Should we make Binding Of Isaac redirect here? That's the situation for most articles about a work name beginning in a determiner.
"Squid has to go to market. He's had to go to market for as long as he's sucked water." Hide / Show RepliesMaking a work page redirect can be done by anyone. Just read Creating New Redirects and follow the rules and instructions.
Should we add a "fanfic recs" or "fan works" page for the game? It would also be a good idea to give fiend folio it's own page
Hide / Show RepliesAlso, the joke mod/Crack fic abortionbirth is mentioned in platform hell. Can we give them a page too?
This may be something that should be brought up elsewhere, but I think a few too many tropes for the game have been split off into subpages. The Binding of Isaac is only one game, a remake, and several expansions (plus tropes from Legend of Bum-bo, which probably needs its own page), yet there are over a dozen splits from main page tropes, YMMV, and Trivia. This may have been a consequence of so many entries being bloated in size, which was a big problem on main before I cleaned it up.
Edited by Aipom14 Hide / Show RepliesI think that Alternative Character Interpretation, Awesome Bosses, and Urban Legend of Zelda could be folded back into their main pages. Everything else has enough content to warrant its own page, however.
I've been seeing conflicting information on the ending stuff. The heartwarming page has it being said by Edmund that the new Repentance ending is simply more complicated than it seems and the tear jerker page has him giving a more definitive answer. Which is it and where's the sources for these?
Edited by LordTyph Hide / Show RepliesI can't find anything definitive on Twitter or Reddit about the ending other than statements like "the ending is always how I intended it to be, just how I told it changed over time", which is fairly vague, though it's very possible that there's more concrete stuff buried somewhere on either site. Not to mention that Edmund has always been pretty coy and jokey about the meanings of things in Isaac (the time he said that it was canon to Time Fcuk stands out), so I don't think taking anything at face value is too useful.
For the most part I'm just gonna write the page as if everything were up to personal interpretation since that seems fitting with the kind of story Isaac has, though I won't edit war over it either.
Is The Binding of Isaac the trope codifier for modern Rogue-lites? I don't think there were many games before 2011 with randomly generated dungeons with a heavy emphasis on both per-game progression involving finding items with a large array of mostly passive effects, and macrogame progression where you unlock more items and other facets for the randomized pool by playing, but not necessarily winning, runs.
100% more pronounceable then the leading brand!Given how that there are so many mods thanks to Afterbirth+'s modding tools, should there be a "recommended mods" page? There's one for Oblivion,Skyrim and Fallout 4,so it's not an entirely new thing.
No signature is witty after 10 posts. Why was the following
- Bittersweet Ending: The "Missing" ending can be interpreted as this. While Isaac is without a home, he survives his mom's murder attempt, and, according to Word of God, he eventually becomes the protagonist of Time Fcuk.
deleted from the main page?
Hide / Show RepliesProbably because Ending 17 continues directly on from Ending 15, and... Well... Isaac's dead.
The Ur-Gurdy thing mentioned in the Ymmv page is just a piece of fanart that went amok. And the "Rarely appears in Sheol" thing is just a Sheol-colored Womb in the original fanart.

Edited by DevinpokemontrainerHow should we categorize the bugfix in Rebirth that prevents the game from crashing if you manage to generate all the items in the game's inventory by simply spawning nothing but Breakfasts, like Bisnap has demonstrated in his breaking runs?
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Guys, guys, I have a brilliant idea.
Instead of listing Game-Breaker as a trope on the page for this work, which is famous for having Game Breakers, many of which are not subjective as the author himself acknowledges, discusses, showcases the gamebreaking combinations, let's just hide it in a commentary which you will only see as you edit the page.
This commentary will tell you to go to a different page.
That page will tell you go to another different page!
Do you like this amazing idea? I'm sure that makes a lot of sense. Let's implement this bullshit. This is a wiki, right? It's supposed to have links. Let's split the game breaker page into two pages, one for the original and wotl, another for rebirth too, more links, everyone is extremely happy all the time.
All of this comment is sarcastic.
I joined the police just to kill people. What's with the list of examples following the bit on Purposefully Overpowered? It's almost entirely focused on the items' drawbacks rather than explaining how they can actually be helpful.
The troper that added World of Pun claims they're everywhere, but I actively searched for them and found only four. So, either I'm missing a lot of puns, or that trope should be taken off. If there are indeed many puns in the game, some more examples should be added in my opinion.
Hide / Show RepliesIt's also an Zero-Context Example. I did change it to a Pun example, since the example context seems to fit.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI went through Nightmare Fuel Coloring Book trope and the entire page depicting The Binding of Isaac. The entire game is this, and I think it should be noted.
I went through the page and revised the ??? entries so that they actually use spoilers to hide relevant information about the character. Now we need to decide if we want to keep it hidden, or unspoiler it entirely.
As I mentioned in the edit summary, there's really no point in spoilering just the name "???", given that it adds no meaningful information about the character.
Regarding the Creepy Cute examples, it would be nice the explain how the characters are cute and creepy on the same time, because most of these current descriptions don't do that.
