* Tropers/immortalfrieza: Megaman 4 was a DMOS in retrospect because it became ground zero for a major issue in the franchise. Dr. Wily was killed off at the end of Megaman 3, so Megaman 4 had a new villain take center stage as the antago... haha no, Dr. Wily was behind everything all along. This utter refusal to come with actual new villains and always have the game's supposed villain hijacked by the same one the era started with began here. Megaman 4 had Dr. Crossack as the supposed villain, then Protoman, then a Paper Thin Disguised Dr. Wily as though the developers were saying "yeah, it's Wily, it's always going to be Wily and you're stupid for thinking otherwise." The X series barely bothered with the pretense most of the time as Sigma was behind everything in every single X game and they don't try to pretend otherwise. It's like the Megaman franchise is allergic to having new villains at all, not even in a rotating roster like a comic book superhero RoguesGallery. It's no wonder that Megaman gets so fed up with Wily he wants to kill him by Megaman 7, I would too!

* Tropers/DongDongNeverDie: The ending of Mega Man Legends 2. Just... the ending. It is by far, one of the most infuriating Cliffhanger Cliffhangers in gaming history. In a nutshell, [=MegaMan=], Sera, and Tera are left stranded on Elysium with no other means to escape. I mean, sure, they try to keep it positive with MegaMan staying optimistic that Roll will come looking for them no matter what happens, but then we cut to Roll and Tron's rocket suddenly blowing up, which was meant to be comedic but came across as massively insulting, and to rub salt into the wound, Data has the audacity to say, "Sorry, [=MegaMan=], but it looks like you might be stuck up there for a little while more!" Might as well replace "a little while more" with "the next hundred years" considering the third game, which was supposed to be released in 2011 but was canceled prematurely. Not to mention, this is chronologically the most recently entry in the Mega Man timeline. I personally blame both Capcom and Keiji Inafune for this. It really is a shame because Volnutt is one of the nicest, sweetest protagonists in all of Mega Man, yet it feels like he gets treated unfairly because of this one ending. He might as well be TheWoobie of Capcom at this rate.

* Papaga: VideoGame/MegaManX1: Zero's sacrifice to help you defeat Vile was a pretty frustrating scene on the whole. First of all, Zero hasn't made a single appearance since the very start of the game; if they really wanted to have some worthwhile drama, they should have remembered he exists during any of the past 8 levels. Second, Vile has no good reason to be as unstoppable as he is. So he gets to kick your ass in the first level, and then after going through the whole game and collecting powerups, nothing has changed in your ability to beat him? Instead the player needs the same character to come rescue them again, just for a forced emotional scene? What a disappointing way to handle the rematch with such a hateable villain. The whole thing would be way less annoying if they just let you defeat Vile on your own, and then moved Zero's sacrifice to a more intimidating villain like Sigma, instead.

* Tropers//NTroper: One moment stands out in the filler-ific, badly written script of Starforce 2. Namely, when Luna confronts Geo over his HeroicBSOD after he finds Sonia at Bermuda Maze and she reveals she defected to Lady Vega's group, even attacking Geo and leaving him unconscious after cutting off their brotherband to further hammer it in. When Geo fills her in on the situation, Luna calls Geo the world's biggest idiot for not picking up on Sonia obviously pretending to defect to Lady Vega's side to keep Geo safe and for not trusting her. Only one problem here, that being that this whole thing started because Sonia didn't trust Geo. She gets cornered by Hollow and told that only by her joining them will Geo keep safe and she just goes along with it. They don't even have any hold on Geo whatsoever and up to that point, Geo has 2 games' worth of successfully fighting through anything the bad guys throw at him, one of them including a Planet-Killing Weapon, and Geo currently has the OOPart inside him, fully in control of its power. Yet one "Join us or your friend dies" later, Sonia cuts off his brotherband and attacks him...and that is never addressed. To put this in perspective, Kidd Gruff, the NPC that wave changes into Kung Foo Kid, wants to test his skills against the one who he specifically describes as "The one who defeated Andromeda". You know you've made a grave writing mistake when an NPC gives the main character more credit than his first friend and Brother who actively fights alongside him does.

*Tropers/Thepenguinking2: VideoGame/MegaMan7 is pretty great, in my opinion; probably just below 6, V, and 3 for me, although I've not yet played the entire series (Haven't gotten to 8 and beyond yet). That being said, I'll have to put the ending on here, and I'm not talking about the FinalBoss (Trust me, if gameplay-related examples were allowed here, we'd be here while I'm ranting about Wily Machine 4 instead). I'm talking about what happens after, especially in the localization. Wily gets down on his knees as usual, and... Mega Man threatens to kill him. Isn't Mega Man supposed to be an AllLovingHero? One who only fights solely for the safety of the world? Wily may be a right old bastard, but even then, Mega Man isn't the kind of hero to kill someone! If he was, he'd have tried this as soon as the very first game! And then Wily tells Mega Man that he can't do this, due to the laws that robots can't kill humans, and Mega Man realizes what he's doing and lowers his buster... in the original game. In the english localization? "I'm more than a robot. Die, Wily!" Not only does this push the OutOfCharacterMoment even further, the line makes no sense whatsoever. In terms of law, he really is just a robot. Semantically, what makes him "More than a robot"? His Robot appearance? What does this say about every other human-looking robot master? And then Mega Man doesn't have a hint of rethinking this, which raises the question as to why he doesn't try to kill Wily again.
