  • Adorkable:
    • Kagami Hayato. He attempts to do some cool situations, but ends up coming off as cute instead.
    • Similary, Kaida Haru's socially awkward personality and cute ikemen-like voice has gained some attraction for his fans.
    • While a capable leader in-lore and behind-the-scenes, on-stream Fura Kanato is adorably bubbly and energetic, with a penchant for clumsiness and a near complete inability to tolerate anything resembling a horror game. These traits certainly endear him to his viewers.
    • Aia Amare's delinquent characterization quickly gives way to a cute and dorky personality, only becoming more endearing as she attempts to deny her dorkiness with things such as bragging about her Dungeons & Dragons character. This has led to her being labeled "Aiadorkable".
    • Vantacrow Bringer’s dark and imposing anti-hero appearance would make one think he’d be the most serious of the Krisis wave. As soon as he debuted, said first impression gave way to his true personality as an excitable goofball who laughs at his own puns, denies being scared in horror games, and goes on strange tangents with his energy showing through his expressive model. Tellingly, when his genmates Wilson and Vezalius were asked what their first impression of Vanta was during Krisis’ group Q&A, both commented on his “gap moe”.
  • Archive Panic: Having to follow one's streams alone can be a meandering task, but with Nijisanji's large cast (over two hundred active members across all regions, with more than half of those in the main Japanese branch alone; Compare hololive's 50+, at the time of this writing), one will wonder if they'll have the time to watch even some of them and still keep up.
  • Awesome Music: Now with its own page.
  • Canon Fodder:
    • Yuhi Riri's lore is rife for speculation - she's a time traveller whose interference may have caused chaos throughout multiple timelines. Does she actually have an older sister? Are her alternate selves from different timelines or are some or all of them from "our" timeline but at different points? Who is this "sensei" character that multiple of her alternate selves have referred to? The apparent Canon Welding with other livers' lore (most prominently the now-graduated Mayuzumi Kai) also raises more questions.
    • VOLTACTION have fairly detailed and established lore, but there are still unanswered questions stemming from the nebulousness of their backstories.
      • Vague references to the work Kanato does for his mafia family have been made, but there has been no elaboration on exactly what this work entails.
      • How exactly Seraph and Akira left their previous professions as an assassin and spy respectively has yet to be explored. Especially in Seraph's case, as his younger self, Ares, has been shown to have violently rejected the notion of leaving a life of killing behind.
      • Ares himself is rife for this trope, since Seraph's Alternate Identity Amnesia means a lack of clarification on the details surrounding him. For example, it's unclear what point in Seraph's past that he represents, including whether said point is before or after he had befriended the other members of VOLTACTION.
    • Due to the vaguely interconnected nature of NijiEN's cast and stories (especially from Luxiem onward), fan theories abound.
      • What is the relation between Alban's fallen friend Victor Rias and Mysta Rias? Is Victor a sort of alternate universe counterpart (given the implication that Noctyx hails from somewhat differing timelines) or is he a descendant of Mysta's?
      • The questions Ike's appearance in Yugo's lore raises are multiple: first, how, when and why did Yugo come into Ike's care? Second, considering Yugo claims it'll still be some time before he's born in the current timeline, why does Ike look exactly the same when you would think he would be at least somewhat older by then (assuming Ike stays in the present)? What happened to Ike by the time Yugo got warped to the past? And what does Yugo mean when he says current Ike is "different" from Ike-sensei?
      • Speaking of Ike, his origins are ripe for fan theories due to their vagueness, as he remains the only member of Luxiem to not have a stated (in Luca and Vox's case) or implied (in Mysta and Shu's case) time and place he came from.
      • Kotoka's lore has left speculation as to the identity of the sensei she admires (Ike or Yugo?). The silhouette of the sensei's hair could be either of them, but Kotoka having headphones similar to Yugo's also caught some attention from the fans, especially due to the timing of XSOLEIL's debut and Yugo's departure from the company.
      • What's Fulgur's story? Most of the information he's shared is about his Legatus persona.
      • How did Ver join XSOLEIL? His lore video only shows us what he does in the present day without any hints of what brought him to join the institute in the first place.
  • Covered Up:
    • Your Highness My Princess has also more views than the original as well.
