Liella!

     Group Songs
  • Liella! won over a lot of fans with the release of their debut single, "Hajimari wa Kimi no Sora" (The Beginning Is Your Sky), with fans noting how the voice actresses harmonize really well. Fans are also praising Sayuri Date's (Kanon's voice actress) solo part in the song, with some citing it as their favorite part.
  • "Dancing Heart La-Pa-Pa-Pa!" is a catchy track that evokes the feeling of excitement for a brand new adventure.
  • "Watashi no Symphony" shows off strong solos and harmonization from the girls. Since its release, it has been re-arranged several times to great reception, most notably becoming the first first-generation song to include/welcome each of the newer generations of the cast, giving it great emotional impact as well.
  • "START!! True dreams", the anime opening, features strong vocals backed by marching beats as if you're witnessing a brand new adventure. Another great opening from the Love Live franchise.
  • "Dakara Bokura wa Narasunda!", the B-side to "START!! True dreams", doesn't disappoint either with its instrumental making it a fun song to listen to.
  • "Mirai wa Kaze no You ni", the anime ending, is a catchy song filled with nostalgia. Besides the girls' amazing solos, the instrumental is good in its simplicity especially the guitar solo before the bridge.
  • "Kono Machi de Ima Kimi to", the B-side to "Mirai wa Kaze no You ni", is a genre throwback to 90's anison with strong vocals and a simple melody.
  • "Mirai Yohou Hallelujah!" showcases Sayuri Date's vocal prowess backed by the other members of Liella!. Just goes to show that Love Live picked the best person from the open auditions to voice Kanon.
  • "Tiny Stars" is just breathtakingly beautiful with how the story arc, the characters and the performance all came together and cemented KuuKaa as fan favorites in the entire franchise!
  • "Wish Song", the insert song from Season 1 Episode 8, is a powerful, moving song that showcases each member's range beautifully.
  • GALAXY!!! "Nonfiction!!", the insert song from Season 1 Episode 10, is part rap, part swing but all parts awesome. Like "Tiny Stars", everything from Season 1 Episode 10 came together perfectly for this song in a genre seldom seen in the franchise. The new version debuted during Liella's 5th live tour manages to literally bring it up to eleven, with the extra cast members allowing for a grander, more complex choreography without taking any of the spotlight away from Sumire.
  • Anyone who wants a more conventional take on Hip-Hop than "Nonfiction!!" should listen to "Day1".
  • "What a Wonderful Dream!!" took the audience by surprise by being Liella!'s first live-action music video, following in the footsteps of Aqours' "DREAMY COLOR". The video makes great use of the anime's real-life locations, and the song itself is bright and full of anticipation for the group's future, as well as once again showing off the cast's harmonizing vocals.
  • From the same album, there is "Unison" with its striking use of the ticking clock and its theme of time moving forward. It's a wistful and beautiful song, made more poignant for being released just ahead of the announcement of the second-generation cast, as if to reassure the fans that they won't lose what's come before as they embrace something new.
  • "Shooting Voice!!", Liella!'s contribution to the franchise's All Night Nippon Gold radio theme songs, captures the heart right away with a goosebump-inducing a cappella intro, and only gets better from there.
  • The second season opening, "WE WILL!!", takes up right from the end of the first season, proudly and passionately declaring Liella!'s resolve to fight and win Love Live! for the sake of the people who support them.
  • "Yuragu wa" (Flickering) is the first song to put the second-generation members front-and-center. It combines hard rock with piano sections and its performances always evoke darkness and flames, making it a perfect contrast with...
  • "Irozuite Toumei" (A Clear Change Of Color), its counterpart in their split single, with a more classic Liella! style and a crystal-clear sound that reminds one of a frozen winter landscape.
  • "Vitamin SUMMER! " is a high energy, incredibly catchy, crazy fun song to listen to.
  • "POP TALKING" is part song, part conversation, capturing the essence of a fun and carefree day out among girlfriends.
  • "Sing! Shine! Smile!" is the quintessential school idol song, with its lyrics capturing the essence of what being a school idol is all about — the happiness found when members join, the sadness that accompanies when failing, the sleepless nights over the unknown, the words they want to tell with their lyrics and of course, sharing the same dream with your friends.
  • "Mirai no Oto ga Kikoeru" (I Can Hear The Sound Of The Future) starts off with a tropical-sounding guitar intro before the band is joined by an orchestra, and the music swells and grows into something grand and inspiring. Fitting for the song that wins Liella! the Love Live! finals.
  • "Hoshizora Monologue" (Starry Sky Monologue) is a low-key, nostalgic ballad by the first-generation members, full of emotion as they reminisce over shared memories.
  • "Including you" is an airy and wistful song dedicated to Sunny Passion and how much they inspired Liella! to follow the path they did, and fittingly has Keke as the center.
  • Liella!'s second live-action music video, "Second Sparkle", showcases the group's impeccable dance skills to a stylish symphonic rock tune. In fact, the dancing is so good they released an accompanying video showing the full dance routine, and it is every bit as impressive as the MV suggests.
  • "Jump Into the New World" is Liella!'s first song with all three generations and eleven members, with a catchy beat and a complex dance sequence in the middle.
  • "Shekira☆☆☆", the theme song for Liella!'s fifth concert tour, is a fast-paced, jazzy piece with a callback to "Unison"'s clock motif. It's also the first Liella! single to top the weekly Oricon and Billboard Japan charts, and the first in the Love Live! franchise to do so since 2019.

