• Alternative Character Interpretation: When Sarah is prodding Nyles over his life prior to being stuck, he says he can't remember even what was his job before ending up stuck in a time loop. Either it's just part of his insecurities and trying to have a careless life now or he genuinely can't recall anymore, given he's looping for decades.
• Jerkass Woobie:
  • Roy certainly leans the furthest into Jerkass territory, as he makes a habit of occasionally showing up to take revenge on Nyles, through murder or torture, knowing full well he'll just wake up the next day unscathed. He's also revealed to be a father of three who laments his lost chance of ever seeing his kids grow up.
  • Sarah is a self-centred person who is revealed to have slept with her sister's fiance the night before the wedding! She's also aware of the disappointment she's brought upon her family and is pretty quickly Driven to Suicide as soon as she starts looping with Nyles.
  • Nyles is the least jerkish of the three, but he is responsible for Roy and Sarah being caught in the time loop. He's also abandoned all hope of ever resuming his normal life and is becoming worn down by the daily routine by the time the movie begins.
• Rule of Cool: The dinosaurs, intentionally. There's absolutely no explanation given for why they should appear, other than the possibility that the time loop has generally made anything possible. The creators have said they put them in just because they really wanted to and they could. Their surprise appearance in the ending seems to be telling us that, even with the time loop ended, the new world Nyles and Sarah find themselves in isn't as mundane and depressing as Nyles feared it would be.
• Spiritual Successor: To Groundhog Day. While many films have adapted the concept, in terms of pure comedy and storytelling, as well as an update to the premise by having additional characters in the loop, this makes for a fresh presentation of a Ground Hog Day Loop story.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: The plane crashing into the ground after Nyles and Sarah take it out for a joyride is quite impressive.
