Marshall D. Teach, This Bites!

General

Individual Fics

Crossover
  • Amazing Fantasy (My Hero Academia & Spider-Man): Izuku gets bitten by a genetically-modified spider when he decides to walk into an alleyway rather than a shady underpass one day, giving him the powers of Spider-Man.
  • Avengers: Infinite Wars (Marvel Cinematic Universe & Star Wars): While based on the MCU, Jessica Jones has her comic counterpart's flight ability as well as her enhanced strength.
  • Ben 10: Unlimited:
    • Ultimate Rath had few powers shown in canon, but here, he becomes something of a fusion of a lion and a saber-toothed cat. He has three claws on each wrist and his tail develops a battle-axe, and can even launch his wrist claws like missiles.
    • In canon Fairy Tail, Angel was a summoner, using Celestial Spirit Magic to summon various Spirits to do her bidding, but her New God counterpart instead has a floating mechanical eye that can shoot energy beams and morph into various weapons, like swords and shields.
  • BlazBlue Alternative: Remnant (BlazBlue & RWBY): Downplayed for the BlazBlue cast, who have very minor changes to their abilities in order to better fit the RWBY setting. Additionally, they universally all use Aura and Semblances rather than Ars Magus and Drives.
    • Noel's Semblance is Far Sight rather than Chain Revolver. This has the added consequence of making her more of a Long-Range Fighter here, whereas, in the original games, she used more Gun Kata.
    • Kagura's Semblance is Black Gale, as was his Drive in the games, but here it's been recontextualized as the black wind that he uses in some of his special attacks, rather than it being his Stance System.
    • Penny didn't display a Semblance in RWBY canon, but here she has one called Homing Beacon, which lets her track the location of people she's made a strong connection with. Additionally, her floating blades actually levitate rather than needing to be manipulated by wires because the new source for them is the Lux Sanctus: Murakumo.
  • Blood Meridian with extra sprinkles:
    • The Man uses a Chaos Emerald to blast the Judge and throw him across the wall. Later it is revealed The Man is a Saiyan, even though at the start of the fic, it said he was a Pokémon.
    • Judge Holden is a Stand user, specifically his stand is Star Platinum. This would mean by extension he also has Dio's time-freezing powers.
    • Garfield is a warrior skilled at performing punches, kicks, and uppercuts, and can also shapeshift into a rocket. The Man summoned him into battle thanks to a spellbook.
  • Charles Manson Vs The Teletubbies: The Teletubbies' superpowers aren't clear, but they can make explosions happen, and their frightening titles (such as "the eradicator of hope" and "the killer of dimensions") imply they have used them for heinous purposes in the past.
  • Code Geass: Paladins of Voltron (Code Geass & Voltron: Legendary Defender): Rai's Geass in Lost Colors was like Lelouch's, only it required the person hearing the command instead of direct eye contact. Here his Geass grants him heightened senses in combat.
  • In Dedicated Hearts made Fullmetal, Armin Arlert doesn't inherit the Colossal Titan (which instead goes to Erwin). Instead, he learns with the help of Alphonse Elric how to use Roy Mustang's flame alchemy, which helps him fight against both the Colossal and Cart Titans on even grounds.
  • The Devil Fruit Hero:
    • Izuku gains the power of nearly all the Devil Fruits of One Piece after consuming one with all the colors of the rainbow on it.
    • Silvers Rayleigh has a Quirk that allows him to detect the potential of a person and how to awaken it.