    • ChroNoiR's Ice Breaker has 3 million views as of 2021 and it surpassed the original video which has 400k views.
    • Toko's cover of Aimer's "RE: I AM" (yes, that song) managed to surpass Aimer's official MV in a much shorter timespan, with nearly double the amount of views as of 2021 (7.5 million vs. 4.4 million in April 2021, for reference) and one of the highest view counts for any Nijisanji video. It helps that Toko's husky voice comes very close to the original's feel.
    • Fuwa's Call Boy gets double the views, even more so than the original by Syudou featuring Miku. Even Syudou's self-cover still pales compared to Fuwa's (Over 4.4 million views versus Fuwa's 5.6 million for reference). It also helps that Fuwa's singing voice fits very well with the song, but special mention goes to the part where he says and acts out "Omae da, baka" (It's you, you moron) before the final chorus where other covers sing it.
    • Lizean's cover of "Death Should Not Have Taken Thee!" gets double the views of the original by Jesus-P featuring Rin and Len, mainly in part due to Ange's deep boyish voice fit for the male protagonist of that song.
    • Luca Kaneshiro's cover of "Mafia" reached one million views in just six days, eventually surpassing Wotaku's official upload of the original version featuring Hatsune Miku by July 2022.
    • Leos Vincent's Genius Rock has exceeded 2 million views in 3 months while the original version still has around 1.8 million even after 5 years.
    • Koyonagi Rou, Hoshirube Sho, and Hibachi Mana's cover of S.C.R.E.A.M by Dyes Iwasaki would end up surpassing the the original featuring RainyBlueBell within three weeks of its release.
  • Crosses the Line Twice:
  • Discredited Meme:
    • Jokes about livers actually belonging to branches other than their own have largely fallen out of favor. Along with people having grown tired of them, the merger of the Korean and Indonesian branches into the main branch has led to requests to refrain from those types of jokes.
    • Similarly, jokes about indie VTuber Shoto being an honorary member of Nijisanji EN have been disavowed by both Shoto himself and his friends within NijiEN, as they believe such jokes discredit Shoto's success by his own merits.
    • Kyo has commented that jokes about certain livers being "bottoms" are only funny in small doses, joining a growing group of fans who feel that "bottom" jokes have become extremely overused.
      • Ver has also asked his fans to stop calling him a bottom, as he didn't know what it really meant until he looked it up.
    • While he does continue to flirt with other male streamers both in and out of Nijisanji and doesn't discourage shipping entirely, Uki has started slowly moving away from the concept of the Ukidex/having a harem. His reasons for this are that he's felt as if some of his collaboration streams are only being watched for the sake of shipping fodder, which is not helped by a vocal portion of his fanbase viewing every man he has a remotely friendly interaction with as a potential addition to the harem. Uki has since added a rule in the description of each of his streams stating that shipping should not be the sole reason for viewing his content, and the creation of new ship tags has been far more sporadic than they had been at the peak of the meme’s popularity.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Fura Kanato's Attractive Bent-Gender counterpart, Kana. While she has only shown up once thus far with that one appearance lasting only thirty minutes, she spawned so many fanworks Kanato had to make a separate art tag for her to prevent his own from being flooded. She also has her own oshi marks.
  • Estrogen Brigade: Since Nijisanji props up male talents almost as often as female ones, the group has amassed a significantly large female following in an industry with a dominantly male viewer demographic.
  • Fandom Rivalry: Nijisanji is often regarded as having one with Hololive due to both companies being the biggest Virtual Youtubers producers in the industry. It doesn’t appear that the livers see it that way, as they follow each other on social media and have historically been fine with cross-over collaborations; unfortunately, the heavily implied ban on hololive-NijiEN collabs by one or both parties has only given ammo to the more militant fans on both sides. But after the first successful Holo-Niji EN collab with Alban and Regis Altare of Holostars English, the reception is positive on both sides of the fandom. This led to the approval of other Holo-Niji collabs that have been canceled before such as Selen's collab with HoloID's Kureiji Ollie and the long-awaited Pomu-Kiara VR collab.
  • Fan Nickname: Has its own page.
