YMMV / The Sarah Jane Adventures S1 E5-E6 "Warriors of Kudlak"

• Complete Monster: Mr. Mark Granthan is the human conspirator of Kudlak who lacks his boss' noble traits and intentions. Setting up multiple Combat 3000 arenas across the UK, Grantham allows Kudlak to kidnap the winners to be used as soldiers within a war in space — something that Grantham is aware of but uncaring so long as he gets to line his pockets. When Sarah and Maria are caught investigating by Grantham, he holds them at gunpoint.
• Humor Dissonance:To establish that he hasn't yet mastered humor, there's a scene where Luke tells Maria a joke that falls flat. Except his "cereal killer" joke is perfectly normal and genuinely funny for some viewers.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The episode ends with Luke asking Clyde to tell him about girls. Had the series lasted longer, Luke would have come out as gay. This eventually came to pass in "Farewell Sarah Jane".
