Awesome / Friday the 13th: The Game

Go To

As expected from a game where you can play as Jason Voorhees himself, there are some awesome things.

    open/close all folders

     Jason
  • The many satisfying and brutal grab kills Jason can perform on the counselors. Whether you Falcon Punch their head off, skewer them with a demonic pitchfork or give them a deadly bear hug, they really make you feel powerful and unstoppable. Near a tree stump? Just shove them onto the damn thing. Inside a living room? Cook them in the nearest fireplace and the list goes on. One of the new Premium kills for Part 7 Jason is the same one used by Alice to decapitate Pamela, time for Jason to show them counselors how his mother felt after she was decapitated.
  • One of Part 4's kills is basically his death from the movie including sliding down the blade, time to find Tommy Jarvis and give him a taste of his own medicine.
  • The very premise of the game with him as the Villain Protagonist (though many have argued he's always this) allows him to do what he's never done in other movies and have The Bad Guy Wins.
  • The very premise of Tom Savini's game-exclusive version of Jason, who escaped from hell and took the Devil's pitchfork with him. Even his design looks cool: his mask burnt black, his body and eyes glowing with hellfire!

     Counselors
  • Successfully killing Jason. The process is incredibly complicated and requires great teamwork, but it's satisfying to pull off.
  • Just escaping in general is a Moment of Awesome as it's a feat that requires you to evade an incredibly dangerous Implacable Man killer. Doubly so if everyone makes it out alive and Jason is denied his prey. Triply so if Jason's killed everyone, you being the last person standing and it's on the two minute countdown before the match is up. Those moments are so intense, two minutes feels like five minutes.
  • Deborah Kim is not having any of Jason's shit, if she faces up against him.
Deborah Kim: I know you can die Jason!
  • The police get one if they actually manage to put Jason down long enough to rescue the survivors. Apparently, More Dakka is as effective as the more complicated method of killing him.

     Tommy
  • Tommy Jarvis arriving to fight Jason as his Archenemy is a definite example of Big Damn Heroes. Even if he doesn't make it out alive, he's a guy who has conquered his fears of Jason.
  • Tommy is the only one capable of killing Jason. It's become a point where he's the man Jason most fears for a reason. Maybe this time it will stick.
