Long after humans went extinct, the original Secret Squirrel became a famous historical figure and inspired some people, like a certain squirrel named for him. The 90's versions of Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole are the successors of the 60's incarnations
The incarnations seen in 2 Stupid Dogs stepped into action after their predecessors retired. The absence of humans is because of segregation issues bad enough that the Funny Animals have been driven to separate habitats by the human population.- Why not make them their children or nephews? Makes pretty decent sense they would idolize and want to follow in the footsteps of their famous relations.
