YMMV / Codes And Geass: Embracing Your Inner Megalomania

  • Anvilicious: During a conversation with Taizo Kirihara, the leader of Kyoto, Trollouche scourges the Japanese national character for their xenophobic and racist attitude and says this is why Japan will never free itself without him. Kirihara, though outraged, does not contest the statement. This could be considered racist or an author filibuster...except that this is something that's a problem in Japan in the real world. And as canon CG demonstrates, Trollouche has a point.
  • Awesome Ego: Much like canon Lelouch, Trollouche's ego is equivalent to a celestial body. And it is just as aweinspiring to witness.
  • Cargo Ship: The first time Kallen lays eyes on the Guren Mk. II, she's so in love that barely manages to keep herself from dry humping it in front of everyone.
  • Continuity Lockout: Certain details pertaining to the story, specifically the organization NOD, it's members Laila and Iah'bahad, and the events taking place in Area 18, require reading the sidestory "Laila of Arabia". Making things even harder though is that the writer for that sidestory, omgitsTabi, has left it abandoned, and many details that would have been explained there end up feeling like an Ass Pull in the main story, namely that Iah'bahad is actually an amnesiac Naoto Kozuki. Word of God says this was not intentional. The plan was to have two concurrent stories, and the plots converge in R2. This was apparently the cause of considerable fighting behind the scenes between the writers.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Much like with canon, Tamaki. His street-punk view of things, connections to the seedy underside of Japan, and the fact that he's even more gung-ho about the cause than he was in canon, has proven surprisingly popular.
  • Fan Nickname: Trollouche. The writer promptly adopted this moniker semi-officially, in order to differentiate the character from canon Lelouch.
  • Friendly Fandoms:
  • Nightmare Fuel: R2 Interlude 15: The Double Life of Kallen Stadtfeld. If this site still had a page for high octane nightmare fuel, this chapter which doesn't so much cross the line as tap dances all over it would qualify easily.
  • Tear Jerker: Nunnally's reaction to actually seeing Lelouch crossdressing is to mistake him for their mother.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Some readers view the story as worse than canon thanks to the massive deviations within, decrying Trolluche as inferior to his canon counterpart.
