YMMV / Goomzilla E 11 Peachs Quest

  • Awesome Art: The customized logo for Yemoscar is simply gorgeous.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal:
    • It was pretty obvious that the Toad that helped Peach near the beginning was going to turn out to be a Duplighost, since he engages in even more suspicious behavior than Solus did in Luigi's Quest.
    • When you think about it, Mimi's reveal as the leader of the Duplighosts was very predictable. Not only could she shapeshift just like the Duplighosts, but the movie is themed after Super Paper Mario, the game she appeared from, where she is personally pitted against Peach, who is The Hero of this movie.
  • I Knew It!: It's obvious that Mimi would be revealed as the leader of the Duplighosts.
  • Jerkass Woobie.
    • Bowser may be a longtime villain, but he feels truly lost when his strength gets taken from him, as well as control of his castle and minions.
    • The captain of the Great Glory also counts, only wanting to protect an artifact that the heroes needed.
    • Mimi let the power of ruling over the Duplighosts go to her head, and by the time she's depowered (permanently), she feels terrible about the monster she became.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Tripliss crosses this by stripping Doopliss from his powers permanently following Mimi's defeat. This might not sound so bad, but Doopliss helped the heroes take Mimi down.
  • Squick: Kamek had to eat Goomba food to survive after having his power drained, which apparently is the Goomzilla equivalent to dog food. "Yuck" is the appropriate response.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
    • Tripliss didn't have nearly as much development or clear motivations as Solus did.
    • Where on Earth was the Crystal King during the events of the Crystal Palace?
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Since we've clearly seen a Hammer Bro., Boomerang Bro., Boo, Bob-omb, and Spiny working for Bowser in past Goomzilla videos, it's rather baffling they didn't show up for the wedding at the beginning. Even the excuse that it would require a lot of handwork seems null since Mario's Quest had at least one large crowd scene with plushes that had to be left alone, and even more large crowd scenes would later show up for this movie. Bottom line, you'd expect a more complete minion turnout for something Bowser's wanted for years.
  • Ugly Cute: Shrunk!Bowser, a custom plush made by Goomzilla, manages to make Bowser look both cute and hideous at the same time.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: Goomzilla manages to add a realistic-looking fire effect on the poor Boo's top hat. Later scenes would have cool fire effects as well.
  • The Woobie: Koopa when he mournfully lays flowers for his "fallen" king.
