Wichita and Columbus will be revealed to have been broken up for some time.
But they are on good terms.
  • That would explain the Ship Tease vibes Madison and Columbus have in the trailers.
    • Partially confirmed, they break up early on and Wichita and Little Rock end up leaving, though Wichita comes back after Little Rock leaves her. The two remain on good terms until they get back together at the end. In other words, in the end, they are on even better terms and Columbus basically redeems himself in Wichita's eyes.

Alternatively, Colombus, Witchita, and Madison end up in a love triangle.
  • Confirmed. Columbus and Wichita break up near the beginning, Columbus unwittingly rebounds with Madison, and when Wichita comes back there's tension around the three of them until the end.

Alternatively, Colombus, Witchita, and Madison end up in a three-way relationship.

Madison's real name actually is Madison.
While Madison, Wisconsin could be the origin of her name, she comes off as enough of a Ditz to not understand the 'using hometowns as names to avoid attachments' thing. This will be revealed towards the end of the film when she reveals she is actually from California, not Wisconsin.

The new survivors will not make it to the end of the film.
The pilot for the Zombieland TV series had a Running Gag of killing off all other known survivors. It wouldn't be shocking if this carried over to this film and could establish this film as Darker and Edgier compared to the first one which only killed two non-zombies, neither of whom was a main character.
  • Jury's out on whether all the new survivors will die, but Madison is repeatedly noted to be Too Dumb to Live by many characters and this clip implies that the Similar Squad isn't going to last very long.
    • Albuquerque and Flagstaff do in fact die. They're bitten by zombies and have to be put down.
    • Although Wichita's counterpart does survive.

This film will have a human Big Bad of some kind.
Bonus points if said villain is/was the leader of an Expy of the Umbrella Corporation.

Alternatively, a human Big Bad would be a Governor Expy.

Madison is stupid because she spent WAY too much time in that freezer she mentioned.
It caused her to develop brain damage, even if it made a safe haven from the zombies.

Before Albuquerque was infected and subsequently turned into one of the undead, Albuquerque and Tallahassee were fighting over Rosario Dawson's character.
  • It's implied because Tallahassee and Albuquerque aggressively argued over who gets to "use the drive-way", the "drive-way" in question being a metaphor for Nevada's nether regions. In other words, they were fighting over who gets to have sex with Nevada.

The purpose of the even stupider Homer zombies are to distract survivors from dealing with other zombie types.

Albuquerque intentionally crushed Tallahassee's car simply out of sheer Disproportionate Retribution because he somehow found out that Tallahassee slept with Nevada.

After taking into consideration that Little Rock saved Tallahassee's life with a pistol, the people of Babylon abolished their "no guns" rule.

Alternatively, the people of Babylon relaxed their no gun policy to tolerate those who can use it well wielding the aforementioned sort of weapon.

Albuquerque has a son.
And unlike what happened with Buck, Albuquerque's son survived and is residing in a safe-zone. Albuquerque's son would angrily spit on his father's grave and Flagstaff's grave after Nevada tells him that Albuquerque and Flagstaff's egos are what got both men killed.

Nevada has a little sister.
And this little sister ran off with a boy and they reside in a town that comprised of people who adopted elements of Tallahassee's ideology as their own.

The Zombies haven't actually mutated
The movie opens claiming that their are now new variations of Zombies, Homers which are Stupid, Hawkings which are Smart, Ninjas which are Stealthy and Fast and the newly introduced T-800s which are more resilient. However I don't think that these are mutations, I think instead that originally the zombies have varying degrees of these skills and in the First film it was hard to tell them apart because their were so many of them. Now that this film is set 10 years later and the Zombie population has decreased significantly the only ones that are really left are the Strongest , the Smartest , the Fastest and the Toughest. It's basically a form of Natural selection, The Homers are probably the few remaining ordinary zombies , it's just now because the more danger zombies stand out more these ones stand out more for their stupidity.
  • Alternately, the mutations have more to do with when the victims turned into zombies. The T-100's are the oldest of the evolved zombies, the ones turned at the beginning and after surviving for so long, that's what makes them so tough and durable. The Hawkings and Ninja's were people who survived for a long time before being bitten, with the intelligence and/or stealthy reflexes that kept them alive for so long carrying over to their zombified selves.