  • Friendly Fandoms:
    • Many fans of Nijisanji overlap with fans of rival Virtual YouTuber company hololive. Of course, it helps that talents from both companies happen to collaborate pretty often.
    • Fans of the male EN livers are likely to also be fans of indie VTuber Shxtou given how frequently they collaborate on streams and interact on Twitter.
  • Fountain of Memes:
    • Mito has spawned quite a number, particularly in her first few months of activity, which was a major reason for her rapid rise in popularity.
    • Kuzuha... at least in the Japanese fanbase.
  • Funny Moments: They have their own page.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff:
    • Ars Armal gained a decent amount of Russian viewers judging by the comments section. Nina Kosaka, being a fluent Russian speaker, also has a comparatively large Russian fanbase, to the point where Russian comments almost outnumber English comments when she hosts a stream during Russia-friendly hours.
    • VALZ and Chronoir has more of a cult fan following overseas.
    • Mononobe Alice has a large following on bilibili, well above that of the other JP members.
    • Luxiem as a whole has an absolutely enormous fanbase on the Chinese internet, with huge amounts of subscribers on bilibili.
    • Millie Parfait is naturally popular among Filipinos.
    • Similarly, Aia naturally gained a following from many Vietnamese fans.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • ZEA and Taka's cover of "Rettou Joutou" becomes this due to the last line of the song being "[...] Bye, guys." The line's last two words would take on a new meaning after the two graduated on separate occasions in May 2023.
    • During the draft for Nijisanji Koshien 2020, after Shiina Yuika picked several members that were known for being controversial she chose Kingyozaka Meiro (the then newest member), claiming that she had "potential". Three months later, Meiro was involved in a controversy that led to her contract being terminated and Roa going on hiatus.note
    • The first few streams after Scarle's ill-fated debut saw chat members spam "loading" emojis in reference to the extreme amounts of lag that the debut suffered. It was immediately obvious that it bothered her (her channel rule involving spam explicitly calls out the loading emoji), but looks even worse after she and her genmates recounted just how badly she took her first stream.
    • During the big NIJISANJI EN Crab Game collaboration in November 20th, 2022, Yugo hunts after Maria, prompting her to say that he's not her "Onii-chan" anymore. While it was cute and innocent at that time, it later became much more sad after Yugo's sudden graduation on December 14th, 2022.
    • Finana is known for her NSFW outtakes but also for being bisexual and part of the LGBT community. In June 2022, she put a ban on the word 'Trap' on her future streams on Twitter, due to the implications of it being harmful to the transgender community. However, this caught immense backlash and Finana was forced to retract her ban after a week of harassment and abuse; prompting her to make an apology video whilst she was on the verge of crying in July 2022.
    • The last lines of Noctyx's original song "Stuck in the Abyss" says "Goodbye, my friend, the light has come/I'm never gonna let it go" was sung by Sonny. These lines would become this trope when the "friend" in question refers to Yugo, Sonny's genmate, who left Nijisanji in December 2022.
    • XSOLEIL's initial Twitter banner, which features a group shot of all six livers, places Zaion in a location where she is mostly covered up by the individual livers' Twitter avatars. While initially played for laughs, it took on a whole new meaning after Zaion became the first EN liver to be outright fired by the company, to the extent that some who weren't in the know thought that it was a subtle attempt to Unperson her.
    • Uki's second tarot reading stream was done for all XSOLEIL members shortly before they debuted. For Zaion, he read that she had to differentiate between a quick decision and being impulsive in the near future. People take this as another example of Uki's tarot reading being spot on again and that it foreshadowed Zaion's termination.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • For the Minecraft server's library Mito wrote a story about Japanese comedian Gorgeous joining Nijisanji. The following April Fools' Day, Gorgeous announced (as a joke) that he would be debuting as a Virtual YouTuber, leading Mito to tweet out the Twitter tags that were part of the story she wrote.
    • Nina admitted in an early stream that she first became interested in Nijisanji largely because they have guys. Just shy of 10 weeks later, Luxiem debuted and grew at a speed never before seen in the EN branch, proving that Nina was far from the only one looking for them.
    • Enna often joking about her graduation became very ironic when more than half of the EN branch went on a break/hiatus/suspension during February 2023, with her being the only member streaming at the time and nobody else being around to get raided by her. This led her to crack the joke about being the last employee of Nijisanji left in the company.
