Mondstadt, ruled by Barbatos, the Anemo Archon and god of wind and freedom, is the nation where the Traveler begins their journey across Teyvat. Along the way, during which they help pacify Dvalin, its draconic protector, after he had been brainwashed by the Abyss Order, as well as contend with the Fatui, they are appointed as honorary member of the Knights of Favonius, its peacekeeping body, and become fast friends with several high-ranking personnel: Amber, a cheerful scout and their first friend in Teyvat; Kaeya Alberich, the crafty, cunning captain of its cavalry division; Jean Gunnhildr, the dutiful Acting Grand Master of the Knights; and Lisa Minci, their narcoleptic head librarian. In addition, they also befriend Diluc Ragnvindr, an aloof businessman, vintner, and former cavalry captain of the Knights, as well as Kaeya's estranged adoptive brother and proprietor of Dawn Winery, the largest of its kind in Mondstadt, and its flagship tavern Angel's Share; and Venti, a young bard who they discover to be the vessel of Barbatos.

Other Mondstadter friends the Traveler meets along the way include Barbara Pegg, Jean's bubbly younger sister and a deaconess of the Church of Favonius, the dominant religion of Mondstadt; Sucrose, a shy apprentice alchemist for the Knights; Noelle, a soft-spoken maid and aspiring Knight; Bennett, a member of the Mondstadt Adventurers' Guild infamous for his supernaturally bad luck; Fischl, another member of the Guild known both for her intellect and her eccentric behavior; Diona Kätzlein, a young bartender from Angel Share's rival tavern Cat's Tail who despises alcohol; Razor, a wild boy raised by wolves on a secluded valley west of Mondstadt proper; Klee, a little girl under Jean's care and a junior Knight of Favonius known for her bomb-making skills; Mona Megistus, a famous astrologer who often suffers from dire financial straits; Albedo, the secretive head alchemist of the Knights and Sucrose's mentor; Rosaria, a cynical bandit-turned-nun who does much of Mondstadt's dirty work against threats from within and without; Eula Lawrene, the sharp-tongued captain of the Knights' reconaissance division and daughter of a disgraced aristocratic clan that once ruled Mondstadt with an iron fist before being overthrown a millennium ago by the then-nascent Knights; and Mika Schmidt, a shy surveyor and mapmaker for the Knights' reconaissance division.

Story Quests

Lepus (Amber)

Act I: Wind, Courage, and Wings
Released: v1.0 "Welcome to Teyvat" (September 28, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 8
Prerequisite Quest: "The Outlander Who Caught the Wind" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act I)

Glide with the Wind

In front of the Favonius Cathedral, the Traveler and Paimon meet Amber, who tells them that she forgot to tell them that they needed a license to be able to freely glide around Mondstadt, then hands them a guidebook for them to read ahead of a licensure exam she will oversee, unaware that she accidentally gave them Wind, Courage, and Wings, her favorite storybook.

License to Glide

After finding and studying the actual guidebook, the Traveler heads for Galesong Hill, where their first test was to be taken, to inform Amber of her mistake, to her embarrassment. After the Traveler completes their first test, Amber invites them back to the City for their second test.

Mondstadt Glider

While the Traveler takes their second test from Favonius Cathedral, they are accosted by Otto, a city guard from the Knight of Favonius, who demands a license on pain of arrest. After Amber intervenes to clarify that they are taking an exam, Otto apologizes for the misunderstanding, explaining that the Knights are on high alert after "Raptor," a member of the Treasure Hoarders, an international syndicate of thieves, so-called for his habit of using Wind Gliders as getaway vehicles, stole an artifact from the Cathedral, which the Knights deliberately set up as part of a sting operation. Amber offers to help find him, who was last detected near Springvale, a village of hunters and farmers south of the City, the artifact having been marked with elemental energy for tracking purposes.

They Call Him Raptor

Along the road to Springvale, the trio find a broken-off branch, a piece of fabric, and elemental markings from the artifact, before rescuing a merchant named Farrah from hilichurls, who described a man falling from the sky into a hilichurl camp with a heavy object in tow, which Amber suspects could be Raptor. Further west, they find and defeat a group of Hoarders who, judging from their Wind Gliders, Amber suspects are Raptor's lackeys.

Outrider Style

Upon finding Raptor's hideout, the Traveler and Amber use the opportunity to improvise the former's final test, wherein they drop down bombs on hilichurls. They encounter Raptor on the other end of a chasm, taunting them to turn back. Unwilling to let him get away, Amber takes a leap of faith and glides down, whereupon an upcurrent pushes her back up, allowing her to reach Raptor and arrest him. Afterwards, Amber admits to the Traveler and Paimon that she did take a risk, but also realized that Raptor was bluffing lest she discover the upcurrent, before going ahead of the duo to bring Raptor to the City.

Later that day, the Traveler and Paimon catch up to Amber at the Favonius Cathedral, who rewards the Traveler's efforts by granting them their gliding license, in addition to signing them up for the next Wind Gliding Championship as her top competition.

Pavo Ocellus (Kaeya)

    Act I: Secret Pirate Treasure
Released: v1.0 "Welcome to Teyvat" (September 28, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 5
Prerequisite Quest: "The Outlander Who Caught the Wind" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act I)

Kaeya's Troubles

In the Knights of Favonius' headquarters, the Traveler bumps into an uncharacteristically melancholy Kaeya, who invites them to a personal conversation in the courtyard outside. There, he informs them that Treasure Hoarders have seemingly discovered the Lost Arcadian Ruins, where his late pirate grandfather buried a magical sword said to have fallen from Celestia, realm of the gods, lest it attract unwanted attention from rivals. At Kaeya's suggestion, the duo head to the Mondstadt Adventurers' Guild, where unfortunately they fail to glean anything from either Jack, a rookie adventurer, Stanley, a veteran, or Cyrus, head of the branch. The duo return empty-handed to Kaeya, who admits to putting them to the test and reveals that he already had his contacts in the black market locate the Ruins, and asks them to meet their informant at the Whispering Woods.

Mystery of the Arcadian Ruins

There, the duo find the aforementioned informant, Vile, being attacked by hilichurls. After defeating them, she hands them a map containing a message. Upon returning to Kaeya, they decipher the map to mean that the treasure is located atop one of the City's windmills, where they find that the treadure contains another clue. Reconvening with Kaeya, they decipher the clue to mean that another treasure lies behind a waterfall south of Springvale, where they unlock the treasure using Cryo energy, whereupon they find a worn-out map pointing to the location of the Lost Arcadian Ruins.

Kaeya's Gain

Per clues provided by the map, the Traveler and Paimon find the Ruins at Dadaupa Gorge. Inside, they are ambushed by Izzard, leader of a Hoarder group who claims to have tailed them and has his men waiting outside. Unfortunately for him, Kaeya intervenes to reveal that there is no treasure and that he lured out Izzard's gang using the duo. In a panic, Izzard accidentally unlocks a door that reveals a Ruin Guard, forcing the trio to neutralize it before having him arrested. Afterwards, Kaeya reveals that reports about a treasure were a red herring designed to lure Izzard, teasing Paimon that it was her fault for hastily taking him up on his offer, though as compensation he rewards them with a sword as well as promises never to deceive them again, before leaving to interrogate Izzard.

