Nathaniel has an In-Universe twin brother named Bathaniel Nandy who frequently appears in his videos. Bathaniel has his own channel primarily consisting of Let's Play videos, which can be found here.
Nathaniel has some defunct series of videos that he did in the earlier days of his channel. These include Let's Plays called the Frustration Series, where he usually tries to complete difficult video games. He's also done a series of videos called 'How Will Nathaniel Rage??' which acts as a game show parody where the viewer guesses how Nathaniel will vent out his rage from playing Nintendo Hard games.

- 100% Completion: Nathaniel has made a series of videos in which he tries to 100% complete a marathon of games in 1-2 weeks.
- Abandoned Catchphrase: In the early days of his YouTube channel, Nathaniel's slogan used to be "Striving for Originality." But he got rid of it because he realized he frequently made gameplay videos and top 10 lists, which are abundant on YouTube.
- Accentuate the Negative: This is his "TRIGGERED" series in a nutshell. Some of his opinions expressed in those videos may or may not be accurate to his actual thoughts.
- AcCENT upon the Wrong SylLABle: Fans have noticed that Nathaniel will frequently pronounce certain words in a strange manner. For example, pronouncing "Delfino" from Mario Sunshine as "Delf-EYE-no." Nathaniel attributes this to living in several different countries during his childhood.
- Accidental Discovery: With the help of fellow speedrunner Adeal, a new TAS trick for Super Mario 64 DS was discovered in which Yoshi could clip through the walls to enter the first Bowser battle without using Mario at all.
- Actually Pretty Funny: One of Nathaniel's Patreon supporters made an Everything Wrong With parody on his Top 10 Super Mario Galaxy Stars video. Nathaniel humorously reacted to it.
- Advanced Movement Technique: Since Nathaniel speedruns Super Mario 64 quite frequently, techniques such as the game's Backwards Long Jump have become second nature to him.
- Always Identical Twins: Nathaniel's twin brother, Bathaniel Nandy, looks and sounds exactly like him.
- Angrish: In some of his Triggered videos, Nathaniel makes incoherent noises when he's angry.

- Arch-Enemy: Nathaniel has a huge disdain for Mario Kart character Pink Gold Peach, and he doesn't make it a secret.
- Ascended Meme: Nathaniel has acknowledged the "Ain't you Nathaniel B?" meme in some of his videos. For a while, he even featured it on his About page.
- Aside Glance: He does this most prominently when reacting to his old videos.
- Berserk Button: Nathaniel will get noticably heated when he sees Pink Gold Peach or hears her name.
- Big "YES!": There are multiple of these moments in his reaction videos when he sees an exciting game announcement.
- Calling Your Bathroom Breaks: In one of his "Predicting Mario Kart 9" videos, Nathaniel states that he has to take a crap really badly.
- Censor Box: Used in a How Will Nathaniel Rage?? video where his final act of rage was to strip himself naked.
- Challenge Gamer: Challenge videos are a huge chunk of Nate's channel, most notably with his "Is it Possible" videos. In most of these videos, Nathaniel engages in a challenge that goes beyond the game's rules.
- Character Catchphrase: Bathaniel Nandy’s videos always begin with him saying “Gamers, welcome to my boulders.”
- Christmas Episode: From 2016 to 2020, Nathaniel wrote Christmas songs titled "12 Days of Nintendo" for the month of December.
- Clothes-Eating Wager: Nathaniel wrote on Twitter that he would eat his shorts if Ridley got in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, eat his shirt if Steve got in, and eat his hat if there was new Mario Kart content. When each of these things really happened, he actually followed through with individual videos chewing as much of the clothes item until he had to spit it out.
- Content Warnings: Parodied in the beginning of the "TRIGGERED" videos where Nathaniel states that the video is over-exaggerated and not all opinions are accurate to his actual thoughts and feelings. There are exceptions to this when Nathaniel is doing a Triggered video on a bad video game, where he says his opinions are not over-exaggerated.
- Couch Gag: The opening of his Shrek Games video includes Shrek's ears.
- Creepy Doll: Nathaniel gave Lego Mario this role due to its Black Eyes of Evil when turned off.
- Defiant Strip: At the end of How Will Nathaniel Rage?? Ghosts'N'Goblins, Nathaniel's final act of rage was stripping himself naked, complete with a Censor Box.
- Double Play: Nathaniel will sometimes control two characters at once with different controllers in his challenge videos. Most frequently when he tries to collect every single coin in a Super Mario Bros. game.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Nathaniel's first videos on his channel had nothing to do with video games, let alone Nintendo content. His earliest videos consisted of performing board breaking moves with his face covered and commercial parodies, just to name a few.
