[[Index]]On Trudy: She is a particularly interesting character because she develops only to symbolize Pete's life; she begins as being submissive to Pete, arguably even more than Betty was to Don. Later on, she becomes nagging and henpecking, and eventually leaves him. This was not to show that she has become stronger, but that Pete's life is now miserable and pathetic.
