YMMV / MM!

  • Les Yay: Yumi's "massages", Michiru's voyeuristic photography, and the "Heaven Side" opening featuring Mio and Arashiko in... interesting poses with each other.
  • Moe: Arashiko, shy, adorkable, loves animals, and someone you really want to hug, regardless if you get sent flying afterward.
    • Mio has her moments of Moe, though they're relatively rare due to her being a Tsundere.
    • Teen Genius Noa looks and acts like a cute little girl.
  • Values Dissonance:
    • Taro's reaction to Arashiko being stalked by her sempai is not to call the police or tell an authority figure, but rather to beat up the guy himself. This is very much a Japanese ideal of keeping sexual assault-related problems out of the public eye, as discussing them is seen as shameful on the part of the woman. Furthermore, Taro upholds classically prized Japanese masculine behavior by defending Arashiko's honor independently without relying on external help.
    • At one point, Mio puts Taro through a series of hypnotic suggestions in the hopes of curing his condition. However, these have the effect of replacing his masochism with other predilections and traits. At the end of this sequence, we face the concerning reality that Mio, Arashiko, and others consider Taro's becoming attracted to men to be more perverted and wrong than being a masochist.
  • The Woobie: Poor Arashiko. Back in middle school, she went out with a Jerkass upperclassman, who tried have his way with her, but when she rejected him, and accidentally scratched his face, he violently beat her, and spread false rumors about how she Really Gets Around. This is what caused her to develop her androphobia. It gets worse when that same ex-boyfriend, Yoshioka, starts following her, threatening her to keep quiet about the incident. After this traumatic reunion, Arashiko becomes too scared to even leave her house, and doesn't even recognize Taro when he comes to check up on her. The tears of despair on her face say it all.
