrates three birthdays: Dylan, Ermintrude, and Florence.
    • The CGI reboot series has Basil and Coral's birthdays celebrated in the episode "Florence's Squeaky Toys". In the episode, Florence has ordered some toys for her two friends, but confusion arises when the deliveries are mixed and Dougal hides the toys.
  • The Magic School Bus:
    • Ms. Frizzle in "Gets Ready, Set, Dough".
    • Dorothy Ann in "Sees Stars". Unfortunately, she was sick on her birthday.
  • Martha Speaks has several of these.
    • Martha's adoption anniversary is treated like a birthday in "Martha's Chair"
    • Mariella has a birthday as a subplot of "Martha Runs the Store"
    • Grandma Lucille has a birthday in "Martha Says it With Flowers"
    • Alice Boxwood has a birthday in "Martha Takes the Cake"
    • In the episode "Martha's Worst Best Day", Helen's grandfather, Bernie, has his birthday.
  • Max and Ruby:
    • Max: "Max's Birthday"
    • Ruby: "Surprise Ruby", "Ruby' Birthday Party" and "Presents"
    • Grandma: "Bunny Cakes", "Party" and "Money"

  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse:
    • Minnie has a birthday while Mickey and the rest help the viewer prepare her Surprise Party in "Minnie's Birthday".
    • In the special "Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland", Daisy's birthday is approaching when a cuckoo bird in its clock, which is Mickey and Donald's present, accidentally escapes, leading the duo into having an Alice in Wonderland-esque adventure.
    • The clubhouse's mechanical helper, Toodles, has a birthday in "Happy Birthday Toodles". He gains a face and towards the end, a voice.
    • The titular character has a birthday in "Mickey's Happy Mousekeday".
  • The Mighty B! has a triple.
    • Penny: "An I See Bee"
    • Portia: "Ten Little Honeybees"
    • Bessie: "It's B's Party"
  • The Mike, Lu & Og episode "The Great Snipe Hunt" took place on Og's birthday.
  • Milly, Molly has two.
  • Milo Murphy's Law: In "Party of Peril", Zack and Melissa throw Milo a surprise party for his birthday, even though the last time his family tried to throw him a party "it did not end well," thanks to Milo's outrageously bad luck.
  • Miraculous Ladybug: This show likes to do episodes taking place on a character's birthday.
    • Season 1: The Bubbler (Adrien's birthday), Timebreaker (Alix's 15th birthday), and The Evillustrator (Nathaniel's birthday).

    • In "Sweet and Elite", Twilight's birthday serves as a backdrop for Rarity's climbing Canterlot's social ladder.
    • "Secret of My Excess" is about Spike's first birthday in Ponyville, during which his dragon greed instincts are triggered by all the presents he gets.
  • "The Case of the Invisble Visitor", an episode of The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog, takes place on Cynthia's birthday.
  • The Ned's Newt episode "New Year's Ned", which reveals that Ned was born on New Year's. As a result, he was declared the town's official New Year's Baby, which he has to remain in spite of him no longer being a baby until another baby is born around the same time. You can imagine how humiliating that becomes, and makes you wonder why the town keeps doing it.
  • In The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, the episode "Monkey See, Monkey Do Better" seemingly centers around Christopher Robin's birthday. Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit and Piglet find a giant present in his room, revealing a toy monkey called Bruno, who brags that he is the best present anyone can have. Pooh and his friends make it their goal to show Christopher what they can all do. Eventually, it's revealed that it's not Christopher Robin's birthday, and he had bought Bruno for a friend of his.

  • The Powerpuff Girls:
    • The original series' has "Birthday Bash", in which three of the girls' imprisoned foes send them booby-trapped gifts.
    • "Super Sweet 6" of The Powerpuff Girls (2016) involves Princess Morbucks hosting a huge 6th birthday party. Everyone in town but Blossom is invited.
  • Punky Brewster: Punky is out to win a new easy chair for Henry's birthday.