    • When XSOLEIL's debut trailer came out, people speculated that Hex was Corpse Husband because the two have very similar voices. During Fulgur's birthday Crab Game stream, where Corpse is one of the guests, several livers were unable to tell the difference between him and Hex due to the poor microphone quality of the game.
    • Many of Ren Zotto's fans who happen to also enjoy Twisted Wonderland often point out how similar he looks to Malleus Draconia, who is based on Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, a character well known for transforming into a dragon during the climax of said movie. Come part two of his Unravel Two playthrough with Mysta, Ren reveals that before his character was finalized as an alien, he could have ended up as a dragon instead.
  • Ho Yay: Between several Vtuber pairs with the most notable ones being:
    • Kanae and Kuzuha. The two have a collaborative channel called Chronoir that often plays up this aspect of their relationship, especially in their cover songs such as "Ice Breaker", a song that was originally about the two Vocaloids IA and Yuzuki Yukari being in a romantic and explicitly sexual relationship. The original MV that was created for Chronoir's cover even has the two holding hands.
    • Fuwa Minato and Mayuzumi Kai. Their close relationship, as well as the fact that Minato quite literally looks to Mayuzumi in times when he needs reassurance, has made fans believe that their relationship is more than just friendship.
    • Kanae and Saegusa Akina. Akina has admitted on several occasions that he has romantic feelings for Kanae, to which Kanae responds by teasing him.
    • Seraph Dazzlegarden and Shikinagi Akira. They are quite close, with Akira turning to Seraph for comfort when he feels particularly lonely and Seraph's constant teasing of Akira occasionally bordering on flirtation. The fact that Akira, a well-known Yaoi Fanboy, has related some of the more Ship Tease-y things he and Seraph have done to things he's seen in the BL manga he's read does nothing to help matters.
    • Uki and... damn near any guy who collaborates with him. While the most popular pairing by far is Uki/Fulgur, he has no less than 13 different ship tags.
    • Kyo lets slip during his debut that Vox's infamously risque ASMR streams are a guilty pleasure of his.
      • Kyo would later say that his early flirting with the other male livers was a misunderstanding on his part, thinking that it was a meme. Since then he keeps rejecting the flirt attempts from Ren and Aster and other male members. Although that doesn't stop him from participating in Luca's "NIJIEN Dating Show" where Uki is the bachelor.
    • There are a lot of moments between the EN girls, some of them having already kissed each other on the lips. The Canadian Besties Trio (Elira, Millie and Enna) have all kissed each other on-stream and they've known each other for a very long time. Pomu has made a stream about "dating" Elira and their duet cover song "Turing Love" has romantic undertones. Finana openly admits of having read Ocean Law (Selen x Finana) fanfics, and the music video of her cover song "Love Trial" is heavily about the Ocean Law ship. Selen and Pomu have formed multiple groups with others together (Pomu also once used a thumbnail of her sucking Selen's toes). Enna and Reimu say they would date/marry each other if Enna were a guy.
  • I Knew It!:
    • "Stealth suspensions" (ie Suspensions disguised as breaks with plausible cover stories) have been rumored to exist since the early days of NIJISANJI, but it wasn't until Zaion LanZa's termination that concrete proof of such was revealed, as the termination notice explicitly stated that prior to her being publicly suspended in February 2023, she had also been suspended once before in early January during a period of time where Zaion claimed to have been visiting family and friends. Zaion's actress would later corroborate the details provided in the termination notice in regards to that suspension as well provide background information as to what led to her being suspended in the first place. She would also confirm that Yugo Asuma's final "break" before his "graduation" had also been a stealth suspension.
    • For years English-speaking fans have suspected that Nijisanji livers don't receive their Silver/Gold "YouTube Play Button" plaques for reaching 100,000/1,000,000 subscribers and that the plaques they earn are instead being kept at the company's main office, citing the fact that the plaque pictures posted by livers on social media are all taken from the same desk and reflect linear white light lamps which are common in corporate offices but not households note . This was eventually confirmed to English-speaking audiences by Claude Clawmark when he reached 100,000 subcribers. Claude proceeded to add that he doesn't mind and he considers it a great honour that his plaque is going to be placed along the others in the main corporate office. According to Claude, the livers always have the option to request the plaques sent to them, but very few livers have so far exercised it, instead choosing to let Nijisanji keep them note .
