  • Cargo Ship: Sort... of. From Yonghwa's "Mileage" MV is him and his mannequin girlfriend, Laura.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Jonghyun and his singing/voice, who many tend to prefer to Yonghwa's. Yet spotlight on his singing seems to vary from true subvocalist/Yonghwa's equal to nearly non-existent; in particular, some of their Korean title songs seem to decrease Jonghyun's lines as time goes by.
    • Minhyuk. He has the drummer curse of being the least promoted but fans and non-fans alike admire his talents (drumming and acting), his good looks and nice charming personality - even those who don't like the band much respect him and think he's more pleasant (and/or less questionable) than the other members.
  • Fandom Rivalry:
    • Boices and FT Island's Primadonnas. Both bands clearly respect each other and are good friends; their fans... mostly aren't. Many fans hate each others and will put down each others' bands in some way. Why? All because they're the two most popular Korean idol bands and are under FNC Entertainment. It doesn't help that FNC encourages pitting the two bands together which doesn't do them any goodnote  and doesn't mediate the fandoms' battles. However, also see Friendly Fandoms for the saner side.
    • With Girls' Generation's SONEs. Partly because some fans didn't approve of Seohyun or Yonghwa back in their We Got Married days, and partly because they've had some clashing Korean comebacks. Some SONEs get annoyed whenever CNB wins instead of the girls (even if it's weeks later when the girls have likely won a lot already) or mock them for daring to compete against the girls; and Boices will often brag about how the boys are much more talented and write their own songs unlike the girls hence more "worthy" of winning.
  • Friendly Fandoms: While many Boices and FT Island's Primadonnas, as seen in Fandom Rivalry, can be rude to each other and the opposing band, many Boices are also fans of FTI or respect them, and vice versa for Pris, because they are fellow bands from the same company that are close to each other. Thus these fans will generally want to punch the living daylights out of their fellow fans whenever they are rude to the opposing bands/fandoms, and they are generally the only sane fans who understand that most of the bands' issues are caused by FNC's CEO and management and not either bands themselves.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: They are most popular in Japan, due to spending their indie days there, being fluent in Japanese and promoting original songs instead of remakes. It helps that Japan appreciates bands much more than Korea does.
  • He Really Can Act:
    • Jungshin and Minyuk, who have both actively participated in dramas. Both are idols which would normally and automatically make them the target of the "all idols suck at acting" perception people can have - yet both have escaped such criticisms and been praised, especially Minhyuk.
    • Averted with Yonghwa; to many people, acting is the one thing he can't do. He did improve though in "Marry Him If You Dare", and some approved of his casting in the Korean historical drama version of The Three Musketeers.
    • Also averted with Jonghyun. His acting in "A Gentleman's Dignity" didn't impress many and it's lead people to say he's worse than Yonghwa (which can say a lot considering how much flack his acting's got).
  • Memetic Mutation: Yonghwa's numerous derp expressions are the butt of many jokes, and are frequently used as reaction gifs within the fandom.
  • Mis-blamed:
    • Some people blame them for being treated better by FNC compared to FTI, including getting more musical freedom, and being the reason FTI's not as successful as when they were Power Rookies. They make it sound like CNB members personally stop FTI from releasing their own music or that they put a gun to the CEO's head and make him mistreat FTI. In reality, FNC is solely responsible for FTI's mistreatment and declining popularity (eg. their infamous decision of sending them to Japan at their peak in Korea) and not CNB, who generally mind their own business, respect FTI and have no say in the matter whatsoever.
    • Yonghwa is a the victim of unnecessary Primadonna hate simply because FNC and the general public favours his music. The true story: Yonghwa's a good songwriter and gets attention for it. Other FNC idols (Jonghyun, FTI) are also good but don't get attention. This is because FNC fails to focus and market the others' music as well as Yonghwa's, and that's it. Primadonna's perception? Oh no, this must mean Yonghwa's selfish and forbids the others from promoting their own music. That arrogant rat bastard! Yes, this is despite him always respecting and even defending FTI whenever possible.
  • Never Live It Down: Some MCs won't ever fail to bring up Yonghwa's dramas and their low ratings.
  • Signature Song: Their debut song "I'm A Loner", due to its immense success.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Not only did they receive countless handsyncing/fake band accusations at debut, but the composer of "I'm A Loner" was accused of plagiarism which went as far as court. Despite it being the composer's fault (and the court eventually ruling the song as not plagiarised), this caused the hate for this "fake band" to go really overboard, even worse than FT Island's. It was to the point they had to release a video message addressing it, and Jonghyun cried saying (paraphrased), "Please stop calling us a fake band!"
    • Yonghwa overworking after debut to the point of getting vocal nodules. His voice hasn't quite recovered from it since and is not as smooth as before.
    • The members are constantly stuck with killer packed schedules which have many fans worried and the members exhausted - not that it stops them from being cheerful and performing to their fullest. Makes the way some people (mockingly or not) call them FNC's "cash cow" very awful and insensitive.
