WMG / Star★Twinkle Pretty Cure

Go To

There will be a fifth Cure.
Calling the shots now, nearly every season of Precure has already done it.

There will be a sixth Cure.
This is for one of the prototype Cures that has yet to be filled: the Heel–Face Turn. For those claiming Cure Cosmo, she started off as a third party to the conflict joining forces with the Cures for a unified reason. What I mean is a full blown Notraider member switching sides.
  • Calling the shots, a purified Aiwarn can be the red cure of this season.

A Running Gag will happen in a form of a certain collectible.
The collectibles are based off the zodiac. Meaning that the princesses the cures need to save are based off them too. Meaning that there is such thing as a Gemini-based Princess.

Why bring up Gemini? Well... they say that there are 12 princesses, but according to official material, Gemini is... two princesses trapped in the same pen. Meaning that there are actually 13 princesses.

Meaning that the cures and fairies (or even their allies) might argue that there are 12 or 13 princesses when they save her... or shall we say... them?

The series will actually take place in the 80s.
It's already confirmed to have an 80s feel to it, but perhaps it outright takes place then.
  • Strangely, there is no HDTV, no cell phones, nothing. So this might be likely. This will be jossed by Earth technology that exists only in the New Tens.

The main villain’s goal is to plunge the universe into darkness.
That would be a goal that would make sense for this season.

Western Zodiac themes for the Star Princesses
See this picture for a closer look at the Princesses.
  • Aries
  • Taurus
  • Gemini
    • Two princesses in the same pen.
  • Cancer
  • Leo
  • Virgo
  • Libra
  • Scorpio
  • Sagittarius
  • Capricorn
  • Aquarius
  • Pisces

One of the female villains will become a Precure
Because why not? After all, several of them have taken this route. In fact the last two show that the better-known seiyuu tend to voice the villain-turned-Precures, and the core four's seiyuu are not really well-known compared to the big players.
  • Since the OP's Sinister Silhouettes include what appears to be three female villains (one of which is colored red), this might be more inevitable than it looks.

Ayana Taketatsu will voice one of the Precures
This will effectively make her role in the Precure-seiyu-voicing-female-Sentai-villains-as-their-first-Toku-VA-role pattern retroactive. Further, this would continue a five year pattern where one of the Cures's seiyu voiced a character in the previous year's Sentai season. Explain  Worst case scenario, another Rie Kugimiya Unexpected Character Replacement Scrappy Untwists into Base-Breaking Sixth Ranger status and is unfavorably compared to Cure Ace. Explain the joke!
  • Already jossed for the main four, so the best bet is Sixth Ranger.

Who's that dog?
In the previews, there's a shaggy dog. Is it a pet or a villain?
  • It turns out to be Hikaru's pet dog.

What each Precure (including the Sixth Ranger duo if they exist) is paired with:
Based on the color scheme of the Precure and Princesses:
  • Cure Star: Taurus (confirmed) / Virgo (she is female and this could signify her status as leader)
  • Cure Milky: Leo (confirmed) / Aquarius (color scheme)
  • Cure Soleil: Libra (confirmed) / Scorpio (color scheme)
  • Cure Selene: Capricorn (confirmed) / Sagittarius (color scheme and the fact that Selene uses an arrow attack)
  • Green cure if it exists: Cancer (color scheme) / Gemini (closer to green than Leo and Aquarius)
  • Red cure if it exists: Aries (color scheme) / Pisces (more red than the leftover Virgo)
Since Gemini is attached to the "Green cure?", she and the "Red cure?" might be twins in some way. Since green and red have Cancer and Pisces attached to them, they might be sea-related.
  • This list seems to be Jossed since the leaked Sixth Ranger doesn't have a pen holder.
  • The list for the coloru pens is also Jossed because Aquarius went to Cure Selene

Although Hugtto was already Darker and Edgier, Star Twinkle will up the ante.

The Precures have to be away from Earth longer than any Precure team has gone before.
Since they're on a journey to get the Star Pens, they can't be on Earth as much as they can.

The season's songs will shift away from the pop scene and use outdated genres like blues, disco, retro rock, and new wave. And this will be the first one since Maho Girls to have a villain character song.