  • Idiosyncratic Ship Naming: While the Japanese side tends to prefer the standard Portmanteau Couple Name, shippers on the EN branch have taken a more unique approach to ship naming. Some examples:
    • Pufferfeesh (Pomu and Finana)
    • Sunfeesh (Elira and Finana)
    • Ocean Law (Selen and Finana)
    • Lunar Fairy (Selen and Pomu)
    • Lunar Rose (Selen and Rosemi)
    • Solar Rose (Elira and Rosemi)
    • Nijiglobalwarming (Elira and Petra)
    • Calamity Bird (Millie and Enna)
    • Nijispiritbird (Reimu and Enna)
    • Nijiscaredycat (Reimu and Millie)
    • Nijihypothermianote  or Frozen Hispanicnote  (Petra and Reimu)
    • NootyCall (Petra and Millie)
    • Nijighostwriter (Reimu and Ike)
    • Psyborg (Uki and Fulgur)
    • Ukitty (Uki and Alban)
    • Fox Akuma (Mysta and Vox)
    • Horror Husbandos (Vox and Ike)
    • Mafiyami (Luca and Shu)
    • Akumafia (Vox and Luca)
    • BananaPlus (Shu and Elira), with Yamidora being the equivalent Portmanteau Couple Name.
    • FoxKnox (Mysta and Alban)
    • Angelfeesh (Aia and Finana)
    • VoodooDoll (Millie and Maria)
    • Soullien (Ver and Ren)
    • PolyKrisis (Vezalius, Vantacrow, and Wilson)
    • Medicrow (Vezalius and Vantacrow)
    • Psycrow (Uki and Vantacrow)
  • LGBT Fanbase:
    • While he’s never been direct about what his sexuality is, Saegusa Akina has gained an LGBT following due to his openness about his crush on fellow male Vtuber Kanae, as well as the fact that he isn’t afraid to discuss potential relationships with other men.
    • Shirayuki Tomoe is a big Yuri Fan, and even made an official yuri pair with Sukoya Kana called "Crossick".
    • Shikinagi Akira, who is openly bisexual and has an open-minded approach to gender norms and expression. He hasn't been afraid to talk about what it's like to be LGBTQ+ in Japan, including his experiences specific to the LGBTQ+ subculture there, such as the time he worked at a gay bar.
    • While Vox Akuma’s audience is primarily women, he has over time amassed a not insignificant following of MLM note  and transgender/nonbinary individuals, who both find him attractive and enjoy his usage of gender neutral pronouns in his ASMR roleplays. Vox has stated that this is intentional, as he likes to go out of his way to make people feel included.
    • Given that Uki Violeta himself is openly gay and prides himself on having an inclusive community, it would probably be easier to count how many of his Stargazers aren't queer in some way.
    • Both Aia Amare and Kunai Nakasato have noted on-stream that the vast majority of their fanbases are lesbians/sapphics in general.
  • Memetic Badass:
  • Memetic Loser: Eudrick was a character that was listed as part of the November 2018 auditions, but (as of March 2021) never debuted. Various livers (such as Shiina, Chaika, Ryushen and Gundou) have given him weird profile settings when talking about him, such as eating raw meat and baby's hair.
  • Memetic Psychopath: Suzuhara Lulu's habit of invoking the Thousand-Yard Stare on top of saying some very off-putting things without breaking her demeanor have many joke that she's an Eldritch Abomination under her "normal art student" facade. She's occasionally disturbed fellow V-Tubers Debiru (bear in mind that Debiru is a devil) and Takamiya Rion with this behavior. It's developed an Interrupting Meme where someone cuts themselves off at the slightest mention of Lulu being an eldritch god.
  • Moe:
    • Honma Himawari's ditzy mannerisms, pleasant voice, and kind personality makes her one of the cutest streamers under Nijisanji.
    • Amamiya Kokoro also counts as well due to her cute appearance and soft spoken voice.
    • Hoshikawa Sara's bratty and cute personality makes her very adorable.
