  • Older Than They Think: Ennio Morricone's "Chi Mai" is most often associated with this film in France, with people thinking he composed it for this film specifically (and it played for the state funeral of Jean-Paul Belmondo in 2021). It actually dates back to 1971, Morricone composed it for the Italian film Maddalena.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Pascal N'Zonzi as Arthur, Njala's secretary. He wouldn't hit it really big among the French public until 2014 with Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au bon Dieu?.
  • Song Association:
    • For French people, the popularity of Ennio Morricone's "Chi Mai" was due to this film in the early 1980s... until it became associated with dog food commercials in the 1990s (and a parody of it by Alain Chabat's Les Nuls).
    • "Chi Mai" remained associated with the film and Jean-Paul Belmondo himself in France still. It was played at the national homage to him at the Invalides in Paris on September 9, 2021 for his funeral.