Massive seiyuu WMG
At least a few of these 48 will voice either a Precure, a fairy, a close ally, or a villain:
    List
  • Etsuko Kozakura has been confirmed to voice Piton in Miracle Universe.
  • While still currently rumors, Maaya Uchida is said to be voicing the leaked Cure Cosmos.
    • That one may be jossed since it is actually Sumire Uesaka doing just that.

In the middle are what appear to be three skirts, colored red, blue, and yellow.
  • These are clearly our villains for this season, though why they had to be in silhouette considering how last season’s villains weren’t is beyond me.

Identity of the female alien in the OP
In the OP, there is a closeup of a female hat and glasses-wearing alien with two drill-shaped pigtails on the back of the head. a cat-like tail, and a tall hat. The female alien is staring at an alien-like city, and when you zoom into the glasses we see the alien city.

Like Regina and Julio, he/she/it might make a cameo at the end of an episode sometime between ep 9 and ep 13, befriend the Precures, turn out to be evil, and have a dark secret about him/her/it revealed between ep 19 and 23.

Similar to Twilight/Towa/Cure Scarlet, another Precure who got her own OP scene as a villain before even appearing, the female alien may become the (or "a" if more than one) Heel–Face Turn Sixth Ranger cure.

  • The leaked Cure Cosmo has a top hat and cat ears/a tail, so this is likely her.
  • The soundtrack tracklist for the upcoming soundtrack lists a song titled, "The universe's phantom thief, the blue cat."

Why does Elena have dark skin?
Elena is half-Italian.
  • Her name is common in Italy
  • Her catch phrase is 'Ciao'
  • Her family's store is "Sonrisa"
  • Italians tend towards darker/olive skin color than other Europeans.
  • She has six younger brothers. Italians are predominantly Roman Catholics, who as a whole have been long associated with high birth rates.
    • Jossed, since it's been revealed that her father is actually Hispanic. Though her Italian catchphrase may be because her mother is a translator.

One of the meta-purposes for the Star Princesses was for Toei to tap some seiyuu who rarely voiced Precure characters before or not at all
  • Ayako Kawasumi who voiced Taurus previously voiced Loretta-sensei in Maho Girls.

The female alien in the OP is related to Nanase Yui.
The alien is essentially a Stylish Yui. And evil yet so stylish. Seriously I hope she doesn't become the Sixth Ranger mainly because she invokes Villainous Fashion Sense.

Madoka is Evil All Along, The Mole, or has a Dark and Troubled Past so horrifying that it would make all the previous purple cures squirm in terror.
All of the purple cures have had issues ever since Yuri made it profitable. Even Liko has issues involving family. And Toei loves to play it safe with Precure. Madoka looks like way too much of a nice girl to essentially be the Yuri of Star Twinkle so there has to be something hidden beneath the smile since this is likely an attempt to redo Iona considering the promotional materials.
  • She is part of a government agency covering up aliens, although she's not antagonistic.

The Ophiuchus Zodiac will feature somehow.
Possibly as the Cures' super forms or another power up.

Leo Minor is the daughter or son of Leo.
Leo Minor is a smaller lion constellation in real life. One of the 12 Star Princesses is Leo. Perhaps she has a daughter or son, Leo Minor.

This season will be unexpectedly Darker and Edgier.
The reason I say unexpected is because since Hugtto was quite serious, many fans aren't expecting this season to be on that level. Naturally, fans will be surprised when this season turns out to be quite serious as well.

Hikaru will get called out.
She may have learned her lesson in Episode 3, but who knows if she will become stubborn and impulsive again in future episodes. Perhaps it will lead to realistic consequences in the future, resulting in tensions between her and the other girls, leading her to realize that she needs to seriously reconsider her actions.

Another male cure is coming.
We saw what happened with Cure Infini. If a male Cure is coming, he might be leaked when more toys are released in around March or April. He'll debut after Cure Cosmo is introduced.

Even if the Precure save the universe Lala will end up suffering for it.
It's becoming a running theme that it sucks to be Lala Hagoromo. She's pretty much the Peter Parker of Precure and the whole getting banned from space travel feels like one hell of a Chekov's gun. So even if the Precure defeat the Knot Raiders in the end Lala, Prunce, and Fuwa will be stuck on Earth for the rest of their lives.

After the team is assembled, the Notraiders will introduce a new Monster of the Week.
  • Confirmed. Using Star Pens, the Notraiders can summon monsters called Nottoreigas.