  • Quack Pack: Huey, Dewey and Louie attempt to throw a surprise party for their uncle Donald in "Ducky Dearest", but their sneakiness makes Donald paranoid that his nephews are doing illegal things behind his back, so he consults the advice of a con man preying on overly paranoid parents named Dr. Chuck Homer.
  • Ready Jet Go!:
    • "Mindy's Moon Bounce House" for Mindy, even though she seemed to have stayed the same age.
    • "Earthday Birthday", even though it is about the anniversary that Jet landed on Earth, and not an actual birthday.
    • Mindy has her fifth birthday in "Mindy Turns Five," and is finally allowed to go to space with the others.
  • The Real Ghostbusters:
    • "Slimer, Come Home" takes place on Winston Zeddemore's birthday and has Slimer run from home after Peter Venkman chews him out for devouring Winston's birthday cake. After Slimer returns home, they do a quick make-up party and prepare for Slimer eating the other cake by having a back-up cake prepared.
    • The Slimer! short "Cash or Slime" has Slimer go shopping to get a birthday present for his friend Chilly Cooper.
  • Recess had two: "Randall's Friends" (Randall's birthday) and "Bonky Fever" (Mikey's birthday).
  • The Regular Show episode "Free Cake" revolves around Mordecai and Rigby setting up a birthday party for Skips, but only so they could have free chocolate cake. In trying to get Skips to the party, they interrupt a ritual that gives him eternal life, and have to sacrifice the cake to save him.
  • Rolling with the Ronks!: "Birthday Bashed" involves Flash introducing the concept of birthdays to the Ronks and Mila wanting her first birthday celebration to be the best party possible.
  • Rosie's Rules: It's Abuela's birthday in "Abuela's Birthday," which involves Rosie attempting to mail a party to her in Mexico City.
  • Rugrats:
    • The first episode of the original series, not counting the pilot, focused on Tommy's first birthday.
    • Angelica's birthday is also the plot of a later episode. She worries about growing older and tries to act like a baby.
    • The series finale featured Kimi's birthday.
    • The spin-off, All Grown Up! has an episode that revolves around Angelica's birthday again, but now she's turning thirteen. The school Alpha Bitch deliberately schedules a party on the same day as Angelica's to teach her a lesson.
    • Charlotte celebrates her 40th birthday in the 2021 reboot episode, "Tot Springs Showdown", though she's insecure about revealing her age at the party at first.
  • Scooby-Doo
    • The Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo Show episode "Scrappy's Birthday" was about the birth of Scooby's nephew, with the framing device consisting of Scooby and Shaggy celebrating Scrappy's birthday with him.
    • The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries had a birthday episode in "Happy Birthday, Scooby-Doo", where it was Scooby's birthday and he's being feted with a "This Is Your Life"-style TV ceremony.
    • The What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode "A Terrifying Round with a Menacing Metallic Clown" briefly brings up Velma's birthday when she and the gang were kids, and it explains why she's afraid of clowns.
  • Sid the Science Kid
    • On "I Want Cake" It's Sid's birthday and he wishes to have cake everyday.
  • The Simpsons:
    • "Radio Bart" starts with Bart's birthday at a Suck E. Cheese's. He thinks that it sucks, but Homer helps him to see the merit of the radio and microphone that he got him...
    • In "Life in the Fast Lane", Homer gives Marge a bowling ball for her birthday—despite the fact that she doesn't bowl. He even got it inscribed with his name, on the assumption that she'd give it to him to use. She takes up bowling just to spite him, claiming that Homer is the name of her ball.
    • In the Michael Jackson episode, "Stark Raving Dad", Lisa turns 8. Nobody pays attention. In the end, Michael Jackson/Leon Kompowsky & Bart write a song for her. The same episode has a Show Within a Show example; the The Itchy & Scratchy Show episode that Bart and Lisa watch, "Bang the Cat Slowly" has Itchy celebrate Scratchy's birthday by giving a bomb as a present.

  • The Snorks:
    • "The Day They Fixed Junior Wetworth" is about Casey's birthday.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants:
    • Pearl celebrates her 16th birthday in "Whale of a Birthday", and it is revealed that she has to deal with Mr. Krabs throwing her the cheapest birthday parties every year. SpongeBob turns things around for her by buying her everything she wants with Mr. Krabs' credit card.