Alternatively, the zombies actually ARE mutating, and they will continue to mutate.
I mean, if there were no mutations involved, then why are T-800 zombies stronger, faster, and more durable even by zombie standards? Why are Hawkings even smarter than zombie 406 was (zombie 406 could not even operate electronic devices like that female Hawking Zombie could, nor was zombie 406 able to learn how to do things in her zombified state)? Why are Ninja Zombies using stealth, something other zombies NEVER used before in the Zombieland Universe? Some form of mutation had to have happened in order to cause THOSE drastic changes.

Zombie 406 and the zombified cop that played dead from the first movie were prototype Hawking zombies.

The zombie from the gift shop in the first movie was a prototype T-800 zombie.
It did take two headshots to kill it. Most of the undead zombies in Zombieland take just one headshot.

The Evolved zombies each represent a member of the main group of the film
  • T-800s are Tallahassee, being the oldest strongest and most street smart type zombie.
  • Hawkings are Columbus, being smart enough to use tools and some actual skills, but not being as overall tough as the T-800s
  • Ninjas are both Wichita and Little Rock, being the faster members of the group tending to use ambush tactics rather than outright violence, like LR and W did in the first movie.
  • Homers are Madison, being the dumbest zombies, and getting easily attracted to basically the first thing they see, but in the group dynamic make good distractions for the rest, Homers would be useful to other zombies by distracting survivors by their stupidity, allowing other zombies to get the drop on them, just like madison manages to help Wichita by pepper spraying a zombie, basically harmless to it but stings it enough for Wichita to clear the gun jam.
  • A second sequel will eventually have a super-zombie that mirrors Nevada in some way.

Little Rock told Nevada about what happened to Bill Murray.
Little Rock met with Nevada before Columbus, Tallahassee and Wichita, so it is likely that she told her about it and Nevada made up the saying ("Murraying") before the three arrived.

When Nevada said she vowed to kill whoever killed Bill Murray, she says it with an odd intensity, staring right at Columbus at she says it and gives a light smirk that one could read as her trying not to burst out laughing, so it is likely that she knew Columbus did it and she was messing with him For the Lulz.

    Future Installments

In another future sequel, Barack Obama will show up as a guest star survivor.
Bonus points if there is a sub-plot one of the survivors blames Obama for the zombie apocalypse.
  • Of course, if somebody does blame Obama for the pandemic, Columbus or Tallahassee will probably call them out on blaming people when they should be focused on surviving.
  • And it would JUST be a sub-plot, with NO social commentary involved. The people blaming Obama and Columbus and Tallahassee calling out the blamers would be entirely played for laughs, in that they will add more jokes into the mix.
  • At the same time, I could see Tallahassee respecting Obama despite Obama being liberal and Tallahassee being conservative, and Columbus giving even more respect.
  • Also, aside from being a sub-plot and jokes about the blamers and people who call out the blamers, it could even lead to some jokes on Obama that are all in good fun, like how jokes about Bill Murray were made in good fun.

In a future sequel, Columbus takes yet ANOTHER level in badass and becomes the closest thing Zombieland has to a president.
  • With Wichita as the First Lady equivalent, Tallahassee and Nevada starting the equivalent of a Secret Service, Berkeley as a Vice President equivalent which subsequently makes Madison the equivalent of a Second Lady (Second Lady is what we Americans use as the term to refer to the wife of the Vice President), and Babylon's other young adults and adults serving as equivalents to Senators.

Zombieland 3 will feature a human villain.
And he or she would be a serial killer who takes advantage of the zombie apocalypse to get more victims.

A future installment won't have a human villain, but a Revenant Zombie who can still think like a human being.
Said revenant zombie will be able to talk to and command the other zombies, which will present a problem for our heroes as they aren't used to zombies using teamwork and strategy.
  • But said revenant zombie will also have some funny moments in that he or she will act kinda like the Joker in terms of personality, mannerisms, mentality, and behaviour, which invokes Columbus' fear of clowns.
  • Bonus points if the Revenant Zombie takes cues from Bub, Big Daddy or Smokey.