The yellow-haired schoolgirl who saw Lala in Episode 4 is Cure Cosmo.
They both have similar hairstyles. Perhaps she is an alien on Earth for whatever reason and seeing Lala freaked her out because she knows Lala is an alien.
  • While possible, a point against this theory is that their eyes look very different from each other and Cosmo appears to have pointed ears, indicating she'll likely be of alien origin.
  • Further, her hair is yellow, while Cure Cosmo's is blue.
    • This is confirmed to be fully jossed in Episode 25 where Yuni and Sakurako are two separate people. Another jossed demonstration of this before Episode 25's release occurred in Episode 9 where Bakenyan is Blue Cat under disguise, it's unlikely for Blue Cat to be Bakenyan and Sakurako at the same time.
  • Jossed. Episode 24 put them in the same scene. As separate people.

Where did Aiwarn get the Star Color Pen?
Maybe Cure Cosmo had something to do with it.
  • Episode 6's preview shows that it appears to just be a corrupted Leo pen which she likely found.

The Men in Black will appear at some point.
The opportunity is there, with the government knowing about aliens as seen in Episode 5. It surely can't just be Japan that knows. Different governments would have different methods in dealing with aliens, and some (like America) would have the MIB.

Youkai motifs for aliens
  • Kennel and Coumarin will be populated by inugami and onikuma.
  • Cure Cosmo will be modeled after nekomata.
    • Jossed, it's a bakeneko.

Mysterious Girl will make a cameo appearance in episode 9
After all, the episode title has "Friendship" in it.
  • Jossed. Was just a Madoka-centered episode where she learned that she can rely on her friends.

Episode 17 is Episode 750 of Pretty Cure in general
What better way to commemorate it than a truckload of mythology gags?

The Star Pens will all be gathered by the midway point of the season.
Notice how it's only been 15 episodes and six of the twelve pens have been gathered. They must be trying to get this princess plot out of the window as quickly as possible!

The Notraiders will be killed off by the midway point and be replaced by a new villain group.
Since the writer of this season also wrote Maho Girls Pretty Cure!, it wouldn't be surprising for this series to take this turn. By the time Cure Cosmo joins, the Not Raiders will have all either have defected or been killed off, leading to a new villain group.

Madoka will temporarily betray the girls and rat Lala out.
She is clearly stressed out about lying to her father. It's only a matter of time before she snaps and reveals everything to her father.
  • Thankfully, Madoka remained loyal to her friends. The bad news is that in episodes 40 and 41, her dad put two and two together from an unknown witness and deduced that aliens were in the school.

Precure on the run
Thanks to Madoka's dad finding the ship in the end of ep10, the Cures, Fuwa and Prunce will have to leave Earth for a long time.

Mysterious girl has something to do with Ayewan
  • Mysterious girl is projected to become Cure Cosmo.
  • Ayewan basically looks same age as the Cures.
  • Why else does Ayewan have a device that turns Pens dark?
  • Bakenyan and mysterious girl are cat aliens.
  • Ayewan seems to respect Bakenyan but openly disrespects Kappard and Tenjo. In ep 11, Ayewan honored Bakenyan's request not to be turned Notrigger, but when she does the same to Kappard and Tenjo, it seems to be against their will.
  • There's hints that Bakenyan is more powerful than he lets on and that he doesn't truly support the Notraiders. His true colors have yet to be seen.
  • One of the songs being named "The universe's phantom thief Blue Cat" indicates that she seems to have been involved in stealing Star Pens.
  • Doesn't it look suspicious that Bakenyan wouldn't be at Blue Cat's first battle with the Cures even though Ayewan was?

If the Cures get all 12 pens mid-series, Ayewan will take all 12 of them at once, similar to how Joker stole all the Decors in Smile Pretty Cure!.

The Notraiders will take over Earth for the endgame arc.
Given that the Precures have witnessed stuff like turn Earth into a desert and turn Earth into a barren land, this is inevitable.

Bakenyan will be related to Cure Cosmo.
They're the only cat aliens in the series and they have similar cat ears. The facial markings under Bakenyan's eyes is exactly the same blue shade of Cure Cosmo's hair.
  • Episode 19 reveals that Bakenyan is Blue Cat under disguise, so... yes?

Lala will choose to stay on Earth at the end of the series.
  • Jossed since she ended up returning home in episode 48.

