• Badass Decay: Won the Gimmick Battle Royal at WrestleMania XVII (which included Kamala, Sgt. Slaughter, Nikolai Volkoff and the Bushwhackers, not exactly spring chickens) because he was the only one who could not safely take the bump over the top rope to the floor.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Sheik served as one in the middle of a political crisis in Toronto. The mayor at the time, Rob Ford, had been suspected for months of using cocaine, with several media outlets claiming to have seen a video of it that informants were trying to sell. In November 2013, Ford abruptly admitted to the cocaine use during an unrelated morning press conference, causing a massive protest to form outside city hall. Enter the Iron Sheik, who showed up at city hall being pushed in a wheelchair, yelled at a media scrum, then virulently denounced the mayor and challenged him to an arm-wrestling competition before being asked to leave by security for being too loud. Amidst the backdrop of the mayor of North America's fifth-largest city admitting to drug abuse, Sheik's appearance and the news headlines it generated were downright surreal. His interview with the media must truly must be seen to be believed.

• Memetic Badass: He was nowhere near this popular before YouTube.
• Memetic Molester:
  • His preferred way of dealing with his enemies was to "put them in the camel clutch, break his back, fuck his ass, and make him humble!".
  • That one almost qualifies as an unintended Brick Joke or Ascended Meme. On the Insane Clown Posse's Juggalo Championshxt Wrestling Volume 1 DVD, Sheik defeated Izzy High. Right before Sheiky went for the finish, commentator "Diamond Donovan '3D' Douglas" (Violent J) said, "Now he's going to mount him in the ass and fuck him like the little bitch Izzy Gay is. Oh wait, that's just the Camel Clutch. Sorry."
  • The "raging boner" he had when he put the Camel Clutch on Hulk Hogan the night Hogan won the belt doesn't help refute this trope either.