  • The Echo Ranger: Izuku in this story never gains One for All, instead obtaining a Power Coin that combines the Green, White and Black Ranger powers used by Tommy Oliver (which also give him a small boost to his physical capacities by default). Justified partly due to the fact that, for reasons still unknown, Ranger powers aren't compatible with Quirks.
  • Fates Collide (Fate Series & RWBY):
    • In addition to absorbing electricity to increase her strength, Nora Valkyrie can also fire electricity.
    • Instead of firing silver light that cripples Grimm and Maidens, Ruby Rose's Silver Eyes create a Reality Marble. It takes them to a featureless, white void, with an apparition of Ruby's mother Summer Rose. Summer wields a scythe and is almost invisible due to her white cloak. When more people visit it, it creates more apparitions based on their lost loved ones.
    • Medusa can control her stone gaze and doesn't have to wear her blindfold if she doesn't want to.
    • Instead of being able to steal Semblances, Marcus Black is immune to poison and becomes stronger whenever he is exposed to poison, including alcohol.
  • Fates Collide sequel Lost to Dust:
    • In addition to his regular abilities, Beowulf has a Feed It with Fire ability (he gets more powerful whenever he is struck) similar to Yang Xiao Long.
    • Instead of only making portals to people she has a bond with, Raven Branwen can make portals to anywhere as long as she knows where it is. She can go to an unfamiliar place if she has something for a catalyst.
  • Since their power comes from Stands instead of Equestrian magic, the Mane 7's powers change greatly in JoJo New Universe.
  • J-WITCH Series: When the Ice Crew join the Knights of Vengeance in "Black and White Chi All Over", rather than getting portions of Drago's chi (as he's already given that to Hak Foo, Raythor, and Frost), they are instead given elemental magic by Nerissa — DJ Fist is turned into living metal, MC Cobra is given magma powers, and Strikemaster Ice gains powers to match his name.
  • My Miraculous Academia:
    • Unlike his canon counterpart, Izuku never gets "One For All". Instead, he finds the Butterfly Miraculous, giving him superhuman strength, speed, and stamina on top of bestowing and enhancing the powers of others.
    • In the case of the Butterfly Miraculous, it conjures the Butterflies used to carry out akumatization (Hawk Moth having had to breed the butterflies himself in canon) and Izuku is able to grow butterfly wings for himself (a power Hawk Moth lacks, period).
  • The Silver Raven (The Owl House & Devil May Cry)
    • In the games, Exceed was more technology-based given that it was built into Red Queen. In this story, it's magic-based via Nero casting a specialized spell circle on the hilt.
    • In the games, absorbing the Rusalka corpse gave Nero the ability to track hidden orbs and secret missions. Here, it allows him to detect high concentrations of demonic energy, such as when he picked up on Echidna's presence in Chapter 13.
  • There Was Once an Avenger From Krypton:
    • Chloe's Miraculous powers are completely different. Canonically, Chloe as Queen Bee had somewhat similar abilities to Ladybug and her Limit Break was a "Venom" sting that immobilized its victim. Here, she can fly and secrete a honey-like substance from her hands that can either heal people or trap opponents, and her Limit Break is a form of telepathic communication.
    • The Fox Miraculous has a rope dart instead of a flute as a weapon, can make body clones that become corporeal when using Mirage, and the Butterfly Miraculous has energy manipulation abilities that can be either boosted or weakened by the emotions in the vicinity.
    • Petrosapien crystal in the Kryptonverse, due to Galvan alterations, completely blocks the flow of tachyons, rendering anything fully trapped inside completely unaffected by time for the duration. Nothing like this was ever-present in canon.