    • SpongeBob has to go to his grandma's birthday in "Pet Sitter Pat" so he goes leaving Gary in Patrick's care. Of course, Hilarity Ensues.
    • SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout, produced for the show's 20th anniversary (and the third TV Movie overall). In this special, SpongeBob and Patrick tour the surface world meeting up with the live-action versions of themselves played by their voice actors, while the rest of Bikini Bottom prepares a surprise party for SpongeBob.
  • Subverted on Star vs. the Forces of Evil. Star doesn't celebrate on her actual birthday, because it falls on the same day as "Stump Day". Anything that detracts from Stump Day will make The Stump angry. (Even though most adults know that The Stump is just a myth.)
    • An earlier episode, “Brittney’s Party” features Brittney Wong’s birthday party aboard a party bus, which Star and Marco (as well as Ludo and his monsters) end up crashing.
  • Star Wars Resistance: One of the reveals in "Rendezvous Point" is that it's Torra's birthday, and that she and her father were attempting to reunited with her mother like they've done for the past six years since Venisa joined the Resistance. Although the Dozas don't reunite since there's a war on, Kaz and the Aces make Torra a birthday cake to try and cheer her up.
  • Steven Universe:
  • Take Care's episode in Stoppit and Tidyup is an odd example where literally everyone in Do As You're Told celebrates their birthday on the same day, treating it like a holiday.
  • Summer Memories: The episode "Surprise! We ruined your birthday!", Tim's birthday is coming up, and he tells Jason that he doesn't want a surprise party. Jason interprets this as Tim wanting a party and thinking he's being modest, and putting one together with Ronnie, despite Tim's protests.
  • The lost season of Superfriends (referring to the third season of the 1980 iteration of the series, which initially aired overseas and did not reach American airwaves until around a decade after Super Friends ended its run) had a segment titled "Invasion of the Space Dolls", where the Super Friends celebrated the sixth birthday of the Wonder Twins' pet monkey Gleek, whose present turns out to be one of the titular space dolls.
  • Teacher's Pet had two episodes taking place on a character's birthday.
    • "Let Sleeping-Over Dogs Lie" takes place on Ian Wazselewski's birthday and has Spot/Scott and Leonard having their first sleepover at his house.
    • "Party Animals" takes place on Leonard's birthday and has Spot wanting to arrange a surprise party for his owner in spite of Leonard's objections that things might go wrong and his guests will resent him as a result.
    • In the episode "All About Eavesdropping", it is Leslie's birthday and Scott and Leonard put on a magic act for her before they hide in her bedroom's closet to eavesdrop on Leslie and the other girls to try and find out what they want from boys.
  • Teen Titans has this for Raven in "Birthmark", where Raven dreads her birthday, since a prophecy says it would start the Apocalypse. Raven has good reason to believe she'll be the cause, seeing as her father Trigon is a dimension-conquering demon, and wants her to act as his portal.
  • Teen Titans Go! has at least five episodes revolving around birthdays" "BBBDAY!" (revolving around Beast Boy's birthday, which nobody else wanted to celebrate), "BBSFBDAY!" (another one involving Beast Boy's birthday, except this time he tries sharing it with Starfire), ""BBCYFSHIPBDAY!" (revolving around the birthday of Beast Boy and Cyborg's friendship), "BBRBDAY!" (in which Robin throws his own birthday party to get back at Beast Boy for not inviting him into his own party), and "BBRAEBDAY" (in which Raven celebrates her "Sinister Sixteen", along with Beast Boy's birthday).
  • The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had two: "Michelangelo's Birthday" (which involved Michelangelo's) and "Mr. Nice Guy" (which took place during Raphael's).
  • Thomas & Friends:
    • Lady Hatt celebrates her birthday in "Lady Hatt's Birthday Party". Sir Topham Hatt promises to attend her birthday spic and span and right on time, but one disaster after another leaves him with a ruined and muddy suit. Thankfully, he makes it to the party on time, and the guest are quick to make good humor of his adventure.