Tempus Fugit (Lisa)

    Act I: Troublesome Work
Released: v1.0 "Welcome to Teyvat" (September 28, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 15
Prerequisite Quest: "The Outlander Who Caught the Wind" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act I)

Troublesome Work'''

In library of the Knights of Favonius' headquarters, a bored Lisa spots the Traveler and Paimon; her spirits revived, she recommends them the Teyvat Travel Guide for their adventures, before realizing that it, along with several others, are long overdue, much to her ire, and and ropes in the duo into visiting the library's patrons to retrieve the books.

The trio visit several locations around the city and reclaim the books, which also doubled as an impromptu shopping spree-slash-date, such as buying a gift from Marjorie's With Wind Comes Glory, taking Lisa for a treat at Sara's Good Hunter, and buying a flower from Flora's shop. However, Donna, an employee at the latter, claims the book she borrowed was missing, if not stolen. As all the books have elemental marks in case of loss, Lisa and the Traveler decide to follow its tracks.

Lost Book

The Traveler, Paimon, and Lisa trace the book at a ruin in Starfell Valley, where the latter deduces that the book must have been stolen by the Abyss Order. The trio defeat the thief, a Cryo Abyss Mage named Emery, who believed the book contains eldritch secrets. Upon finding it, however, the Traveler realizes it is but an ordinary storybook, The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies, which Lisa allows them to borrow indefinitely out of gratitude, and tells them to register with her at the library.

There, Lisa tells the Traveler that she has received a new batch of the Teyvat Travel Guide books; she allows them to take one, in this case the Mondstadt volume, as well as gives them some souvenirs as gratitude for their assistance, before telling them to look forward to their next stroll together.

Noctua (Diluc)

    Act I: Darknight Hero's Alibi
Released: v1.0 "Welcome to Teyvat" (September 28, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 18
Prerequisite Quest: "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act III)

Legend of the Darknight Hero

Charles, bartender at Angel's Share, tells the Traveler stories about a "Darknight Hero" prowling the City at night. Asking around the cityfolk, they learn from Margaret, proprietress of the Cat's Tail bar, that he is wealthy; from Lawrence, a Knight of Favonius posted at the city gates, that he is a vigilante; and from Donna, that he holds a Pyro Vision.

Later that night, at the City's northern alleyway, the duo discover the Darknight Hero to be Diluc, who is just about done defeating a Cryo Abyss Mage and expresses indifference at the title people gave him. Having noticed a recent surge in Abyss Order activity, he nevertheless refuses to let the Knights get involved, much less learn his identity, then helps the Traveler fight off the Mage's hilichurl lackeys before making himself scarce just as Huffman, a Knight of Favonius working as city guard, arrives at the scene, to whom Paimon nearly gives Diluc away.

Darknight Hero's Crisis

At the Knights' headquarters, the Traveler and Paimon visit Huffman, who informs them that the Abyss Order has recently sent a letter waging war against the Darknight Hero, parts of which have yet to be deciphered, hoping to coordinate with him, as the Order's declaration threatens all of Mondstadt.

The duo report back to Diluc at Dawn Winery, who has already learned of the declaration through his contacts. Again, he declines to coordinate with the Knights, knowing the Order is taking advantage of their frosty relations, but neither is he willing to leave the people to the Order's mercy. Hence, he asks the Traveler to help him decipher the letter in full by clearing out an Order stronghold near the Temple of the Lion. Having tortured the information out of a Hydro Abyss Mage named Landrich, Diluc learns that the Order has amassed a large force to attack the City the following night.

Outside the stronghold, Diluc orders the Traveler to head for Angel's Share while he returns home to prepare. There, the duo encounter Huffman, who informs them that the Knights intend to uncover the Darknight Hero's identity and monitor his actions lest his presence becomes a threat, what with the Order's vendetta against him. Kaeya then enters and tells Huffman to keep tabs on Diluc, having been tipped off that he has frequented the tavern as of late.

Darknight Hero's Alibi

Back at the Dawn Winery, the Traveler and Paimon alert Diluc, who correctly suspects Kaeya's hand in trying to exposing his identity, so he devises a plan to maintain his cover, starting with asking the duo to collect Mist Flowers to be given to Connor, the Winery's veteran brewer, to concoct a potent slime bait, which upon testing attracted dozens of slimes.

Returning to Angel's Share, with Diluc behind the counter, the Traveler and Paimon distract Huffman by pretending to be customers who had to leave to pick their purse, while they head to the side gate and place the bait. The duo return to find Huffman being alerted by Guy, the Knight responsible for the side gate, of a horde of slimes there; seeing that Huffman is reluctant to part with the Dandelion Wine he ordered, Diluc shames him into performing his duties. With the Knights distracted by slimes, Diluc, the Traveler, and Paimon head to the main gate to deal with a group of Abyss Mages and their hilichurl lackeys.

The trio return to Angel's Share ahead of Huffman, who becomes suspicious at the sight of an exhausted Traveler and begins questioning the other patrons about Diluc's activities, to which they respond that he has always been behind the counter. Once a confused Huffman left, Diluc reveals that his "patrons" are actually his Winery staff, except Kaeya, who has been spying on Diluc all this time; nevertheless, the Cavalry Captain is not as interested in reporting him as observing him, reassuring Diluc that his secret is safe, as well as expressing relief that he no longer works alone. After Kaeya also left, Diluc thanks the Traveler for their assistance and encourages them to come to him whenever they need help.

Lupus Minor (Razor)

Act I: The Meaning of Lupical
Released: v1.0 "Welcome to Teyvat" (September 28, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 21
Prerequisite Quest: "Wind, Courage, and Wings" (Lepus [Amber] Story Quest, Act I)
World Effect: Unlocks the "Wolf of the North Challenge" Trounce Domain (Andrius as a weekly boss)

Wolves' Territory

While exploring the rest of Mondstadt, the Traveler and Paimon reach Wolvendom, a secluded valley west of the City across Cider Lake, where they are assisted by a mysterious boy in fending off a horde of slimes. The boy introduces himself as Razor, who has been living almost all his life in the company of wolves. Because he upset the wolf pack's hunting when he saved the Traveler, who he recognizes as a Knight of Favonius, he asks them to gather meat on his behalf as compensation. Upon presenting the meat, Razor thinks it is still not enough, though at least they were better at hunting than a "red burny girl" from the Knights who often accidentally sets Wolvendom on fire.

Another Day as an Outrider!

Upon returning to the City, the Traveler finds Amber and asks her if she met Razor before. Amber denies knowing him, then asks them to join her investigation of reports of wolf attacks at Drunkard Gorge and Springvale, where along the way they rescue Siegfria, a porter for Springvale, from hilichurls.

Ravaged by Wolves

At Springvale, the Traveler, Paimon, and Amber meet Draff, leader of the hunting bands of Springvale, investigating a recent wolf attack. The trio inspect the surroundings and find claw marks, broken wolf teeth, wolf furs, and Wolfhooks, thorny berries unique to Wolvendom. Despite Amber imploring for calm, a group of hotheaded youths decide to take matters into their own hands and hunt down the wolves.

