  • Magnificent Bastard: In The Void, Sirius Void is the second personality of Malleus Void, who came to be after Malleus couldn't handle the abuse he was suffering. Stronger and tougher than Malleus, Sirius posed as his twin brother while trying to turn the park Malleus has created into more nightmarish land. Killing the doctor, whom Malleus had hired to suppress him, Sirius manipulates and kills two celebrities who came to Malleus for fame and immortality. Falling in love with Rebecca Thatcher, Sirius committed several crimes in her name and when the Detective arrived to stop him, he tricked her into falling to his deadly traps, nearly killing her twice. Completely "destroying" Malleus by the time of the Bonus Chapter, Sirius breaks free of Rebecca's influence and effortlessly escapes the high security prison by fooling all the guards and the computer system, flying to the ship, which he took over and travels deep into the sea with no one being able to catch him.
  • Tear Jerker: There are a few of these throughout the series, but it's hard to top the moment in The Secret of Watch Hill when the player character finally locates the bodies of her long-deceased parents. She has to grieve all over again, but she forces herself to hold off on it so she can get through the investigation.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Judging by the reviews on Big Fish Games, this is a common reaction to the formula of Forgotten Voices. Players complained about the absence of Canine Companion Elf and about the fact that the previous player character seems to have stepped down in favor of the "young guns" Black, Slate, and Ginger. The fact that this seems to be the final Mystery Trackers installment (it was released in April 2021) doesn't help.
    • However, as of summer 2023, the devs have dropped some hints on their Facebook page which suggest that they might be revamping the series, and implied that Agent Amber would be returning as the protagonist if this were to happen.
  • Uncanny Valley: Agents Clyde and Stone in Paxton Creek Avenger fall into this in different ways. When he debuted in Silent Hollow, Clyde just looked like a regular guy. In PCA, he seems to almost be wearing a strange mask on his face that gives him a very surreal expression. Agent Stone, meanwhile, looks mostly normal, but spends most of his screen time gazing into the camera like he's hypnotized; the glassy-eyed stare is a bit uncomfortable for the viewer. His design later in Queen of Hearts gives him a much more natural appearance.
