Act I: Mighty Cyclops' Adventure!

At Lingju Pass, the Traveler and Paimon join a Millelith investigation on an unusually high concentration of Ruin Guards. Along the way they see a little boy addressing an inactive Ruin Guard as "Mr. Cyclops", his favorite toy made by his doting older brother. He introduces himself to the duo as Teucer, who has traveled all the way from Snezhnaya to look for his brother, who works as a toy seller in Liyue.
Heading for Northland Bank, a gathering place for Snezhnayan expatriates, the duo are surprised to learn that Tartaglia is the aforementioned older brother. Likewise, he is concerned at Teucer having made the journey by himself, and explains to the Traveler and Paimon that he puts up an act as toy seller because Teucer is still too young to understand the shady nature of his job, before leaving them with babysitting him while he attends to matters at Qingxu Pool to the northwest.
After being humored by the Traveler and Paimon with a tour of Liyue Harbor, Teucer decides to see his brother at Qingxu Pool, where they see Tartaglia negotiating with a trio of Treasure Hoarders. Realizing his brother has tailed him, Tartaglia assumes his toy seller act while he takes a treasure the Hoarders found, causing the latter group to realize he is collecting on their leader's outstanding debt.
Later, Tartaglia is relayed orders to train Fatui recruits outside The Chasm. As usual, Teucer (and the Traveler and Paimon) tail him, forcing Tartaglia to put up his act anew and engage the recruits in a mock battle. Impressed at the display, Teucer asks his brother to train him to be able to fight to protect their family back home, promising to finally return home after his brother brings him to see the "Institute for Toy Research"... which the Traveler and Paimon recognize as the source of the Ruin Guards they saw at Lingju Pass earlier, as well as, according to Tartaglia, a research facility abandoned by his fellow Harbinger, Dottore.
Inside the facility, Tartaglia has the Traveler dispatch hostiles inside while he leads Teucer around. In the very depths of the facility, Tartaglia has Teucer close his eyes and count from sixty while he clears the facility of Ruin Guards. However, they have grown more aggressive, leaving him with little choice but use his Foul Legacy Transformation anew to quickly dispatch of them, despite having yet to make a full recovery from the strain of using it against the Traveler back in their duel at the Golden House.
When Teucer opens his eyes, his brother is nowhere to be found, but the Traveler hands him an action figure of "Mr. Cyclops", which Tartaglia asked the Traveler to give to him while he is recovering from the battle.
With Tartaglia unable to see his little brother off due to injuries sustained, he instead asks the Traveler to see Teucer off in his stead. Before he takes the boat ride home, he recognizes the Traveler through letters his brother sent him, and thanks them for the adventure and hopes that they will visit his family in the future. As the ship sails far away, Tartaglia comes out of hiding and also thanks the Traveler for covering for him, promising to have another duel with them some time in the future, but also extending the same invitation to see his family back home.