Arrowverse

  • Never Be Silent: In this story, it turns out that Laurel's choker isn't what really gives her the Canary Cry. The Cry actually comes from Laurel herself, as she's really a metahuman with a Super-Scream power.

Azur Lane

  • Chronicles of the Siren War: Official media generally portray riggings as a kansen's primary weapons, whereas here, they function more as a tool that allows a kansen to become one with her ship and channel her actual powers.

Bleach

  • Vow of the King:
    • Ichigo's zanpakuto is called Eien-ō rather than Zangetsu and can summon Golems in addition to its Sword Beam.
    • In canon, Isane's shikai was a katana with two prongs coming off the blade and was implied to be an ice type. In this story, her shikai is called Kesshōgiri and takes the form of a dozen crystals that she can store kido spells in or alter the shape of (such as growing into large spikes or turning one into a kanabo).
    • Nemu's zanpakuto is called Tengoku Shibari and takes the form of four violet bands around her wrists and ankles that can create metallic ribbons that can be used to cut, bind, or pierce targets with

Charmed (1998)

  • The AU fic "Charmed Alternate" opens with Paige Matthews meeting the Halliwells shortly after Grams' death, becoming Piper's best friend even before they learn that Paige is their sister. As a result, Paige receives her powers at the same time as Prue, Piper, and Phoebe as she is in the manor when Phoebe casts the spell. However, where canon saw Paige acquire a modified version of Prue's ability, here Paige's natural power is the ability to generate a powerful force-shield.

Danganronpa

Disney Animated Canon

Empires SMP

Fusion Fic

  • Neither a Bird nor a Plane, it's Deku! (The DCU & My Hero Academia): Several characters who were originally characters who are Quirk users in the original My Hero Academia canon have their abilities attributed to a Metagene, magic, or genetic mutation. This has led to some changes in their abilities, such as Present Mic having Voice Changeling abilities on top of his original powerset. Izuku doesn't fall under any of these categories because his Combo Platter Powers originate from his Kryptonian heritage.

Godzilla / King Kong / MonsterVerse

Kill la Kill

  • Natural Selection: In canon, Mako had a Two-Star Goku Uniform that allowed her to throw impromptu weapons and use a baseball bat that doubled as a missile launcher. Here, she instead has a Three-Star uniform that can manipulate the perception of others as a passive ability and she mainly fights using a combination of Good Old Fisticuffs and Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

  • MCU Rewrites: In this rewrite of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda Maximoff's telekinesis and telepathy are changed to reality warping powers more in line with her comic book counterpart. The narration even uses the terms "Chaos Magic" and "Hex Bolts". It becomes downplayed in retrospect with the release of WandaVision, which reveals that she's always had Chaos Magic since that time period.
  • Sixes and Sevens has several, often overlapping with Adaptation Species Change.
    • Aldo Malvagio in the comics had Super-Toughness akin to Captain America (after being fused with two other men), but started as a normal human. Here he is changed to a werewolf.
    • Roger Aubrey also had similar powers to Cap in the comics. The fic gives him diamond-hard skin, and he can also harden his fingertips into razor-sharp claws thanks to his Inhuman lineage. In Haunting of Vilal Layla it implies that this also gives him some sort of resistance to telepathic abilities.
    • Mark Todd in the comics was trained in combat and fire immunity by a race of "underground skull men" in Japan. Here, he has a more diverse array of fire abilities thanks to being bonded to a Spirit of Vengeance.
    • The little girl Illa whom Roger meets as a child is a human with telepathic and precognitive abilities. Her comics counterpart is Illa the Living Moon, who's a moon with the power of...she's a moon.
    • While still a mutant, Arclight is now electrokinetic instead of her comic counterpart's shockwave powers. The authors say they did this since there are plenty of other major characters with shockwave- and vibration-based powers.
  • Tingle: The Spot's teleportation abilities are exclusively from his suit rather than him possessing natural superpowers.