Fate's Chosen Lupical

Getting to Wolvendom ahead of the youths, Amber and Razor meet for the first time, and while the latter does not recognize the former as the "burny red girl," he accepts her help. When Razor smells blood, Amber fears that the wolves may have attacked the villagers, though he vouches for the innocence of his "lupical," or wolf family, placing the blame on a newly-arrived horde of black wolves. After encountering an injured wolf from his lupical, Razor asks the Traveler to gather Wolfhooks to be used as medicine, while he answers Amber's questions about Wolvendom.

The Traveler returns just in time to witness the youths from Springvale blame Razor for the attacks. The disturbance enrages the spirit of Andrius, better known as "Boreas," Wolf of the North and one of the Four Winds; when Razor protects the youths from his fury, he orders the boy to fight him to clear their name in their stead. With the Traveler's aid, Razor calms down Boreas, who confirms that the wolves behind the attacks were outsiders, even as he dissuades Razor from assisting him on account of his human heritage. Boreas then turns to the Traveler and, impressed at their abilities, invites them to a friendly spar in the future.

After Boreas disappears, Razor is upset that he cannot help his lupical and is now beginning to question where he truly belongs, though he eventually declines Amber's invitation to seek refuge in the City, instead simply thanking her for helping clear his lupical's name before returning to the mountains.

Trifolium (Klee)

    Act I: True Treasure
Release: v1.0 "Welcome to Teyvat" (September 28, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 32 (lowered to 21 throughout the duration of the "Midsummer Island Adventure" event)
Prerequisite Quests: "Darknight Hero's Alibi" (Noctua [Diluc] Story Quest, Act I); "The Meaning of Lupical" (Lupus Minor [Razor] Story Quest, Act I)

Who Is Mondstadt's Strongest Fighter?

At Angel's Share, the Traveler and Paimon find Patton, the bar's barker, lamenting that he cannot join in on an ongoing debate inside over who is the strongest fighter in all of Mondstadt. Curious, they head inside to hear customers putting in their own candidates, ranging between Stanley, the "Darknight Hero," who the Traveler knew as Diluc, Jean, and even a little girl who reportedly put the Stormbearer Mountains to the torch. Faced with such diverse opinions, the duo head to the Knights of Favonius' headquarters and ask Jean for hers; after admitting she has no opinion on the matter, she alerts them to a recent sighting of an Abyss Mage lurking about the City.

Outside Jean's office, the duo bump into a little girl who drops a letter containing "survival rules" written for her by Kaeya to prevent her from unwittingly hurting people. Introducing herself as Klee, she explains that she is heading out to the Whispering Woods after learning that her treasure buried therein went missing; the duo agree to help her, even as Paimon wonders whether she was the girl mentioned in the earlier discussion.

The Mystery of the Girl in Red's Treasure

In the Woods, the trio run into a Pyro Abyss Mage, who Paimon thinks was the one Jean warned her and the Traveler about earlier, and chase after him after he fled into a dungeon.

Inside, the trio confront "Mr. Fluffball," as the Abyss Mage was called by Klee, who is unaware of the dangers posed by the Abyss Order and thinks he is role-playing. The Mage claims that the human proclivity for gossiping has allowed him to deduce that Klee is the strongest fighter in all of Mondstadt, and tries to use her treasure against them, unaware that it is a bomb, accidentally killing himself. Horrified at having apparently broken one of her survival rules, Klee runs off, with the Traveler and Paimon behind her.

A Very Volatile Treasure

Back at the Knights' headquarters, the Traveler and Paimon find Klee profusely apologizing to Jean for hurting someone, before they clarify to the Acting Grand Master that the victim was an Abyss Mage. To the girl's surprise, Jean apologizes to her for not having told her of the Abyss Order, and to reward her accidental heroism, she allows her to attend next year's Ludi Harpastum festival; the celebration is short-lived, however, when Jean also deduces that the bomb was meant to be used to blow up fish at Starfell Lake, itself a violation of Klee's survival rules, causing the little girl to resign herself to solitary confinement.

After Klee leaves, Jean explains to the Traveler that Klee is a Knight of Favonius, and that despite her age, to say nothing of her penchant for troublemaking, the Knights still care for her and asks the Traveler to do the same. Before leaving the headquarters, they overhear Klee in her confinement room developing another bomb to show off in the next Ludi Harpastum.

When the West Wind Arises

While wandering around the City of Mondstadt, the Traveler and Paimon are flagged by Sara, who asks them to send Jean a commission to clear the road between the City and Springvale of hilichurls; in addition, she has them head for Angel's Share, where Charles also has a commission for Jean to send him the Dawn Winery's quarterly tax returns so it can calculate its expenditures, even as he worries about Jean overworking herself. On their way they bump into Margaret, who also has a commission for Jean to help her find her pet cat Prince, with the promise of free drinks.

While hearing the Traveler's report about the commissions, however, Jean suddenly faints. The Traveler brings her to the Favonius Cathedral and into the care of Barbara, who asks the Traveler to return to the Knights' headquarters to act in Jean's stead. There they meet Kaeya, who assigns them with overseeing the three commissions.

With the three commissions accounted for, the Traveler heads back for the Favonius Cathedral, only to learn from Barbara that Jean has already left for the Symbol of Mondstadt's Hero, where she usually goes for alone time.

There, Jean thanks the Traveler and Paimon for their assistance, and confesses to her insecurities over living up to her role model Vennessa, founding Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius who according to legend was apotheosized on where the great tree now stands. The trio are then ambushed by Siegbald, a Pyro Abyss Mage, who tries to kill a weakened Jean, only to be forced to retreat at the sight of the Traveler, with whom Jean gives chase and defeats him. Afterwards, Jean is informed by Swan, a Knight of Favonius posted at the main gate, to make haste to Angel's Share for reasons undisclosed.

Upon arriving at the tavern, Jean is greeted with a surprise party for her from Amber, Lisa, Kaeya, Venti, Barbara, and even Diluc, who despite his reluctance to associate with the Knights chose to host the party as a show of gratitude for Jean's exemplary service. Upstairs, Jean thanks the Traveler and their friends for lifting her spirits and hopes that the Traveler will continue to help the Knights in the foreseeable future.

Carmen Dei (Venti/Barbatos)

Act I: Should You Be Trapped in a Windless Land
Release: v1.0 "Welcome to Teyvat" (September 28, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 36
Prerequisite Quest: "True Treasure" (Trifolium [Klee] Story Quest, Act I)

A Child's Secret

While discussing imaginary friends on the streets of the City of Mondstadt, and how children lose them once they grow up, the Traveler and Paimon meet Venti, who asks them to test a special monocle, made by Lisa with materials from Sumeru. Using the device, he trio see that children have imaginary friends, ranging from fellow children to Ruin Guards, while almost all adults have none, and some adolescents still have theirs, such as Ellin, an applicant squire for the Knights of Favonius, who imagines Jean teaching her. Noticing the trio, she asks the Traveler to relay a message for her friend Jack, who is currently exploring the Temple of the Lion with Stanley.

The South Wind Brings Adventure

The trio run onto Jack and Stanley just in time to rescue them from a Cryo Abyss Mage and its hilichurl lackeys. Afterwards, as the Traveler relays Ellin's message to Jack that she cannot attend their next meeting, Stanley is annoyed that the Traveler has not heard of his exploits, such as that time he braved Mare Jivari, a windless desert said to trap the souls those lost beneath its sands, including a traveling companion of his. To the trio's surprise, the monocle detects an imaginary friend next to him.

