• Adorkable: Akihito's plucky and energetic personality naturally causes him to be endearing to the viewers.
• Alternate Character Interpretation: Mikhail Arbatov. Is he someone deeply infatuated with Fei Long or just a brat out to cause trouble? Word of God strongly implies it's the former.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Fei Long's massive popularity outside of Japan reportedly surprised his creator, and it's enough to save him from his original planned fate of dying on a shooting rampage.
  • Mikhail is very popular in the fanbase as well.
• Evil Is Cool: A lot of the main and supporting cast who aren't the bad guys are involved with criminal organizations, but Yamane Ayano is able to give them so much appeal, style, and personality that the readers can't help but root for them.
• Foe Yay Shipping: Fei Long and Asami, particularly on Fei Long's side. Also Fei Long and Akihito.
• Moe: Hiroto, the infant that Akihito had to babysit for a few days in the "Little Monster +1" extra.
• Ship-to-Ship Combat: Simply put, a good chunk of the fandom is divided in whether they ship Fei Long with either Yoh or Mikhail.
• The Woobie: Fei Long because of his brother and early life. Akihito once he meets Asami.