Miraculous Ladybug

  • Arctique:
    • The fic opens with Kagami receiving the Bee Miraculous, going by Hachi. The Bee Miraculous later gets passed on to Alya, going by Abeille.
    • After siding with Hawkmoth, Chloé is given the Fox Miraculous. Not knowing what name to use, Trixx suggests Arctique.
  • Crimson and Noire:
    • Marinette is chosen for the Black Cat Miraculous instead of the Ladybug Miraculous like in canon, and vice-versa for Adrien.
    • Master Fu wields the Fox Miraculous instead of the Turtle Miraculous.
    • Juleka, instead of being akumatized into Refleka like in canon and turning others into copies of herself, becomes Knight Skies with the power to rapidly grow plants.
    • Kim's Akuma form is Speedstar and can petrify his targets by draining their speed rather than turning their love to hate as Dark Cupid in canon.
    • Alix's Akuma form is Aro Dynamix and can remove a person's ability to feel romantic attraction rather than vaporizing her targets to travel back in time as Timebreaker.
    • In chapter 33, Nino is temporarily given the Fox instead of the Turtle Miraculous.
    • Nathalie and Emilie have both wielded the Butterfly Miraculous rather than the Peacock Miraculous as in canon. It's also implied that Gabriel has used the Peacock in the past instead of the Butterfly.
  • A Different Miraculous Set of Circumstances...: In canon, Marinette is the user of the Ladybug miraculous. Here, she's chosen to wield the Mouse Miraculous. Furthermore, unlike canon's Multitude, the Mouse's special ability is changed to 'Ghost' which allows the user to travel through solid barriers.
  • Hero Chat:
    • Instead of getting the Bee Miraculous (since Chloé still has it), Zoé instead uses the Eagle Miraculous.
    • Several of the Miraculous have their powers changed. The Tiger gives Invisibility, the Goat gives Dream Walking, and the Rooster gives The Power of the Sun.
  • Lady Fairy:
    • The command Marinette used to activate the Butterfly Miraculous is "Nooroo make my heart flutter!" instead of "Nooroo dark wings rise!" like in canon, and heroes created from its power are able to purify amoks. This is a power revealed to be attributed to Marinette specifically and not the Butterfly Miraculous.
    • Amoks can multiply exponentially if they aren't captured and purified just like akuma in canon.
  • Le Papillon Rising has Adrien with the Butterfly Miraculous and Gabriel with the Cat Miraculous.
  • Miraculous Alliance:
    • In addition to his canon powers, Silencer can emit powerful sonic blasts by talking in his real voice.
    • The Rabbit Miraculous is the only one with abilities related to space and time, including opening portals and rewind time. As a result, the Snake Miraculous now has the power of Entrancement, and the Horse has Super-Speed.
    • Other changes includes the Pig giving the power to create a warp hole from the mouth which can store large amounts of matter in a pocket space in the wielder's stomach, while the Tiger has a supersonic roar.
  • Miraculous: Tales of Scarlet Beetle & Ikati Black
    • Instead of the Goat Miraculous, Nathaniel gets the Butterfly Miraculous and becomes the villain Monarch. Additionally, while in canon Gabriel needs to breed the akuma butterflies himself, here anything butterfly-shaped can be used to create one (with Nath using origami ones).
    • Kim and Max end up with the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses, respectively, instead of the Monkey and Horse.
    • While Alya is still akumatized into Lady Wi-Fi, here she's a Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl reminiscent of Samara rather than a spandex-clad villain, with a slight change in how her powers work to match.
    • Myléne as Horrificator, as a side effect of some of Nathaniel's grief getting into his Akuma, now has the ability to become intangible and make people see their worst fears.
  • In Nymph and the Corrupted Miraculous, Marinette stumbles upon the Butterfly Miraculous in an abandoned mansion. Also, here Chloe's empowered form is based on a phoenix rather than being an Evil Counterpart to Ladybug.
  • Rise of Mariposa also gives her the Butterfly Miraculous, which gives her wings as well as the usual Super-Empowering ability. Here it's Lila, the villain, who gets the Ladybug Miraculous.
  • Rise of Paonne and Renard Rouge has Peacock!Marinette and Fox!Nathaniel.
  • Scarlet Lady:
    • The main What If? of the story is Chloé stealing the Ladybug Miraculous from Marinette before the latter found out about it.
    • In canon, Vanisher (Akumatized Sabrina) could just turn invisible. When she finally appears in Scarlet Lady, she can 'vanish' things into a pocket dimension where they can perceive but not interact with the real world. Her invisibility, in this case, is 'vanishing' herself, but unlike her victims, she can still interact with the real world.
    • Instead of the Ladybug Miraculous, Marinette gets the Bee Miraculous.
    • In canon Nino gets the Turtle Miraculous. In Scarlet Lady he gets the Fox Miraculous to become Fox Trot.
    • In canon Alya gets the Fox Miraculous. In Scarlet Lady she gets the Turtle Miraculous to become Koki Marina.
    • In canon Mylene gets the Mouse Miraculous. In Scarlet Lady she gets the Dog Miraculous to become Ultimutt.
    • In canon Sabrina gets the Dog Miraculous. In Scarlet Lady she gets the Mouse Miraculous to become Comousiner.
    • In canon Lila becomes an Akuma several times before stealing the Butterfly Miraculous. In Scarlet Lady she gets the Rooster Miraculous to become Fenice.
  • In Thanks, but no, Marinette, to avoid being dragged into becoming a hero, passes the Miraculouses to her friends and classmates. This means that with the exception of Adrien, all of the chosen heroes have different powers than in canon.
    • Alya gets the Ladybug Miraculous instead of the Fox to become Scarabella.
    • Nino gets the Bee Miraculous instead of the Turtle to become Melliferna.
    • Alix gets the Fox Miraculous instead of the Rabbit to become Fennec.
    • Max gets the Snake Miraculous instead of the Horse, with him and Markov becoming the hero unit King Cobra.
    • Kagami gets the Mouse Miraculous instead of the Dragon to become Nezumi.
    • In the final chapter, Marinette dons the Turtle Miraculous rather than the Ladybug.

