Well, at least the gas isn't coming out the other end...

Fleabag Monkeyface is a 2011 British CGI-animated Grossout Show produced by Sparky Animation and based on the grossout kids book series The Disgusting Adventures of Fleabag Monkeyface, created by British writing duo Knife and Packer.

The show follows Gene and Gerald, two friends united in their love of all things gross and yucky. One day, the pair decide to enter a contest for their favorite television show Yucky Science, hosted by Dr. Dirk Spamflex. While using an old toilet to create a gross slop made out of moldy bananas, dirty socks, etc., a lightning bolt strikes their creation, and the eponymous half-monkey, half-boy superhero Fleabag Monkeyface is born. However, Dr. Spamflex, who has gone quite mad lately, takes great interest in Fleabag's array of disgusting superpowers and attempts to use him to take over the world. When the boys and Fleabag successfully subdue Dr. Spamflex, they are awarded with a chance to host their own TV show Gross Out TV. Every episode, Gene, Gerald, and Fleabag present a new disgusting adventure for their show, but Dr. Spamton, bitter about the consequent cancellation of his show as a result of his rampage) does everything he can to sabotage them, most of which involves vast amounts of grossout.

The series aired on CITV, but due to low ratings (the worst of all shows on the network at the time), it lasted only a single season of 26 episodes.

Tropes:

  • Aesop Amnesia: You would think by now Frank the TV Producer would be smart enough to not even bother associating with Dr. Spamflex. And yet in every episode, he almost signs a contract that would get Dr. Spamflex's show back, despite knowing who he is and everything he's done.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Some of Dr. Spamflex's Evil Plans involving making a giant disgusting monster, such as the earwax monster from the pilot episode.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Some of Dr. Spamflex's weapons. In one episode, he builds a giant growth ray that can only be used one time. He hits the wrong target.
  • Big "NO!": Frank after his nephew gets kidnapped by the Spamflex clones.
  • Captain Ersatz: Gene and Gerald are just George and Harold with different names.
  • Catchphrase: "I WANT MY TV SHOW BAAAAAAAAACCCCKKK!!"
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Your everyday villain uses giant monsters to aid in their conquest for world domination. But every heinous act Dr. Spamflex commits against Fleabag, Gene, and Gerald is all for the sole purpose of getting a TV show back on the air.
  • Every Episode Ending: I WANT MY TV SHOW BACKKKK!!!
  • Fallen Hero: Spamflex was originally the host of a successful TV show, but turned to villainy after running out of material to cover. Once his first evil scheme came to light, his show was immediately cancelled.
  • Fartillery:
    • One of Fleabag's main superpowers. The other is belching.
    • There's also the weapon called the "Fartzooka," which is exactly what you think it is.
    • Farson the Venus fart-trap attacks by farting from its mouth.
  • Funny Animal: Fleabag's half-boy, half-monkey, but he just looks like a walking, talking primate wearing clothes.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: Gerald and Gene accidentally create Fleabag via making a gloop for the Yucky Science contest in the Gross-Out Den's toilet, which got struck by lightning overnight.
  • Mundane Utility: After getting hit by a shrink ray, Frank decides to run home and experience his mini bonsai forest as a relatively large one until the effects wear off.
  • My Little Panzer: As a gift from his favourite TV show, Fleabag is gifted an early-release action figure of the upcoming character Captain Maggotman. It's later revealed that the action figures were withdrawn before sale after it was discovered they contained a highly-toxic gunk which was basically Hollywood Acid. This comes in handy when Fleabag is stuck inside a Humongous Mecha and uses said gunk to melt the seatbelt strapping him in.
  • Revolting Rescue: Given Fleabag's disgusting nature, he has saved the day with his own bodily functions on a number of occasions. In the very first episode, he stops a giant earwax monster by belching in its face, which causes it to faint.
  • Toilet Humour: Where do we start?! The premise even began with Gene and Gerald mixing random disgusting items in their den's toilet which created Fleabag Monkeyface after it got struck by lightning.
  • Uncleanliness Is Next to Ungodliness: Averted with Fleabag, who's one of the nicest characters in the show, but also one of the smelliest.
  • You Need a Breath Mint:
    • Fleabag mentions that he has a super power called "Bionic Bad Breath."
    • The giant swamp monster from the episode "Swamp Thing," which has apparently "never heard of oral hygiene."
    • Farson the Venus fart-trap is a plant that can fart. From its mouth. Its breath is capable of making someone pass out before he/she can even say the plant's breath stinks.
    • The Really Abominable Snowman has the same "Bionic Bad Breath" power as Fleabag, which Fleabag figured out after getting a whiff of it.