After Stanley left, Jack tells the trio that he is helping Stanley retrieve the Sword of Brilliant Valor and Shield of Magnificent Honor, artifacts he once left behind at Dadaupa Gorge and which once belonged to Vennessa, in order to prove his mettle as an adventurer to his skeptical parents. Unbeknownst to them, Stanley is overhearing their conversation.

Lionfang's Legacy

To Jack's disappointment, the sword, retrieved after crashing a hilichurl ceremony, and the shield, which a hilichurl can be either talked or intimidated into relinquishing, seem unremarkable, though Venti convinces him otherwise, leading Jack to believe that they are indeed authentic. After Jack left to tell his parents, Venti notices Stanley, who the Traveler and Paimon accuse of being a fraud. After Stanley bids them farewell on a "stroll," Venti muses that he is the sort of person who is both unable to let go of the past and gave up on the present, thus he asks the duo to meet him and Stanley at Angel's Share.

Should You Be Trapped in a Windless Land

Back at the tavern, the trio see a drunken Stanley bemoaning what seems to be his own demise, leading Venti to conclude that while the Stanley of his tall tales was real, the one before them is not. Jack comes to relay the good news of his parents's approval of his dreams and thanks Stanley for helping him, before excusing himself upon seeing his state. Afterwards, Stanley thanks the trio for not exposing him, lest he crush the rookie's dreams, even as he laments slowly forgetting the life and deeds of the real Stanley, who was an acquaintance of his, as well as fearing that his soul will never return from Mare Jivari.

Unable to stand seeing him despair, Venti reveals himself as Barbatos to Stanley, who he addresses under his true name, Hans Archibald, who as a rookie adventurer was saved by the real Stanley at the cost of his own life long ago at Mare Jivari. The Archon also reveals that the real Stanley's soul has always been with him, and encourages Hans to hand his friend's soul to him, so that both of them can finally find peace.

Relieved of his burden, "Stanley"/Hans thanks Venti for giving him closure and freeing him to be more honest in his dealings with Jack in the future before leaving. Venti, too, leaves to pick up wine from Jack while asking the Traveler to meet him at the "usual place," while an overhearing Diluc hopes that the legacy of Stanley will live on.

Climbing to the hands of the statue of Barbatos outside the Favonius Cathedral, the Traveler finds Venti, who admits that Hans' situation reminded him of his own twenty-six centuries ago. Long before his ascent to power, he was but a wisp living under the tyranny of Decarabian, god of storms, who sealed off the old city of Mondstadt, now known as Stormterror's Lair, behind a windy barrier. When he met a young bard who sang of freedom, they led a revolt against the god, and though they won, the bard lost his life, and the wisp has since assumed his form in his honor. Venti ends their conversation by reciting a song of his late friend.

Astrolabos (Mona)

Act I: Beyond This World's Stars
Released: v1.0 patch (October 26, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 38
Prerequisite Quests: "Darknight Hero's Alibi" (Noctua [Diluc] Story Quest, Act I); "True Treasure" (Trifolium [Klee] Story Quest, Act I)

Astrology and the 50-Year Pact

As the Traveler and Paimon leave Liyue Harbor, they meet Mona Megistus, a young astrologist who correctly identifies the former as not being of Teyvat. Having been sent by her teacher to retrieve a box in Mondstadt, in fulfillment of an agreement with a friend and rival fifty years ago, she takes advantage of said friend/rival's departure from Mondstadt to take on the current custodian of the box, and so tries to recruit the Traveler as her "disciple" so she can prove the power of astrology.

En route, Mona pays a visit to the Emerald Maple Inn to say farewell to its proprietor Mr. Zhu and thank him for providing her affordable meals. In return, Zhu asks for her help in retrieving a ring that had been swallowed by slimes, which Mona accepts after being offered a hefty sum of Mora, with the Traveler assisting her through using leftover slime bait they once made for Diluc.

To Mondstadt

At Wangshu Inn, the Traveler and Paimon order a banquet's worth of meals, while Mona meekly settles on vegetarian noodles because their bill is now worth all of her reward from Zhu, leading Paimon to suspect that Mona is strapped on cash and has not eaten for days. The Traveler climbs upstairs to cook a dish for Mona, with Huai'an, the resident innkeeper, teaching them how to cook Golden Crab. Afterwards, the trio head north to Stone Gate, the checkpoint between Liyue and Mondstadt.

Upon passing by Stone Gate, the trio are met by a group of self-proclaimed merchants who offer them a cart ride. However, Mona is unconvinced, and correctly identifying them as bandits, beats them with ease, revealing to the Traveler that astrologists can read people's personalities and destinies, though she is perplexed by her inability to read those of the Traveler, and hopes retrieving the box can help her do so.

A Bewildering Fate

Finally arriving at the City of Mondstadt, the trio are surprised to learn that Klee is the aforementioned custodian, and that her mother Alice was the old friend/rival of Mona's master. To the astrologist's disappointment, Klee was taught nothing but bomb-making, meaning she is not able to engage the girl in a contest. Nevertheless, there is the matter of the box Mona's master wanted to retrieve, so Klee leads the trio to her treasure trove at Windrise.

Klee goes ahead of the trio, along the way dropping several items, including a book which Mona reads; to her disappointment, it is a diary rather than a magical tome. After dealing with Dendro Slimes, the trio catch up to Klee and the now-empty box, who admits that she is using it to store her bombs, and points that the diary is among its original contents; to Mona's embarrassment, she realizes that it belonged to her master, who explicitly forbade her from reading it; in turn, Klee panics and flees, thinking she will get in trouble again.

In the City, the Traveler, out of sympathy for Mona being homeless, penniless, and too afraid to face her master, asks Katheryne for lodging, who then points to a sealed laboratory. After Mona opens it up with astromancy, its owner Goth offers to rent the house to her for the lowest possible price, which she accepts. Mona thanks the Traveler for their assistance, though it would take time before she can divine their fortune. Afterwards, Paimon, worried for Mona's wellbeing given the length of their journey, suggests checking in on her from time to time.

Princeps Cretaceus (Albedo)

    Act I: Traveler Observation Report
Released: v1.2 "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" (December 23, 2020)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 40 (20 throughout The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event)
Prerequisite Quest: "For a Tomorrow Without Tears" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act II)

The Rumored Alchemist

While visiting the alchemy stall in the City of Mondstadt, instead of Timaeus as usual, the Traveler and Paimon find a green-haired girl minding the stall. Introducing herself as Sucrose, she informs them that Timaeus is currently assisting their teacher Albedo, a master alchemist and a captain of the Knights of Favonius, with an experiment that seems to be troubling him lately. She then points to her master's location at Dragonspine, a snow-capped, forbidding mountain west of Dadaupa Gorge, and help him with his work.

The Genius Researcher and the Seed of Another World

At the foot of Dragonspine, the duo walk in on Barbara trying to fetch Rosaria, a sharp-tongued nun, for choir practice ahead of an important religious ceremony, albeit in vain, with Rosaria instead convincing her to return lest she miss the ceremony. She then catches the duo eavesdropping on them, and after recognizing the Traveler and intuiting their purpose for visiting Dragonspine, she offers her help in tracking down Albedo.