Alternatively, future installments will have both human villains and Revenant Zombies who can think like humans.
As another form of Sequel Escalation.

Alternatively alternatively, future installments will feature Expies of the Special Infected as the main villains.
It would make some sense as the zombie virus in Left 4 Dead and Zombieland are very similar.

Or, as yet another alternative, future installments will feature expies of the Special Infected, human villains, AND revenant zombies as main villains.
To add variety to the obstacles that Columbus and his allies will deal with in their journey, as well as Sequel Escalation and lastly to give Columbus and his allies more of a challenge.

Revenant Zombies that do show up will have Knight of Cerebus moments.
However, they will still have a few funny moments.

Human villains that do show up in future installments will also have Knight of Cerebus moments.
However, they will still have a few laugh-worthy moments.

In a future installment, Nevada has a kid and Tallahassee's the father.
  • If the baby is a girl, she will be named Becca. If the baby is a boy, he'll be named Buck.

In a future installment, Robert Kirkman will show up as a guest survivor.
Columbus' complaints to Robert Kirkman in terms of Kirkman's idea of a zombie apocalypse will be played for laughs.

The next film will take place another 10 years later and also be released ten years later as well.

A future installment will have vigilantes hunting for who killed Bill Murray as the main villains.

A future installment will have a sentient zombie who will be an ally to the protagonists.
He'll be a zombie that likes to fidget with inanimate objects out of curiosity and will help out the protagonists in fighting the zombies because he is using his memories from when he was alive and in the military to plan ways to evade or fight against the zombies. He does this because a scientist tamed him to the point that he is friendly towards good humans and will only fight against bad humans.
  • As a tearjerker, there will be a revelation that this zombie ally is the loving uncle of Wichita and Little Rock and he still loves his nieces even in his undead state. And for an even bigger tearjerker, he will also be desperately clinging to his memories of his beloved nieces.

A spin-off will feature a completely different monster to add variety.
Get ready for Vampireland, Werewolfland, Demonland, etc.

Babylon started out as a refuge for survivors from a school.
A lot of the survivors there are about the right age for it.

In a future sequel, Buck will be revealed to be alive....
It will be revealed that the dead body Tallahassee found was only a little boy who looked like him, and people who claim to be "police officers", asked Buck to come with them.
  • But unfortunately, the now young adult Buck is a part of a survivor colony that practices violent Nazism. No, not Neo-Nazism, more like old-school, 1940's-style, straight-from-the-fuhrer's mouth Nazism.
    • This leads to an American History X parody.... with zombies.

A future sequel will have a police officer join the cast of survivors.
  • And he or she will break the rule of "nicknames after cities or states" because he or she wants to cling to as much memories of pre-apocalypse times as he or she can, and Tallahassee, Columbus, and crew go along with this.

A future sequel will have a group of gamers that survived help out the Zombieland quartet.
  • And these gamers will give themselves nick-names based on video game characters.

In another sequel, Columbus will die.
But he will die a hero, and some of his rules will be used as laws for a re-built United States where zombies are basically rarely-seen wild animals that are pests.

In another sequel, it will be revealed that Tallahassee is immune...
But Wichita, Columbus, Madison, Nevada, and Little Rock are not.

In a third movie, the main villains will be a group of violent bullies that still want to murder Columbus even after the apocalypse, because said bullies are that petty.

In a third movie, Wichita will turn into a super-zombie.
But there is still remnants of her in her head despite her zombified condition. And she desperately clings to the memory of her sister (Little Rock), her kinda-sorta surrogate father figure (Talahassee), her new mom (Reno), and her husband (Columbus).

There will be a comic book series about a crossover between What If Zombies!? and Zombieland.

Brad Pitt will show up in Zombieland 3 as himself.

Guesses as to who a human villain could be for a possible next installment to the Zombieland series. Anyone can post their own ideas for human villains here.
