Awesome Music / Bug Fables

Go To

The soundtrack for Bug Fables has been heavily praised by a lot of fans, showing that there was a lot of inspiration from other game soundtracks.

  • The first battle theme itself is a very fun sounding battle theme that wouldn't sound out of place from the Paper Mario series that inspired it in the first place.
  • You know the game starts getting serious when even its battle theme changes to "Team, It's Getting Serious!" to accompany the enemies. You know the game's telling you that it's time to kick some serious ass. You hear it for the first time whether you're traveling to the Wasp Kingdom through the Far Grasslands or you're taking on Leif's request and exploring Upper Snakemouth.
  • The Wasp battle theme is very suspenseful and serious sounding as much as it is awesome. It plays for a few small select moments during the early part of the game, but get ready to listen to this as Chapters 5 and 6 have areas filled with wasps.
  • The miniboss theme, "Team, This One's Stronger", is a fun and catchy tune to listen to still lets you know that things are about to get real.
  • What better battle theme to have for a spider that killed a ton of travelers than a catchy jazz theme. It doesn't fit, but it's definitely fun sounding.
  • "Reckless, For Glory!" is the boss theme for the Bounties (alongside Mother Chomper, Broodmother, Team Maki and Team Slacker), and it shows that what you're about to face is going to give you a hard time. Most players will even likely to encounter them on complete accident (specifically the Devourer who is as available as early as the second chapter and the False Monarch, who is fought later in the game, but is found in the maze area of the Forsaken Lands) as well.
  • Sure, you defeated the spider and got through everything the Golden Hills could give to you, but what better way to show the bosses aren't playing with this battle theme. Definitely shows the difficulty spike as well.
  • "Mecha Bee Destroyer Blast Lord" shows what happens when you face a haywire Heavy Drone B-33. It wouldn't be out of place as an SNES-era RPG Final Boss theme.
  • The mysterious sounding boss theme for The Watcher has a lot of techno incorporated into it, which adds to the general awesomeness to the theme.
  • "Cruel Beast, Devourer of Journeys" has been frequently compared to Kabbu's revenge against the Beast, and it perfectly fits in, as the last phase of the fight has the Beast kill Vi and Leif, which angers Kabbu enough to power up and finally kill the monster that killed his former teammates before the events of the game.
  • "Battle Against Ultimax (Who Has A Tank)" plays when you fight against Ultimax (who has a tank) at the end of Rubber Prison. It sounds militaristic and has even been compared to the Super Mario RPG soundtrack. Considering that this is the Climax Boss before going after the Wasp King in the Giant's Lair, it's definitely worth the fight.
  • The Wasp King himself has three different battle themes. The first one, "The Usurper", helps play the fact that he's not to be messed around. The rematch against him is set to "The Usurper, Grasping for Power", a dark sounding song that fits well for a penultimate boss fight, with some commenters even comparing him to Ganondorf. And the music for his final phase after eating the Everlasting Sapling's leaf to become the Everlasting King, titled "Transcending, Overpowering, Everlasting", is a wonderful sounding final boss theme, sounding rather heroic while at the same time, showcasing the full power of the Wasp King. In fact, during the second part of the song even plays the game's leitmotif as well.
  • The "Outskirts" theme that plays when you're outside of the Ant Kingdom is a very jolly sounding theme that brings the early game Mario areas in mind. It's the perfect theme for an early-game area.
  • The "Snakemouth Den", the Noob Cave of the game is chilling and calm-sounding (and even sounds similar to the Tail Cave theme from Link's Awakening) . It fits in with the foggy area once Leif joins you. Revisiting Upper Snakemouth later has a more chilling theme, "The Lab Above Snakemouth", which makes use of the instruments well to know that horrific experiments happened here. It even has the normal Snakemouth theme remixed too.
  • Even Fry's Leitmotif, "Fry It Up!", sounds uplifting and goes with his dialogue perfectly.
  • Crisbee's Leitmotif is very adorable sounding too. It really fits in with his baker motif.
  • When the Ant Kingdom is under attack by the Wasps (after defeating the Watcher), this theme plays. It's the first sign that the game's tone shifts to a serious one, and it even plays again during the stove segment of the Giant's Lair, fitting in just as well, arguably even more.
  • The Wasp Kingdom theme sounds sad, considering the area is heavily militarized by brainwashed wasps and numerous others have been imprisoned, it's fitting.
  • "Forsaken Lands" is a calm yet emotional sounding track that sets the mood for the area, which is a foggy and desolate wasteland. Some people have even compared it to Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Hollow Knight as well.