The trio find the master alchemist sketching dangerously close to a group of hilichurls, who were alerted to their presence and attack. Despite the disturbance, Albedo is relieved that he was almost done with his work, and begins to explain alchemy to the Traveler and Paimon, while a bored Rosaria takes her leave. Correctly intuiting that the Traveler is not a native of Teyvat, Albedo proposes that they be his test subject in his latest experiment, whilst Rosaria watches them from afar, assessing the risk Albedo may pose to Mondstadt.

The First Experiment: Elements

For his first trial, Albedo tests the Traveler's ability to use elements even without a Vision. After a preliminary round involving fighting slimes, he has them collect Starsilver Catalysts so he can concoct a special potion for the Traveler to ingest so he can monitor their aptitude. Arriving at his campsite, where Timaeus awaits, Albedo completes the concoction and has the Traveler drink it, with the resulting reaction being no different from that of ordinary humans.

The Second Experiment: The World

For the second, Albedo has the Traveler try to telepathically break a pillar, they fail to do so. Believing element-imbued food is required, and because he is also hungry, Albedo has the Traveler cook some Sunshine Sprat and try again. When that, too, fails, Albedo theorizes that the natural laws of Teyvat may be affecting their powers. Afterwards, Albedo asks the Traveler to find some alchemy materials he misplaced; upon having done so and admitting to using the power of Elemental Sight, he is a bit dismayed, claiming such a power is rare but not unheard of.

The Third Experiment: Life

For the third, Albedo has the Traveler test their agility by climbing down the mountain and then swimming across a lake. While the results are above-average, Albedo still wonders whether or not they are affected by the natural laws of Teyvat. When Paimon expresses impatience, Albedo admits that he loves experimenting, but often has fleeting interests and finds little satisfaction from learning the truth. Nonetheless, he asks them to humor him one last time, asking them to meet him at some ruins at the south of the mountain.

The Final Experiment: Withering Glory

For the fourth and final test, Albedo observes the Traveler's level of intellect by having them unlock a mechanism in front of a pool of water. After completing the test, the waters recede to reveal a series of strange scripts, which Albedo makes copies of before returning to the camp. However, the trio are intercepted by Rosaria, who demands an explanation from them. After the Traveler and Paimon convince her that they mean no harm, Rosaria relents and instead decides to copy the scripts and set up a patrol, but not before warning them that the same could not be said of Albedo.

Returning to Albedo's camp, he notifies the Traveler that, despite their aptitudes being largely comparable to an average Teyvatian, he has found some inspiration from their work and shows an otherworldly seed that blooms into a flower. As the Traveler and Paimon leave, Albedo notices some sediment at the bottom of the vial of the potion the Traveler ingested earlier, leading him to cryptically state that the Traveler, like himself, is "made of chalk," in contrast to the earth of the average Teyvatian, and wonders if they would be able to stop him should he lose control of himself one day.

Aphros Delos (Eula)

Act I: The Spindrift Shall Never Return to the Sea
Released: v1.5 "Beneath the Light of Jadeite" (April 28, 2021)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 40
Prerequisite Quest: "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act III)

Shadow of the Past

Jean summons the Traveler and Paimon into the headquarters of the Knights of Favonius for an emergency commission involving rumors of an alliance between the Fatui and Schubert Lawrence, scion of an infamous aristocratic clan that once ruled Mondstadt with an iron fist before being overthrown a thousand years ago by the nascent Knights led by Vennessa. Given centuries of tensions between the two sides, Jean hopes that the Traveler, as an outsider, may be able to infiltrate the Clan and investigate their dealings.

The duo find Schubert along the northern walls of the City of Mondstadt, who takes umbrage at their perceived lack of etiquette, waxing nostalgic of the time when the nobility ruled Mondstadt and enforced good manners before telling them off. Returning to the Knights' headquarters dejected, the duo run into Amber, who recommends them to consult her friend Eula, captain of the Knights' Fourth Company and a black sheep of the Lawrence Clan, who she believes is currently on patrol at the Stormbearer Mountains.

After getting into a fight with Fatui Skirmishers, the Traveler and Paimon are aided by a woman who is annoyed at the Traveler nearly defeating them, who she had been tailing for some time, and even swears vengeance against them, much to their confusion. Recognizing her as Eula, they explain that they are on orders from Jean to investigate Schubert, who she reveals to be her uncle, and that they have come to learn etiquette of her, which she accepts out of curiosity towards the Traveler who made her swear vengeance more than once.

Speech and Etiquette

Back in the City, Eula tries to teach the Traveler how to speak like a noble through flowery language that can be deferential or imperative as needed. At Paimon's insistence, Eula shows them a live demonstration with some cityfolk; unfortunately, her tactless approach, compounded with her Clan's ill repute, resulted in abject failure. An embarrassed Paimon apologizes to Eula, which she takes in stride, admitting her Clan has yet to live down its historical atrocities. After Paimon assures her that the Traveler is a fast learner, Eula asks them to follow her to Dragonspine to hone their movement and fighting styles.

After completing a pair of time trials—a relay, followed by a Ley Line Monolith defense—the trio return to the City and pay a visit at Good Hunter, where they are joined by Amber, to order a special dish to bribe Schubert with. While the four dine, both Sara and Amber reassure the Traveler that, for all her talk of revenge, Eula is a kinder woman than her vocabulary would suggest; in addition, the former expresses some dismay that most of her fellow citizens have yet to warm up to Eula on account of her controversial lineage, recalling a time when cityfolk and Clansmen alike protested her admission to the Knights of Favonius.

Through the Motions, to the Heart

With the special dish finished, Eula points the Traveler to Schubert's hilltop hangout near Springvale, overlooking the City. Unlike their previous outing, the Traveler and Paimon are more successful in winning Schubert over, who invites them to meet a group of overseas allies camped out below, who would help restore the Lawrence Clan to its former glory.

True to Jean's report, Schubert's aforementioned allies are the Fatui, who have reclaimed the lair the Traveler cleaned up not so long ago while searching for the stolen Holy Lyre der Himmel. Despite suspicions from the Fatui, especially their leader Sergei, Schubert orders them to let a disguised Traveler in on their schemes, revealing that the detachment are under his payroll, and that the Clan's backing is the only reason the Fatui has yet to be ran out of Mondstadt. Once Schubert provides Sergei a diagram of the northern wall of the City and its side entrance, as well as the schedule of its patrol, the Traveler reveals themselves and attacks the Fatui.

Schubert tries to escape, only to be arrested by Eula, who not only rejects her uncle's offer to get back into the Clan's good graces by betraying the Knights, but also excoriates him for his treachery threatening the millennium-old peace and liberty of Mondstadt for the sake of ego. After her fellow Knights take Schubert away, the Traveler alerts her that the Fatui had taken the diagram and joins her pursuit. After defeating Sergei and the remaining Fatui, Eula retrieves the diagram, and reassures the Traveler that while they may have already replicated it, without Schubert as their man within the walls the Fatui would be hard-pressed to infiltrate the City without resorting to open warfare, hence compromising the façade of diplomatic relations with the Knights. She deems her vendetta against the Traveler consummated when she helped them clear the hideout and thanks them for their help, with a warning not to steal her targets next time.

