• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • The additional bonding moments between SMG3 and Terrance become this when you remember what happened to the latter in Revelations.
  • Similarly, the additional bonding moments between Meggy and One-Shot Wren become harder to stomach, knowing what we know about him in Western Spaghetti.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • This story gives SMG3 more bonding moments with Terrance, particularly in Chapter 20 (appropriately titled “Graveyard Bond”), which doesn’t adapt any particular scene from the Genesis Arc.
  • Meggy's first meeting with Oneshot Wren in "Mario Babies" was already cute, but Chapter 26 adds some additional moments between them, including her getting his autograph and letting her fight with him in the Turf War.
• Moment of Awesome:
  • The YouTube Royale in general is pretty awesome this time around. Not only does Mario get to take on more YouTubers here than he did in "Mario VS Youtubers", but a good majority of them that were kept from that episode either have new fighting tricks up their sleeves, or the story takes away some of what made Mario easily overpower them. Yet Mario triumphs over all of them in order to save SMG4's channel.
  • Axol winning the Fuji-Gata Origami Anime Contest in Chapter 21.
• Tear Jerker: Meggy's existential crisis in "Mario VS Youtubers" is sad enough, but Chapter 9 puts great emphasis on her failures in the jobs she tried in past SMG4 videos. Her police officer career, however, deserves special mention; for a time, SMG4 seemed to be building up to Meggy as a fulltime cop—something she's proven to be very good at thus far—only to mysteriously drop this subplot, likely due to police brutality at a high rise in real life around that time period. Here, the author provides an answer as to why her cop career wasn't working out for her: because of a near-fatal injury she suffered while chasing criminals. The author theorized in that chapter's DeviantArt description^note before it went missing prior to chapters being rearranged that this was a more likely reason than the "official" explanation Meggy gave on her Q&A. Given how dangerous police work can be, he's not exactly wrong.
• Unexpected Character:
  • Who would have guessed that Team Killer Ink would get invited to SMG4's 10th anniverary?
  • Senbo's cameo in Chapter 37 was also unexpected.