     Solo & Sub-Unit Songs
  • "Aozora o Matteru" (Waiting for Clear Skies) traces Kanon's feelings at the start of her story, with her singing to her love of singing itself and how much she futilely tried to deny it in the face of her own doubts, when her heart really longed to embrace it again.
  • "Free Flight", on the other hand, is Kanon at the end of Season 2, having come to terms with what she wants and finally able to embrace her dream with optimism. It's also a difficult song with really high notes, making it impressive that Sayuri Date can manage to sing it live.
  • Keke's "Mizuiro no Sunday" (Sky-Blue Sunday) represents her character perfectly, being bright, catchy, and full of hope and excitement even for the little things in life.
  • Keke's "Hoshikuzu Cruising" (Stardust Cruising) and Sumire's "Starry Prayer" are very clearly sung to each other, showcasing the deep bonds they've formed over the most dramatic moments of both Superstar!! seasons.
  • Chisato's first solo "Yuuki no Kakera" (Fragments of Courage) stands out with a surprising retro 80's style, and shows off both Nako Misaki's beautiful voice and dance experience.
  • "Flyer's High" follows up with a similar retro dance style, this time coupled with lyrics pushing you to fearlessly reach ever higher and further. Though the song was released before Season 2, its message fits perfectly with Chisato's response to Kanon's reluctance to study abroad.
  • "Reverb", Ren's first solo, is a lovely classical ballad full of warm memories and dedicated to her mother.
  • "Midnight Rhapsody" is a refreshing change from Ren's usually slower songs, being very upbeat and jazzy and showing off her voice's strength instead of its gentleness. The ambiguity over whether the song is referring to an amorous nighttime encounter or her newfound love for videogames just makes it more fun.
  • Mei's and Shiki's first solos, "Akane Gokoro" (Red Heart) and "Glass Ball Rejection", individually have lyrics that perfectly match their characters and show off the actresses' strengths, but are also noted for having musically identical bridges, reflecting the bond between them.
  • Both of Wien Margerete's singles, "Butterfly Wing" and "Edelstein", are darkly powerful songs that showcase her strong voice and determination. It takes a lot to rival Liella! as a solo idol, and these songs prove her to be a credible threat.
  • Catchu!'s "Alternate" is just maximum power and passion from Liella!'s vocal powerhouses, and never fails to floor first-time audiences.
  • "Fukashi na Blue" (Invisible Blue) from KALEIDOSCORE goes in the opposite direction to great effect, with an elegant, ephemeral melody and smoothly harmonizing vocals.
  • Meanwhile, 5yncri5e! takes all the dancing the other two sub-unit's didn't do and pours it all into the lively and catchy "Dancing Raspberry"note  and the more seductive "A Little Love". The songs themselves are good, but it's the dance performances that really seal the deal for these.

Others

     Background Music (Yoshiaki Fujisawa)
Superstar!! marks the return of School Idol Project composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa to the franchise.
  • "Gusokumushi no Uta", the short song by Sumire in Season 1 Episode 4, is both extremely catchy and memetically hilarious due to the image of child Sumire dressed up as a giant isopod. The soundtrack takes the silliness and runs with it by also including a Showa-pop (歌謡) version with over-the-top electric guitar and instrumentation.