Barbara

    Act I: Wellspring of Healing
Released: v1.4 "Invitation of Windblume" (March 17, 2021)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 26
Prerequisite Quest: "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act III)

[Start] Sister Victoria's Vexation

[Sister Victoria's Vexation] Victoria, a senior nun at the Church of Favonius, is concerned that Barbara has yet to return from gathering Wolfhooks at Wolvendom, so the Traveler and Paimon volunteer to look for her. There they find Barbara, who has been searching for red Wolfhooks, which, to her bafflement, have become scarce lately. They hear someone shouting, also looking for Barbara. The Traveler is then given the choice to either find the source of the voice or help Barbara hide.

[Branch A] Sudden Shouting

[Sudden Shouting] Should the Traveler choose to confront the voice, they find Albert, a notorious Barbara fanboy, who claims to have come to help her gather Wolfhooks. [Albert Never Gives Up] The Traveler can then try to forcibly dissuade Albert from wandering further into Wolvendom, only for his resolve to grow, forcing them to buy Barbara time to flee by pretending to join him on his search [Ending A: Untimely Enthusiasm]. [Albert Is Amenable to Reason] Alternatively, they can subtly convince him to give up his search and give them the red Wolfhooks he found in case they find Barbara.
[Temporary Relief from the Fanfare] Had the Traveler helped Barbara hide, or at least convinced Albert to give up his search, she reveals that she is foraging for ingredients for a cough medication for Tunner, an elderly farmer at the Dawn Winery, as well as take a break from her work. [from Albert Is Amenable to Reason] Had the Traveler procured the red Wolfhooks from Albert, Barbara felt a bit guilty for lying to him about her absence; [Of Wolfhooks Red] otherwise, they will volunteer to help her find the red Wolfhooks, during which Barbara reveals that she was inspired to become a clergywoman by her father Seamus Pegg, Seneschal of the Church of Favonius, who had joined Varka's expedition, with her older sister Jean, to whom she looks up, busy governing the Knights in Varka's place.

[Branch B1] The Church's Affairs

[The Church's Affairs] Upon returning to the City, the Traveler reports back to Victoria on Barbara's behalf while the latter visits Tunner. [Cleanliness First] Inside the Favonius Cathedral, they also volunteer clean the interior, finishing just as Barbara returns. [Deaconess's Gratitude] As thanks for their help, Barbara invites them for a treat, either with her homemade Chilibrew or from Cat's Tail. If the Traveler decides to try out Barbara's Chilibrew, they can then decide whether to stick with Barbara for her protection or split up to hasten the search.

[Branch B2-A1] The First Chilibrew Ingredient

[Barbara's Home-Made Chilibrew] If the Traveler decides to try Barbara's brew and split up the search, Barbara asks the Traveler to collect Jueyun Chili from Stone Gate while she picks herbs at the Whispering Woods, but not before asking them to tell Victoria of her itinerary, who explains that she needed to do so for her own safety. [A Meeting Mysteriously Missed] Upon returning, the duo become concerned that Barbara has yet to return.

[Branch B2-A2] Knight and Deaconess, Ready for Battle!

[Knight and Deaconess, Ready for Battle!] Heading into the Woods, they find Barbara hiding from Treasure Hoarders harassing a Liyuan merchant; after driving the Hoarders away, the merchant, Caishan, offers them a reward for rescuing her, which can be either Caishan's Chilibrew or a Sweet Flower for Barbara's own brew. [A Spicy Brew] If the Traveler chooses the former option, they and Barbara try the concoction, which even the latter, who likes spicy food, finds too spicy [Ending B: A Fiery Flavor From Liyue]. If the latter, they and Barbara return to the City, where the latter makes her Chilibrew [see Homemade Chilibrew, below].

[Branch B2-B1] The Second Chilibrew Ingredient

[The Second Chilibrew Ingredient] If the Traveler decides to try Barbara's brew and keep her company, the trio head to the Whispering Wood, where they find a hunter named Uwe who claims to need healing, even as his confused details about himself made him suspect in the Traveler's eyes.

[Branch B2-B2-A] Ulterior Motive...?

[Ulterior Motive...?] Should the Traveler follow their instinct and confront Uwe while Barbara is away, the latter reveals himself as a Treasure Hoarder, feigns recovering, and tries to flee, only to be fought off by them, leaving Barbara mildly disappointed as she thought he did need healing [Ending D: Incompletely Cured].

[Branch B2-B2-B1] Healing Is My Job

[Healing Is My Job] Alternatively, if they follow Barbara and join her in picking Small Lamp Grasses, Uwe, moved by Barbara's kindness, confesses to being a Hoarder who tried to feign injury, only to be hurt for real by monsters, before leaving them a Sweet Flower as a token of apology; afterwards, they return to the City, where Barbara prepares her Chilibrew [see Homemade Chilibrew, below].

[Branch B2-A3 or B2-B2-B2] Homemade Chilibrew

[Home-Made Chilibrew] After obtaining Sweet Flowers from either Caishan or Uwe, the Traveler, Paimon, and Barbara return to the City, where the latter makes her Chilibrew. While enjoying their drinks in a garden next to the Adventurers' Guild office, she reveals to the two that her affinity for the drink originated from her habit of chewing Jueyun Chili to keep herself awake during choir practice, later adding Sweet Flowers at Sara's suggestion to temper the spice; the Traveler is impressed at her determination, though Barbara downplays the praise, deeming her troubles trivial compared to the Traveler's, but offers to be a helping hand in the foreseeable future [Ending C: The Taste of Hard Work].

[Branch B2-C] A Very Special Beverage

[The Cat's Tail Specialty] If the Traveler chooses to go to Cat's Tail, Barbara informs them of its new, popular "Fantastic Summer-Serendipity Coral Sparkling Tea," and goes ahead to book their order before it runs out, delegating the Traveler with informing Victoria of her request for a half-day break, which the latter explains was for her safety. True to Victoria's concern, the Traveler finds Barbara surrounded by admirers, and after dispersing them, they go for a walk, during which Barbara expresses amazement at the Traveler winning Jean's trust such that they are appointed Honorary Knight of Favonius at so young an age. [Deacones's Time Off] Outside the City, Barbara admits to being too nice to refuse her fans, who are attracted to her kindness and her singing voice, and thanks them for supporting her [Ending E: A Holiday in Mondstadt].

Noelle

    Act I: Chivalric Training
Released: v1.4 "Invitation of Windblume" (March 17, 2021)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 26
Prerequisite Quest: "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act III)

[Start] Maid-in-Training

["Honorary Knight!"] On the outskirts of the City of Mondstadt, the Traveler and Paimon meet Noelle, an apprentice Knight of Favonius currently working as maid in their headquarters, who has been asking around her seniors lately for advice. The Traveler can either suggest that she start small or help with her training. At the latter option, Noelle admits to having made little progress with her training, to which the Traveler can suggest that she either build her strength or rest up.