- Ending Fatigue: Nathaniel reaches overdrive on this when completing 1-2 week marathons for a series of games. In fact when he beat the final boss for Super Mario 3D Land, he straight-up yawned.Nathaniel: This is my reaction, a f*cking yawn. That sums up the whole game. I beat it, I'm done with it. How do I react? I yawn.
- Evil Laugh: Nathaniel inexplicably did this right before getting to his Number 1 pick of his Top 10 Hardest Super Mario Galaxy stars video.
- Face Cam: Primarily used for his gameplay and reaction videos.
- Fanboy: It's no secret that Nathaniel is a huge fan of Super Mario 64, as well as the Mario franchise in general.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Bathaniel Nandy lives next to a pile of boulders and is careless in his actions. Nathaniel on the other hand, behaves more like a responsible adult.
- Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Instead of cursing, Nathaniel usually uses more lighthearted terms such as "Fricking." That doesn't mean he's a stanger to cursing, he just does so more conservatively and with a censor sound effect.
- Handy Feet: Used as the basis for a few challenge videos:
- Nathaniel challenged himself to complete New Super Mario Bros. with just his feet, and he succeeded.
- A few years later, Nathaniel did a challenge with completing Super Mario 3D Land while trying to crouch the whole time, and midway through for extra difficulty, added in having to play with his feet.
- Identical Twin ID Tag: Bathaniel Nandy always wears a backwards cap with his initials on it.
- I Hate Past Me: Nathaniel has reacted to multiple of his previous videos, and often criticizing them openly. So much so that he even made a Top 10 List on what he thought were his worst Top 10 videos.
- Little "No": Nathaniel's response when he asked himself if he would willingly play Super Mario 64 in VR again. His singular "no" was echoed a few times after he said it.
- Nature Lover: Bathaniel Nandy has a strange obsession with boulders and all of his Let's Play videos take place outdoors with boulders seen right behind him.
- Phony Degree: Used by Bathaniel Nandy when he pretends to be Nathaniel's doctor in How Dr. Mario World TRIGGERS You.
- Placebo Effect: Lampshaded in Spending 24 Hours in VR Super Mario 64. Nathaniel said he felt better from the motion sickness once he stood up, but he admitted it could've just been a placebo effect.
- Rage Quit: This trope is the basis for the "How Will Nathaniel Rage" videos, and he also has some in the Frustration Series.
- Road Trip Plot: Nathaniel went to a GameStop in all 50 states of the U.S. and took a weeks-long road trip across the contiguous states after first flying to Alaska and Hawaii.
- Running Gag: Every "TRIGGERED" on a Super Smash Bros. game has the line "It's not Melee."
- Quack Doctor: In the Dr. Mario "TRIGGERED" video, Nathaniel gets sick and goes to the doctor's office, only to find Bathaniel Nandy to be his doctor. Bathaniel perscribes his brother with Doctor Mario games, which just makes his illness worse.
- Sanity Slippage: You can frequently see Nathaniel getting gradually more insane in the videos where he tries to 100% complete a series of video games in just a week.
- There's also a Played for Laughs version of this trope in his Shrek Games video.
- Self-Deprecation: Nathaniel made a Triggered video on himself and insulted himself while speaking in the third-person.
- Self-Imposed Challenge: All of Nathaniel's "Is It Possible" challenge videos involve him trying to complete a game with his own restrictions outside of the game's rules.
- Shameless Self-Promotion: In his first "Top 10 Mario Games" video, Nathaniel gave no less than FIVE shameless plugs of his other content, some of which not even being on his channel anymore. This is one of the reasons he considers that video to be one his worst Top 10s.
- Sick Episode: Fittingly, Nathaniel made this the plot for the "TRIGGERED" video on the Dr. Mario games.
- Sir Swearsalot: Believe it or not, Nathaniel used to swear excessively in his older videos compared to now. He toned down the swearing around 2016.
- Solo-Character Run: Nathaniel challenged himself to beat Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes while only playing as Sonic.
- Sound-Effect Bleep: Video game sound effects relevant to the respective video are used by Nathaniel as curse word censors.
- The Berserker: If necessary, Nathaniel will damage-boost in a game during a challenge video.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: This is the basis for Nathaniel's "TRIGGERED" video on Bathaniel Nandy.
- Time Keeps On Ticking: When 100% completing a series of games within a week, Nathaniel always keeps a timer in-frame and frequently comments on every second counting.
- Unstoppable Rage: When DLC was first announced for Mario Kart 8, he made a reaction video where he spent the entire first half of the video freaking out about the newly announced characters for either being clones or not Mario characters. He’s especially angry when he gets to Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach.
- Waxing Lyrical: His video on Shrek Games immediately starts with lyrics from All Star.Nathaniel: Somebody once told me that Shrek games are like onions, they're just layers upon layers of crap.
- Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: Nathaniel challenged himself to beat Mario Party while doing absolutely nothing, and even played as Luigi for tradition. He ended up successfully completing the challenge.