My Hero Academia

  • In Waiting is worth it, Izuku possesses the dormant source Quirk “Telekinesis”. All Might even considered giving “One For All” to Izuku in this continuity also but decided that Izuku would make a great enough hero without it.
  • In Cuckoo Bird, Izuku is a changeling, specifically half-elf and half-puca, who uses Animorphism as his official power. He also has prophetic dreams.
  • In Metallurgy, Izuku's Quirk is an orb of liquid metal he can telepathically control. His main uses for it are using it as a flying surfboard and coating parts of his body to increase his strength and defense.
  • In Raindancer, Izuku possesses a Quirk called Liquid Body, which gives him powerful water Elemental Shapeshifter abilities. Unfortunately, apart from Power-Strain Blackout, a side effect is that if he gets too excited, he ends up vomiting up a stream of water that can flood buildings.
  • In Leviathan, Izuku's Quirk is to be able to transform into a gigantic reptilian monster that has been dubbed "Leviathan". Unfortunately, this is a case of Bad Powers, Good People as not only is Izuku's Quirk sentient, but it has a desire to cause destruction. When it first surfaced when Izuku was four years old, it went on a rampage that resulted in the deaths of 32 people.
  • In Maelstrom, Izuku is born with the Quirk "Reptile", which gave him webbed fingers and toes, gills on his neck (which let him breathe underwater), reptilian eyes and control over water.
  • Rise of the Last Villain: Katsuki Bakugo receives One for All instead of Izuku.
    • Later in the fic, Izuku receives All for One from Tomura. In the finale, he further receives One for All from Bakugo, knowing that the vestiges of the former holders will prevent him from using All for One or any of the other stored quirks, rendering him functionally quirkless once more.
  • Dekiru: The Fusion Hero!: Izuku's Quirk is "Absorption", which allows him to perform a Fusion Dance with anyone he touches. This leads into Romantic Fusion territory when he fuses with Uraraka.
  • The Emerald Phoenix also has Izuku as a psychic possessing Telepathy, Telekinesis, Psychic Teleportation, and green flames that heal him (hence the title). All Might is dissuaded from giving Izuku "One For All" anyway because not only would the conflicting natures of the quirks force him to either be subpar in both or ignore one in favor of the other, but it also increases the risk of "One For All" mutating unexpectedly. Other characters also get changed powers:
    • Bakugou can detonate his explosive sweat from anywhere on his body rather than just sweat from his hands.
    • Uraraka doesn't have to touch herself to change gravity on herself and can adjust gravity rather than just negating it.
    • Iida's Quirk is changed from a mutation type to a transformation type and he can create different kinds of engine pipes from any part of his body.
    • Momo can further alter items she creates so long as she doesn't let go of them.
    • Jirou can produce simple sounds besides just her heartbeat, such as morse code.
    • Kaminari no longer produces electricity as an offensive weapon but instead stores and manipulates electricity (and magnetism to an extent), including using electricity to boost his healing. His weakness is also changed to having significant amounts of water shorting him out and causing painful electric shocks, even having to ground himself to take a shower. Kaminari is also not allowed inside cars lest his electricity accidentally ignite the gasoline.
  • The For the Want of a Nail Series provides multiple examples:
  • A Green Dragon's Hoard:
    • Izuku's Quirk is based on Kaido, granting him massively increased size, strength, and durability along with the ability to turn into a massive Chinese dragon.
    • Due to Adaptation Relationship Overhaul, Mitsuki has an explosion Quirk while her father Katsuki has an oxidizing Quirk.
