• Awesome Moments: This is a Crowning EPISODE of Awesome for Barclay. He's far more comfortable in his engineering role, he makes significant contributions to his team, he overcomes his fear of transporting, he actually pulls rank, and when his suspicions about the transporter are confirmed, he convinces the senior staff to take the system offline until a solution is found. A far cry from how he was introduced to us.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The episode actually features something happening before it was reality: hypochondriacs diagnosing themselves over the internet! In this case, Reg Barclay looking up symptoms for various diseases, including transporter psychosis.
  • The episode ends with Barclay getting through his fear of transporters only to get scared of spiders. In "Genesis", when the Enterprise crew changes into animals, guess which one Barclay becomes?
