* An episode of ''Series/AgentsOfShield'' features this in a rather horrifying way. An abducted SHIELD agent had an eye surgically implanted with a camera and x-ray vision. The camera allowed for her abductors to constantly monitor her at all times, no matter where she went. She was given instructions by her handler via a HUD within the eye, but if she ever stepped out of line, a miniature explosive would instantly kill her. The team, after figuring out what's going on and capturing her, uses a specialized pair of glasses to intercept the monitoring transmission and not let the handler realize what had happened. Ward had to use the glasses to continue her current mission and keep up the charade until the explosive was defused.

* The hero of ''Series/FortuneHunter'' uses camera contact lenses and a two-way earpiece to transmit what he sees and hears to his MissionControl.