Prunce will become the sixth cure, or an 11th-Hour Ranger in a future episode.
Prunce has been seen fighting the monsters alongside the girls at some points in the show, so there's a chance he could fight alongside them as a human cure, similar to what happened with Pikario.

Blue Cat will make an unannounced cameo in end of 13 just like Regina
A significant theme seems to exist in Precure's 13th episode:

Orange cure has a different Transformation Trinket a la Cures Moonlight and Fortune
The orange component is the only one of the six not to have a corresponding cure appear in the Twinkle Book, leaked or not.
  • Apparently the orange cure is serious business.

Mao was a former member of the Notraiders
She knows who Aiwarn and the Precures are and is focused on obtaining the Star Princess Pens, yet gives Sagittarius to Selene. It's possible that she was a member of the Notraiders until she left, whether due to moral or personal reasons.
  • Episode 19 complicates this; it turns out Mao is a member of the Notraiders, albeit under disguise as Bakenyan.

Mao will either betray the Cures or be brainwashed before she becomes Cure Cosmo

The Maho Girls Pretty Cure! will unceremoniously appear in the Non-Serial Movie
They were in Kirakira and Hugtto's movie, so why not. After all, they were made Olympic mascots.
  • Not to mention the fact that the writer of this season also wrote Maho Girls.

Mao is from Planet Rainbow
...And she's simply reclaiming the valuables from there that were sold across the universe. There is no other reason for that planet to be mentioned without it being important in some way.
  • Episode 17 gives further credence to that idea, as Mao/Blue Cat only keeps the treasures that came from Planet Rainbow, giving the rest to the poor.
  • Confirmed in Episode 19.

Blue Cat will be the rival archer girl in Episode 16.
What better way to get back at Madoka?
  • Jossed; she was just a one-shot character.

After collecting the Star Princesses Color Pens, the Precure will have to collect the treasures of Planet Rainbow.
With several episodes soon to focus on both Blue Cat/Cosmos and Planet Rainbow, it wouldn't be surprising if the next set of collectables focuses on key treasures from Planet Rainbow. (Perhaps seven; one for each color.)

Each Cure will rescue her respective star sign's Princess Pen.
We already have Madoka/Cure Selene (a Sagittarius) rescue Sagittarius in episode 15 and Elena/Cure Sollei (a Virgo) be the one to rescue the Virgo pen. It's only a matter of time before Hikaru/Cure Star and Lala/Cure Milky rescue the Princess Pens that match their own star signs (Aries and Cancer respectively).

Another Acting for Two situation involving the Star Princesses like with Fresh its Pickruns; and a Star Princess becomes a Cure
Four of the Princesses have their own seiyu, three of them also voice villains, and that's five left. But, one of the villains is to be a cure, so it's possible four of the five princesses will have the same seiyu as the main four cures.

That just leaves one leftover. But then we remember the "orange cure is serious business" WMG. And them we remember, in SPC20 and STPC20-or-whatever have a cat-villain become a Cure; SPC35 has a princess become a Cure, so STPC35 might make a Star Princsss a cure. (see the Aiwarn becomes a Cure WMG)

Bakenyan is actually real.
Or at least his appearance is based off an existing person. Perhaps the real Bakenyan is merely one of the petrified citizens of Planet Rainbow that Blue Cat used to base her disguised appearance as.
  • It was confirmed in episode 38 where he is based on Hakkenyan, a fortune teller who is Yuni's friend.

Blue Cat's real form resembles her people.
She has a more human appearance than the rest of her people, who are basically anthropomorphic cats. This is only because of her perfume and she really looks like her people after all.
  • Confirmed in episode 20 and her real name is "Yuni".

Blue Cat has mixed heritage.
The inverse of the above WMG, in which Blue Cat is the child of a Rainbow Planet denizen and another human-like alien. This mixed heritage is what gives her human and animal characteristics, such as possessing both human and cat ears, and it resulted in her being ostracized by the Rainbow Planet denizens. This, in turn, led to her leaving Rainbow Planet, which explains why she wasn't on the planet when Ayewan turned its denizens to stone.

Or Blue Cat's thieving caused her being expelled from Planet Rainbow
She did steal the Princess Pens and Fuwa...

Blue Cat's perfume will allow her to get in school.
If her perfume turned her into Bakenyan, imagine what she can do with it...