    • Saegusa Akina. From his cute looks to his energetic personality, he's considered to be adored by fans.
    • Rosemi Lovelock from the English branch, is an absolutely adorable sweetheart. Many fellow talents in the branch tend to dote on her because of how cute she is.
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • Selen was playing some off-stream Apex Legends in mid-October 2021 with friends when they came upon and defeated the team of Spacestation Gaming, with Selen herself personally killing SSG Dropped, the top-ranked player on the planet at the time. She talks about in the tail-end of her Aliens: Fireteam Elite collab stream.
    • Seraph Dazzlegarden's 3D model debut was interrupted by him getting called to do an urgent mission. This eventually leads to a fight sequence in which he wipes the floor with a bunch of Mooks that wouldn't be out of place in an action movie franchise. On a Meta level, not only was this sequence one hell of a Moment of Awesome for Seraph considering the athleticism and martial arts skill required to do the acrobatics and stuntwork he's seen doing, it was also one for ANYCOLOR's 3D rigging department given the complexity of the fight choreography, which included use of props like office chairs and knives as well as Bullet Time.
  • Most Wonderful Sound:
    • Kaida Haru's voice is adorable, but his screaming noises is satisfying to hear by fans. In fact there's two compilation dedicated to his screams.
    • Ponto Nei's "windshield-wiper" laugh.
    • Whenever Watarai Hibari makes adorably confused noises, which is often. Also whenever he spontaneously breaks into song, given his Beautiful Singing Voice.
    • Seraph's soft, breathy "seiso" laugh, which some viewers refer to as the only actual angelic thing about him, as well as the cute cat-like "nya"s he tends to make when he's frustrated or in distress.
    • Three words: Ike eating toast.
  • Never Live It Down:
    • Otogibara Era's Atomic F-Bomb in her Syobon Action stream and her monkey growl during an Idolmaster gacha stream are two things that she will never live down.
    • Finana Ryugu's egg story is something she's infamous for, and it's basically tradition for chat to ask members of the new waves if they already know about the egg story.
    • Despite Mysta having improved his cooking, his old cooking stories (including the rice stories) still dread people to this day, and they don't trust his cooking at all.
    • Ren Zotto wore orange shorts one time, and now his Renvaderz and his fellow livers never let him hear the end of it.
    • Vezalius Bandage's first two tweets (a.k.a the infamous "bondage/bandage" Fauxdian Slip) have gotten quite a bit of notoriety outside of the VTuber fandom, resurfacing every few months on social media to lambast the VTubing community as a whole for its perceived overreliance on sexual humor. Zali's genmate, Yu Q. Wilson (while impersonating Zali and doing a stream on his channel for April Fools' Day 2024) would eventually take a snipe at said detractors for constantly bringing it up.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Amagase Muyu's 3D debut starts out lighthearted and cute as expected, however it quickly literally takes a sudden turn into nightmare land after the things she says start to intermittently glitch out and distort, with the highlights in her eyes disappearing. Viewers were then transported to the strange inner landscape of her mind, after which her backstory of being ostracized for being a Half-Human Hybrid Humanoid Abomination Dream Stealer becomes the focus of the stream.
    • Fura Kanato's infamous "imaginary genmates" stream. While Kanato starts off the stream well-aware that he's playing Mario Party Superstars solo, once he notes that the CPU characters have the same Color Motifs as his genmates, he starts talking and acting like the other 3 are actually present. Things appear to look up when his genmates seem to actually join the call, only for the things they say to loop over and over again, becoming more fragmented and distorted - making it clear that Kanato is full-on hallucinating. At first, Kanato keeps talking to his "genmates" and playing like nothing is wrong while the broken audio keeps playing in the background... until he suddenly goes completely quiet, playing in silence before abruptly ending the stream.
    • Everything about Seraph Dazzlegarden, whenever his lore is played entirely straight. On April Fool's Day in 2023, every trace of Seraph's existence was erased off of his social media and all images replaced with black images (though enhancing said black images would reveal a figure with dimly glowing red eyes and a whole lot of blood). Instead, viewers were treated to his younger self's recollection of carrying out a contract in which he assassinated thirteen people in cold blood, apparently framed as Seraph having a Flashback Nightmare. The entire sequence eventually culminated in him having a terrifying mental breakdown.