    • Ochako, due to being based on her prototype design, has a Sizeshifter Quirk rather than Gravity Master.
    • A minor example occurs with Manami Aiba, whose Quirk can now be activated with a kiss as well as telling someone she loves them.
  • In My Iron Giant, Izuku has the ability to manifest a Humongous Mecha around himself that he discovers at the Entrance Exam.
  • One Stands for All: Downplayed. Izuku still has One For All, but rather than Super-Strength, it manifests as him summoning the spirits of the previous holders who can use both One For All and their own Quirks as well.
  • A number of the one-shots in Quantity of Quirks give Izuku and/or others different Quirks than canon.
    • In The King of Beasts, Izuku is functionally a teenage Kaido, including the ability to transform into a giant dragon.
    • In the unnamed fourth oneshot, Izuku's quirk turns him into a melanistic jaguar aka a black panther.
    • The Great Sage gives Izuku a quirk based on Sun Wukong, including his transformations and flying cloud.
    • In Critical Overcharge, Izuku still has One For All (though he calls it Critical Overcharge). Instead, the differences are in his female classmates. Nemuri can create gases with various effects, but except for her sleeping gas, she has to experience the chemical first. She's first shown creating smelling salts and mentions being able to create a capsaicin spray. Mina can create any caustic liquid but admits she's rather bad at bases so she sticks to acids. She can also manipulate acids she's created after the fact. Camie's illusions affect all senses, not just hearing and sight. On top of that, because her Quirk involves her breath, Camie's lungs are extremely advanced, allowing her to sprint a kilometer and a half in three minutes while only needing to take a total of six breaths. Setsuna maintains her Detachment Combat abilities but also has the ability to turn partially or fully into a dinosaur that looks like a cross between the Indominus Rex and Indoraptor.
  • Turning a New Leaf: Instead of being a Quirkless kid who gains "One For All", Izuku instead manifests his own Quirk that gives him Tanuki characteristics which is eventually revealed to not be a Quirk, but transforming him into an actual Youkai.
  • One for All and Eight for the Ninth: Izuku still has One For All, but aspects of it are changed; because the fic was written before certain reveals in the canon story, the Second User's Quirk is called Laser Disc instead of Gearshift. More importantly, though, is Bonding, a Quirk absorbed by the Power Stockpile while All For One briefly held both; it allows Izuku to form empathic bonds with his romantic partners, later upgrades to which include telepathy, Ability Mixing, teleportation, and while it hasn't come up yet, the ability to survive a fatal wound. This additional sub-Quirk has also allowed One For All to reach Singularity months before it would do so in canon, allowing Izuku to make contact with the Vestiges of the previous users on the day of the UA Entrance Exam, and because the Bonds are facilitated through the Vestiges, their Quirks are accessible to him much sooner as he levels up with his eight girlfriends.
  • In Green Tea Rescue, Izuku has Psychokinesis as a Quirk, but due to Bakugo and his father he was blocked in its use. All Might does give him One for All, but later than in canon. And he also ends up developing Boric Pyre.
    • Meanwhile, Inko has her canon Attraction of Small Objects, but also Fa Jin from an encounter with All for One.
  • In Changing Gears, when Izuku gets One for All, it initially manifests as Gearshift, the Second Torchbearer's original Quirk.
  • In Danger First, Izuku getting One for All manifests at first as Danger Sense, the Fourth Torchbearer's original Quirk.