[Branch A] The Art of Hospitality

[All of Life is Training] Should the Traveler encourage Noelle to start small, they assure her that, in addition to fighting threats to Mondstadt, being a Knight also entails doing seemingly menial work, not unlike what she does. [Guest from Afar] Upon returning to the City, they run into Alois, a foreign merchant who claims to have come to buy Mondstadter wine to sell to Liyue, but of whom both Traveler and Noelle grow suspicious, what with his failure to show his accreditation from the Ministry of Civil Affairs, accidentally revealing his intent to imitate the wines sold at Angel's Share and the recipes of Good Hunter, and growing paranoid when Noelle offers him a souvenir emblazoned with the emblem of the Knights.

[After Hospitality Comes...] At this point, the Traveler can directly confront him and drive him away, leaving Noelle a bit disheartened at her perceived negligence [Ending A: A Cold Reception]. [Guest from Afar, continued] Alternatively, they can guilt-trip Alois into confessing to be a fraudster; nevertheless, moved by Noelle's hospitality, he leaves with a promise to be a worthy visitor the next time around [Ending B: "Goodbye, Miss Maid!"].

[Branch B1] Noelle's Strength

[Training Ground] If the Traveler volunteers to help Noelle with her strength training, she demonstrates so in a session at the Knights' headquarters, though remains lacking in self-confidence, given that she kept failing her selection trials.

[Branch B2-A] Live Practice

[For More Experience] If the Traveler suggests she needs field experience, Noelle tries and struggles to defeating enemies at the Brightcrown Mountains on her own, later finding it easier defeating hilichurls attacking a man, whereupon she realizes that her true strength comes out only when defending people [Ending C: A Defender's Will Is Their Strength].

[Branch B2-B] Strength Training

[For Greater Strength] Alternatively, should the Traveler suggest that Noelle merely lacks strength, they suggest that she hone it by mining ores with her claymore at Dadaupa Gorge, where they help Belinda, a fellow Knight, clear a rockfall and defeat a lawachurl, a mature hilichurl, before getting carried away with mining [Ending D: A Maid Above Ground].

[Branch C1] Fleeting Leisure

[A Breather] Should the Traveler suggest that Noelle take a breather in between her training, they head for Good Hunter, where they meet a young woman named Beatrice, who is having trouble convincing Quinn, a fruit vendor, to take her on a date, and asks Noelle for advice on a gift, who in turn asks the Traveler.

[Branch C2] Gift and Intent

[It's the Heart That Matters] Should the Traveler assure Noelle that any gift is fine, they suggest a Mondstadt Grilled Fish, only for Quinn to claim to have already eaten, resulting in another failure for Beatrice. [The Almighty Maid and Her Impossible Task] Flustered, Noelle rushes back to the library poring over books about love [Ending E: A Conundrum Called Love].

[Sincerest of Gifts] On the other hand, should they advise Noelle to think carefully about the gift, the two buy an expensive gift from With Wind Comes Glory, then help Beatrice brainstorm ideal date locations by taking photographs, ultimately settling for Cape Oath, which results in her successfully asking Quinn out. [Promised Place] Afterwards, the Traveler and Noelle head underneath the Symbol of Mondstadt's Hero, where the latter gives them a paper rose as a symbol of cherished memories, unaware that it meant love for the Traveler, much to her embarrassment [Ending F: Whisper of the Paper Rose].

    Act II: Knightly Exam Prep
Released: v1.5 "Beneath the Light of Jadeite" (April 28, 2021)
Prerequisite Quest: "A New Star Approaches" (Archon Quest Chapter I, Act III)

[Start] Studious Maid

[Emergency Exam Prep] The Traveler and Paimon chance upon Noelle anxiously poring over books in the library at the Knights' headquarters, preparing for an entrance exam despite it being half a year away. The Traveler can either encourage her to have a change of scenery to help her reorient herself or directly take on the source of her stress. At the latter option, they can additionally suggest that Noelle either emulate the exams by taking up the one currently being conducted by the Mondstadt Adventurers' Guild, or imagine herself having passed the exams and trying to emulate her seniors.

[Branch A1] Journey to Liyue

[Levity in Liyue] Should the Traveler suggest to Noelle that she needed a change of scenery, they suggest taking her for a trip to Liyue Harbor, starting with Wanmin Restaurant, where its chef Mao, Xiangling's father, mistakes Noelle for a fully-fledged Knight. [Liyue Local Weaponry] At Hanfeng's Ironmongers, the trio meet Dugu Shuo, a young boy who role-plays as a warrior, who Noelle impresses with her weaponry. Afterwards, the Traveler suggests that Noelle visit either the Millelith or the Third-Round Knockout restaurant.

[Branch A2-A] Where the Millelith Stands Guard

[Crook-Catching Commission] If the Traveler and Noelle visit the Millelith, they are recruited by Sha'yin for a joint manhunt on a band of Mondstadt-based Treasure Hoarders currently hiding at Stone Gate; afterwards, the duo take a rest at the teahouse next to the checkpoint, where Noelle notes that, despite their differences in philosophy, both nations share the same desire for a better future for their people, and promises the Traveler to visit Liyue again after the exams [Ending A: Rest Amidst the Rocks].

[Branch A2-B] A Knight's Journey Through Liyue

[Emergency Story-Sourcing] If the Traveler and Noelle opt to visit the Third-Round Knockout restaurant, Noelle helps its resident poet Iron Tongue Tian find his inspiration for a new story by clearing out a hilichurl camp at Mount Tianheng, returning to find out that Tian has made an exaggerated account of her heroics, to her embarrassment [Ending B: "The Maid-Knight's Tale"].

[Branch B] Adventurer's Entrance Exam

[Can-Do Katheryne] If the Travler suggested that Noelle take the Adventurers' Guild exams as a preview of that of the Knights, Noelle consults Katheryne, who points to her Cyrus' whereabouts at Brightcrown Mountains. [Adventurer's Entrance Exam] There, the trio find Cyrus preparing the exams and sees her presence as an opportunity to refine them, consisting of a multiple-choice test on basic knowledge, another one on survival skills, and a field orientation involving defeating a nearby Ruin Guard.

[Imperfect Examination] If Noelle earns an imperfect test score, she rushes back to the library, despite Cyrus complimenting her performance, returning to studying frantically for the Knights' exams [Ending D: Points Deducted]. [Immaculate Examination] Otherwise, if she earns a perfect score, Cyrus will be so impressed he will try to recruit her into the Guild, with the Traveler having to take Noelle away on the pretext of studying for the Knights' exams [Ending C: Perfect Score].

[Branch C1] Noelle Rides Out

[Outrider 101] If the Traveler suggests that Noelle try to imitate her seniors, she tries Amber's ability to distract her enemies with her explosive stuffed toy, Baron Bunny, only for her version to fail to work as intended. At this point the Traveler suggests that she emulate someone else.

[Branch C2-A] Substitute Acting Grand Master Noelle

[In the Master's Image] If the Traveler suggests Jean, she tries the Acting Grand Master's habit of helping with mundane tasks, such as finding a monocle Marjorie imported from Sumeru. At the end of the day, Noelle realizes that she is fine as she is [Ending E: The One and Only Noelle].