    • Sir Topham Hatt celebrates his birthday in "Happy Birthday Sir!". In this episode, Thomas and Winston set out to find a carriage that Sir Topham Hatt rode in every year on his birthday when he was young.
  • In the Time Squad episode "Love at First Flight", Tuddrussel and Larry manage to throw Otto the best birthday party he's ever had, they even give him his own Time Squad uniform as a present.
    • There was also another birthday episode in Horse of Horrors where Larry is the one with the birthday, even though Tuddrussell keeps callously insisting that robot’s are exempt from birthdays.
  • Tiny Toon Adventures:
    • Montana Max celebrates his birthday in the short, "Sleight of Hare" (part of "You Asked For It"). He hires a magician, and Buster has a job as the magician's rabbit. When Monty's bratty behavior causes the magician to quit, Buster takes over for the magician to get back at Monty for costing him his job.
    • The short, "A Bacon Strip" (part of "The Acme Acres Zone") is revealed to be this for Hamton at the end. It turns out to be a Birthday Suit Surprise Party when Plucky tells Hamton that it was his job to distract him by making him skinny-dip at the pool of Montana Max's mansion while he and his friends set up the party.
    • Hamton celebrates his birthday again in the short, "Happy Birthday Hamton" (part of "Playtime Toons"). When Buster, Babs, and Plucky want to keep the toys they bought Hamton for themselves, they decide to give Hamton some of their old toys, but their childhood memories of those toys soon come flooding back to them, and they convince Hamton to trade for the new toys. At the end of the short, Hamton tells the viewers that it isn't really his birthday.
  • Totally Spies!:
    • "Evil Hair Salon" has the spies' boss, Jerry, celebrating his birthday, but while thinking of a way to surprise him, the girls spend the majority of the episode investigating a chain of hair salons owned by an evil wig maker who has been kidnapping women across the globe, including Clover, to make their hair grow to ridiculous proportions to the point it sucks the life out of them and needing the excess hair to make her wigs. By the time the girls have finished their mission, coming to learn the mastermind behind the salons was bald, the only thing they could do was surprise Jerry with a present, with it being one of the wigs they picked up from the salons. Jerry soon reveals to the girls he hates surprises.
  • Transformers: Animated: The episode "Sound And Fury" takes place on Sari's birthday.
  • The Transporters: One episode focuses on Barney having a Not-So-Forgotten Birthday.
  • T.U.F.F. Puppy:
    • In "Operation: Happy Birthday", Dudley is determined to give Kitty the best birthday of her life, despite the fact that they have to stop Snaptrap, who is plotting to rid the world of cheese with a giant cheese magnet (due to his cheese allergy).
    • Dudley celebrates his birthday in "Quacky Birthday". In this episode, Quacky the Duck creates a restaurant/arcade called Duck E. Cheese's for Dudley's party, and once the T.U.F.F. agents are inside, he plans to lock them in and blow them up with dynamite. However, Dudley manages to save T.U.F.F. and arrest him.
  • In the The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald episode, "Birthday World", it's Ronald's birthday, and Hamburglar forgets to get a gift. He later brings the gang to a dilapidated theme park run by Professor Pinchworm, a Mad Scientist out to take over the world by turning the world's population into babies.
  • Wander over Yonder celebrates Lord Hater's birthday the episode "The Birthday Boy". Wander's insufferable cheeriness makes it hard for Lord Hater to get what he really wants for his birthday: to see Wander cowering in fear.
  • What's with Andy? had the episode "Gooey Chewies", where Andy and Danny are invited to Lori's birthday party, but unfortunately she disallows pranks and her birthday falls on April Fool's Day.
  • WordGirl: Becky has two episodes where her birthday is celebrated; "Becky's Birthday" and "A World Without Word Girl".
  • Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!:
    • Wubbzy's birthday is celebrated in "Perfecto Party" and "Big Birthday Mystery".
    • Widget's birthday is celebrated in "Dash for Dolly".
