The End Of Pokemon is a 2019 Fan Film, directed by Luis Pelayo Junquera and Enol Junquera and produced by Adi Shankar.

The story set in a future where Ash Ketchum succeeded in his goal. He became the very best like no one ever was, but at what cost? When Pikachu passes away, Ash begins to see Pokémon battles as senseless violence, and he sets out on a new mission. It’s time to free them all! This new calling sets him in direct opposition to Giovanni, but that’s nothing new for Ash.

Watch here.

This short film contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: Magikarp is shown being capable of drawing blood.
  • Animal Wrongs Group: Ash starts one, similar to a more violent version of Team Plasma. As Brock points out, it's not a good move, noting that it's only a matter of time before they release the wrong Pokemon. Cue Ash's cult releasing Mewtwo.
  • Battleaxe Nurse: Nurse Joy is depicted as one, complete with a truly demonic looking Chansey accompanying her. She's dealt with by being shredded alive by the Master Ball.
"Welcome to our Pokemon Center. We hope not to see you again."
  • Big Bad Ensemble: From the looks of it, Giovanni and Mewtwo play this role (Ash is mostly just a Well-Intentioned Extremist while Nurse Joy appears to merely be an obstacle).
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • One of Ash's raids reveals that he brought Squirtle, Pidgeot, Primeape, Muk and Charizard back onto his team. Though Primeape is shot dead by a guard.
    • Gary Oak, who has been absent from the anime for a while, makes an appearance.
  • Darker and Edgier: This is Adi Shankar we're talking about.
  • Death by Adaptation: Pikachu, Ash's Primeape, Jessie and her Arbok, possibly James, Misty's Psyduck and one of many Nurse Joys are all killed in the trailer alone. Though the ending implies that Pikachu is still alive.
  • Demoted to Extra: Meowth only makes a cameo at Team Rocket headquarters (humorously wearing a suit) and evidently doesn't join Jessie and James in going after Ash.
  • Feed It a Bomb: A creative example—Misty kills Jessie's Arbok when it's trying to strangle her by tossing a Rare Candy into its mouth. The Rare Candy is eaten by a Magikarp it swallowed, allowing it to evolve into Gyarados inside of Arbok's body.
  • Happily Married: Subverted. Ash and Misty are implied to be married here, but after Ash starts his Animal Wrongs Group, Misty leaves him, even taking baby Togepi with her.
  • Kaiju: A positively massive Gyarados can be seen destroying a building at one point.
  • Misanthrope Supreme: Mewtwo refers to humanity as "a cancer that must be eliminated".
  • Mythology Gag: At one point, James is attacked by a MIGHTY MOLTRES!
  • Trailers Always Spoil: Ash tries to end Pokémon battling after the death of Pikachu. Mewtwo later delivers the Wham Line that reveals that Pikachu isn't dead.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Ash gets called out multiple times for his actions.
    • Misty calls him out for trying the end the violence by closing down the gyms, when the gyms themselves regulate and contain said violence.
    • Brock, imprisoned for defending himself, calls out Ash for endangering the world economy.
  • Wham Line:
Mewtwo: One more thing. Does Ash Ketchum know that Pikachu is still alive?