    • Millie Parfait's backstory is immensely harrowing. The granddaughter of a witch, life was well for Millie until she and her grandmother got caught up in a Witch Hunt. Millie’s grandmother was locked inside her house as it was set alight, while Millie was dragged away by the mob to be burnt at the stake (yes, the mob was fully willing to lynch a little girl for being a witch), only being saved by the timely arrival of Lucie, who forged a pact with her before killing the mob with meteors. She lived happily in the underworld for years, only for her to meet Enna, who accidentally got her addicted to a Fantastic Drug which resulted in Millie accidentally getting herself trapped on Earth.
    • The surprise reveal of Ike Eveland's evil half Eki at the end of his playthrough of Undertale's Genocide Route is pretty spooky, partly due to the sheer unexpectedness of it and partly due to the chillingly calm and sadistic way Eki speaks.
    • Luca's "Mafia" cover has a very unnerving and oppressive atmosphere to it, all topped off with him giving one hell of a Slasher Smile during the drop at the end.
  • One True Threesome:
    • Some fans view Reimu's relationship with Vox and Ike this way.
    • While each of the possible monogamous pairings within Krisis have followings in their own right, the most popular ship overall is all three of them together.
  • Pop-Culture Isolation: Nijisanji is huge among the Japanese Vtuber community. However, international fans largely gravitate towards rival agency hololive, with comparatively-minimal knowledge of Nijisanji beyond Hana Macchia (who, being English-fluent, was big within the early international Vtuber fandom), the EN branch (especially after the runaway success of Luxiem), and to a lesser extent major Japanese talent like Kuzuha and Kanae. It's certainly not helped by the fact that hololive was the first of the two to make a serious play at the western Vtuber fandom and was largely uncontested for the better part of a year, giving Nijisanji an uphill battle right from the start. It was not until Luxiem (an all-male wave, something hololive EN did not have a lead on) garnering a colossal success in early 2022 that Nijisanji started to even the playing field on the international stage.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: A good chunk of collaboration names are created by combining the members' names together (Sakuyui, Debilulu, Lizean, etc.).
    • Kaemito (sometimes abbreviated as kemt) for Kaede and Mito (the official collab name is just Kaede and Mito).
    • LizeLulu for Lize and Lulu
    • KNKZ (read "Kanakuzu") for people who pair Kanae and Kuzuha. It doesn't help that they're an official unit (ChroNoiR).
      • When Chihiro joins them for Apex Legends their team name is KanaChiiKuzu.
    • Togabito for Kenmochi Touya and Gaku.
    • GunKan for Gundou and Kanda.
    • Ebimaru for Ex Albio and Ars Almal is an interesting case, since the name uses Ex's nickname Ebio.
    • FuKeiZai for Fumi and Nagao Kei.
    • Yamidora for Shu Yamino and Elira Pendora. BananaPlus is the Idiosyncratic Ship Naming equivalent.
    • PShu for Pomu and Shu, the name being born from the first 15-members NIJI EN Among Us collab.

  • Spiritual Successor: When it comes to shipping, the Vertoka ship (Ver and Kotoka) is seen as the EN counterpart and spiritual successor of the Gunkan ship (Gundou and Kanda), due to the Belligerent Sexual Tension that is prominently displayed within these two ships. The Vertoka ship gained popularity months after Gundou's graduation, with Ver and Kotoka showing signs of intentionally playing into the Ship Tease without going into full Official Couple territory.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Yugo's been mistaken for a woman on occasion, due to his androgynous face and voice.
  • Vindicated by History: NijiEN initially had a high hill to climb, facing everything from internal mismanagement (especially regarding the 'original' EN Branch, Nijisanji India), to an unsure identity (initially, the NijiEN official Youtube channel was essentially nothing more than a clip translation channel for the main Niji branch) and what was at the start a very much one-sided rivalry with hololive English (with NijiEN first three waves all having much less subscriber growths, viewership and superchats than their hololive counterparts). But the branch persisted, and it would eventually find its niche with Luxiem (largely thanks to the male Vtuber scene being untapped at the time). Thanks to Luxiem massively expanding their viewership base, the other NijiEN members would eventually gain newfound popularity.
