The story will have a subplot directly inspired by the Aiton & Makoton subplot of the Patapon games.
At one point in the story, you will come across two Mooks who are named, but otherwise normal-looking. They apparently have a close relationship, but end up torn apart due to the protagonist killing one of them. The other escapes, full of rage and grief, and swears vengeance upon your kind for what you've done. In the process, they go to self-destructive lengths to gain power, such as disobeying orders from their commander and making a Deal with the Devil. It will all be Played for Drama, leading to the deuteragonist or other allies genuinely questioning whether their quest is worth all the death and destruction they've caused. If Ratatan goes on to have sequels, it will even be revealed that the mook defied death itself to continue their vendetta against your kind, despite the fact that they're no longer the same person anymore.Unlike in Patapon, the story will not be ambiguous about their gender identities or whether or not their relationship was romantic.