Naruto

  • More Than Enemies: Justified seeing several developments steer Sakura to gain a different skillset from canon and much earlier. This includes:
    • She figured out by herself the Water Walking technique and later developed an Air Walking technique (hanging from the water surface like a bat by walking on the water-air interphase) to rapidly mobilize and fight underwater.
    • Sakura has assimilated various useful genjutsu from Itachi — how to induce calmness in an animal and how to conceal herself or others. She is also way better at spotting and breaking genjutsu.
    • Kakashi gave her the initial hint to figure out chakra sensing and taught her the Body Flicker.
    • While within a snake's bowels, she picked up chakra-coating on the spot.
    • She can channel chakra to any part of her body to improve said part's function — her lungs to boost her oxygenation or breath underwater, her limbs to stick objects on them, her ears to improve hearing, etc.
    • Shi-chan make her sign the Crow Summon Contract which gave her the ability to not only summon crows but to use them as a hivemind for recon and environmental awareness. And also to produce her own crow clones.
    • Another important change is Sakura's apparent lack of an Elemental Affinity. It doesn't matter how many times she pours chakra in the chakra paper, nothing happens.
    • An overlap with Adaptational Skill occurs with the genjutsu Kakashi crafted for her. It emulates the Sharingan's preternatural environmental perception, specifically in terms of measuring distances with a mere glance. Sakura is yet to master not how to cast it but how to effectively use it. As she is a self-described paper ninja, she's got Awesomeness by Analysis, but she still needs to hone it to calculate angles and speeds on the spot as the Sharingan does automatically while tuning the genjutsu's input to not saturate her brain. The ultimate goal is to grant her absolute aiming.
  • Son of the Sannin:
    • Downplayed example with Mei Terumi and Kurotsuchi. Both of them in canon had Lava Release, but it worked differently for each (acidic mud for Mei, and corrosive quicklime for Kurotsuchi). In this story, they both have the same one (actual lava), partly owing to the fact that they're closely related.
    • Since Danzo doesn't get the chance to transplant Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan eye, he substitutes it with a different one. Said eye comes from Fugaku Uchiha, whose Mangekyo Sharingan gives him access to a jutsu named Okuninushi that creates negative-colored clones of himself to attack.
  • True Potential: In canon, Sakura is a Combat Medic with Super-Strength. Here, her main skills are genjutsu and fūinjutsu. In addition, her choice in animal summon is dogs instead of slugs.

One Piece

  • In This Bites!, unlike in canon where Blackbeard stole the deceased Whitebeard's Tremor-Tremor Fruit during the Marineford War, he was unable to extract the fruit from Whitebeard's corpse due to Ace and Hawkins immolating his body immediately after his death. Enraged, Blackbeard murdered Byrnndi World and claimed his More-More Fruit as a substitute.

Persona Franchise

  • Hours 'Verse: In Monarch's Cascade, Kasumi's Persona is changed from Cendrillon to Helel. Zig-zagged later; when she has her true awakening as Sumire, she receives Cendrillon as in canon. Her awakening to Helel is explained as a result of her maxed Star Arcana bond with the late Kasumi, now having the power of the Wild Card.
  • In Persona 4 SILVER BLUE, Labrys not only has the powers and abilities she had in canon, but she also gets the power of the wild card and access to the Velvet Room too, due to taking Yu Narukami’s place as the main protagonist.