Aiwarn becomes the red-or-orange cure.
  • Remember the "orange Cure" WMG.
  • Aiwarn looks a lot like the Cures' age.
  • The Aries Pen (which is red) took eleven eps (an unusually long time) to be activated after Aiwarn took it from the Cures just as the latter found it.
  • Why would Bakenyan (Blue Cat) stop the Cures from catching a missed opportunity on the Aries pen?
  • Aiwarn has tech that turns Pens dark. The tech looks like something that can be converted into a pen morpher.
  • If she becomes a Precure, that makes the Precure team half-alien half-Earth.
  • Why would a Sixth Ranger Cure and a new ending sequence debut so early (20 and 21 respectively)?

The Men in Black will give the Cures a device for their super forms

Their super forms will be based on the galaxy
We'll found out when episode 32 hits.

The grand finale will feature the Notraiders commanders revolting against their master
Extra points if Aiwarn becomes an 11th Hour Cure a la Royale Candy, Pekorin, and those two Kiryuu guys.

Darknest is a Star Prince
Specifically, Prince Ophiuchus. He felt overshadowed by his more beloved sisters, so now he wants to command the universe by taking away the light of the other constellations. All just to get attention.
  • This is confirmed but "he" is actually a Star Princess.

The commanders will transform into evil versions of the Cures in the finale
  • Darknest will split into evil versions of Cure Star and Cure Cosmo
  • Garuouga will become an evil version of Cure Milky
  • Kappard will become an evil version of Cure Soleil
  • Aiwarn will become an evil version of Cure Selene

Lala is from a culture that went past the technological singularity.
The AI here has a higher intelligence than any biological being, but it lacked creativity and imagination.

Aiwarn is indeed way worse than every other similar Precure villainess.
While we have Eas, Siren, Regina, Twilight, Bibury, Ruru and Those Two Guys, Aiwarn has two Completely Monsterous qualities that none of these previous villainesses have: Lack of Empathy and the willingness to commit genocide on a planet over some measly Star Pen.

One thing makes her way worse than Dark Precure: Dark Precure had compassion for her father. Aiwarn had no compassion for jacksquat.

Aiwarn sent to Bibury camp
After she left with Cure Cosmo's ride, she was never seen again, not even when Darknest was revived. She probably went somewhere in the universe to relax but got stuck on the planet for some reason. Let's hope she didn't go blow up another planet over a Star Pen.
  • This seems to lean that way since the new OP has Aiwarn wear a hoodie, indicating she is in hiding.

Aiwarn destroyed Kappard's planet so much as she did Planet Rainbow
In one ep Kappard said his planet was destroyed. Did Aiwarn destroy that planet with a malfunctioning Dark Star Pen that turned people into stone after seeing that what she did to Planet Rainbow gave her an idea...

The other two pens (Cancer and Pisces) are in Kappard and Tenjo's planets
The colors of Cancer (light green) and Pisces (pink) are lighter variants of those of Kappard (green) and Tenjo (red).

Kappard said his planet was destroyed. It's possible Tenjo's was destroyed too.

Aiwarn destroyed Planet Saman after the Cures left in ep 26
Episode title says "in a depressed state".
  • Jossed; she does attempt to take over Saman using the Mother AI but it doesn't work, plus, this happens after the Cures arrive on Saman and not before. The title is likely referring to Lala's reluctance to return home rather than Saman being in a depressed state in general.

Aiwarn becomes the red cure in ep 32.
She steals the 12 pens to become a "Black Princess"-like cure in ep 31, which then leads to her becoming a cure in ep 32.
  • Jossed; She makes no appearance in ep 32. The cures obtain their new Twinkle Style and use Star Twinkle Imagination. against Galogre.

Fuwa becomes the White Precure.
A promo image after Cosmo's appearance showcases the main 5 girls alongside a 6th white cure who is most like to be Fuwa as a cure.
  • The promo image is for a live stage show, but that still might be a hint to something that will happen in the main series.

Darknest is a robot of some kind.
Whenever his face is zoomed in on his eyes are not solid but instead formed from multiple lines as if they were on a screen and his voice is heavily distorted as if it was being spoken through a speaker.
  • Jossed as it's revealed Darknest is really the 13th Star Princess of the Ophiuchus constellation.
