Go To

K.O.'s birthday wish is to spend the day with just Rad and Enid, and with the plaza suddenly empty, it appears to come true.

Tropes:

  • Ageless Birthday Episode: Even though K.O. has his birthday in this episode, he is still 6-11 years old. In fact, he turned 6-11 in this episode.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: K.O. wishes that he could spend the day alone with his friends Rad and Enid, and he worries that it came true and made everyone else in the plaza disappear.
  • The Birds And The Bees: A nature documentary that Rad and Enid were watching is joined by the narrative just after a bee finishes pollination.
  • Birthday Episode: In this episode, it's K.O.'s birthday.
  • Chirping Crickets: Crickets are heard, and a tumbleweed rolls by, when K.O. investigates Beardo's food truck, the frame store, Carol's dojo, and Mr. Logic's barber shop and discovers they're all empty.
  • Crystal-Ball Scheduling: The documentary on a lonesome hero that Enid, Rad and K.O. watch at the beginning of the episode.
  • Deranged Animation: The hallucination sequence in the break room has some of the most bizarre visuals in the entire show. Some of the facial expressions before then are pretty freaky as well.
  • Disney Acid Sequence: Trapped in the break room, K.O., Rad and Enid go crazy and start having hallucinations.
  • "Everyone Is Gone" Episode: The bulk of the episode involves the Plaza being inexplicably abandoned, apparently due to K.O.'s wish.
  • Go Mad from the Isolation: K.O., Rad, and Enid go crazy when they believe they're the only people left in the plaza due to K.O.'s birthday wish.
  • Meat-O-Vision: K.O. hallucinates that Rad has turned into a hot dog and eats him, then is wracked with guilt that he ate his best friend, while Enid leaves to prevent getting eaten as well. Fortunately, it was all just a fever dream.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: The German accented narrator in the documentaries Rad and Enid are watching is a spoof of Werner Herzog.
  • Shout-Out: The jingle from The Jetsons plays when K.O. visits Rad's home.
  • Through the Eyes of Madness: Enid, Rad and K.O. experience this due to their loneliness after they get locked in the stockroom of Gar's. They snap out of it immediately when the rest of the Plaza community show up for K.O.'s surprise party.
  • Unexpectedly Abandoned: The residents of Lakewood Plaza clear out for the day so that K.O.'s birthday wish can be fulfilled.