[Branch C2-B] Noelle the Intelligence Operative

[Copying the Cavalry Captain] Alternatively, if the Traveler suggests Kaeya, she tries gathering information at Angel's Share, only to run into an ordinary day of cleaning the bar and taking care of drunken customers, at which point she realizes that seemingly mundane work is just as important as the defense of Mondstadt [Ending F: Work Made for a Maid].

Bennett

    Act I: Fantastic Voyage
Released: v1.4 "Invitation of Windblume" (March 17, 2021)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 26
Prerequisite Quest: "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act III)

[Start] Adventurous Acquaintance

In the Mondstadt Adventurers' Guild, the Traveler meets Bennett, a passionate adventurer who looks up to them as an inspiration, who asks to join them on an adventure, albeit as an observer, fearing that his penchant for attracting misfortune may hamper them. The Traveler can either suggest that Bennett do something else or agree to his request. At the former option, they can suggest either shopping around the City or take a walk outside. At the latter, Bennett recommends a high-bounty dungeon Fischl discovered recently in the vicinity of the Thousand Winds Temple, then asks them whether or not they prepare food ahead of an adventure. [Can't Make an Omelette Without Eggs] If the Traveler agrees, Bennett cooks up an egg dish of questionable quality; otherwise, the duo make haste.

[Branch A] Something... Other Than Adventure?

[With Wind Comes Glory Order] Should the Traveler decide that Bennett shop around, he fails to buy anything from With Wind Comes Glory. [Good Hunter's Opening Hours] Likewise, Good Hunter is currently reserved for an entire Snezhnayan delegation. [General Goods' Special Offer] Finally, he misses out on a half-price sale at the General Goods store the day before [Ending A: Fruitless Anticipation].

[Branch B] What Is This, a Day Trip?

[The Adventurer in the Dandelion Sea] Should the Traveler encourage Bennett to travel outside, their trip to Stormbearer Mountains do not go as planned. [Reap Without Sowing...?] First, they find the dandelions stripped bare, as well as empty treasure chests in an empty hilichurl camp. [Ad Astra...] Bennett's plans to glide down the Mountains are then spoiled by a freak thunderstorm which clears up shortly after Jack fetched him to look after his guardians and fellow adventurers [Ending B: Hasty Farewell].

[Branch C] Treacherous Thermadon

[Treacherous Thermadon] If the Traveler and Bennett cooked fried eggs before delving into the dungeon Fischl discovered, the duo encounter Royce, a former member of Bennett's adventuring team, who alternates between fury at getting stuck with Bennett anew and apologizing for deserting his party without so much a word. If the Traveler allows Bennett to give Royce his dish, the latter collapses from in inedibleness [Ending C: Taste Tester Royce]. Otherwise, should the Traveler remind Bennett to take care of himself, they go deeper into the dungeon and get stuck again, forcing Bennett to eat his dish in the meantime and collapse from the taste [Ending D: Ready to Make Sacrifices].

[Branch D] Expansive Eya

[Expansive Eya] If the Traveler claims that they immediately explore dungeons without eating, they and Bennett head for the dungeon. If the Traveler allows Bennet to solve the puzzles on his own, they end up stuck inside for a long time [Ending E: No Wonder It's a Top-Class Commission]. On the other hand, if the Traveler assists Bennett, they make it further into the dungeon and, against all odds, successfully clear a puzzle and retrieve a massive treasure trove, with Bennett thanking them for sticking through with him [Ending F: Fortunate Outcome].

Diona

Act I: The Cat and the Cocktail
Released: v1.5 "Beneath the Light of Jadeite" (April 28, 2021)
Minimum Adventure Rank: 26
Prerequisite Quest: "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" (Archon Quest Prologue, Act III)

[Start] The Cat's Tail Bartender

[The Cat's Tail Bartender] The Traveler and Paimon hear news that the Cat's Tail bar has a new, popular bartender, a young girl named Diona Kätzlein, who is nevertheless baffled at the popularity of her concoctions. Margaret asks the Traveler whether they came for her pet kittens or the drinks; at the latter option, a reluctant Diona accedes to the Traveler's request, threatening to deliberately make them a drink so horrible they will be turned off of alcohol for life, before asking whether the Traveler likes a special base or flavoring.

[Branch A] To Catch a Kitten

[What the Kitties Like] If the Traveler claims they are out to see the bar's kittens, Margaret informs them that they have gone to play elsewhere, [To Catch a Kitten] tasking them and Diona to find them, to the latter's annoyance. Depending on how the Traveler and Diona's conversation goes while searching for the kittens, either Diona gets annoyed at the Traveler for complimenting the kittens too much [Ending B: The Unfathomable Felines], or, should they compliment her enough, [When the Cats Come Home] she confides to the Traveler her attempts at sabotaging Mondstadt's wine culture, and promises them to a non-alcoholic treat in the future [Ending A: Cat Party].

[Branch B1] A Special Base Drink

[A Special Base Drink] If the Traveler chooses to order a drink with a special base, Diona suggests heading to Dadaupa Gorge, where she heard that hilichurls were brewing a strong-smelling energy tonic. At the entrance, they meet Allan, who informs Diona that her father Draff went deeper into the Gorge in a drunken stupor after a day of hunting, to her annoyance, revealing that her dislike for alcohol stems from witnessing his drunken antics.

[Branch B2] The Shadow Over Dadaupa

[The Shadow Over Dadaupa] After sneaking past the hilichurls, [Dead-Drunk Draff] Diona and the Traveler chance upon a wasted Draff, who claims to have found the hilichurls' concoction.

[Branch B3-A] Samachurl Herbal Soup

[Samachurl Herbal Soup] If the Traveler expresses skepticism, they take some of the concoction from the hilichurl camp, [A Sobering Affair] the smell of which was enough to force Draff to throw up his drink and sober up while Allan helps him return home [Ending C: "I... Only Had... a Little..."].

[Branch B3-B] The Shadow Over Dadaupa (continuation)

[Diona's Special] Otherwise, if the Traveler and Diona believe him, the latter verifies that Draff had the concoction, which she uses to create a sobering tonic; while Draff and Allan return to Springvale, the Traveler and Diona head back to Cat's Tail, where she admits that for some reason all her concoctions taste better than she'd prefer, before inviting the Traveler for their special treat [Ending D: Diona's Special].

[Branch C1] Special Cocktailing Condiments

[Special Cocktailing Condiments] If the Traveler chooses to order a drink with a special flavoring, Diona buys and forages ingredients, with the intention of deliberately creating a horrible drink. [A Chance Encounter...?] They then run into Connor, with whom Diona exchanges mixing tips, before the latter suggests that they head to Dawn Winery where she can experiment without raising eyebrows given that both Cat's Tail and Angel's Share, the Winery's flagship tavern, are competitors.

[Branch C2] Exchanging Pointers

[Exchanging Pointers] To Diona's chagrin, Elzer, head of Mondstadt's wineries guild, was present, thinking Connor has been sent to lure her into helping Elzer brainstorm ideas for a new drink. After observing Connor create a drink using Diona's ingredients, Diona instructs the Traveler to deliberately do the opposite of Connor's methods, before handing the concoction to her to finish it. To her dismay, Connor and Elzer find her concoction extremely tasty, with the Traveler's replication failing to generate the same reaction, to Diona's irritation [Ending E: The Ultimate Special].
