The walrus in Pingu Dreams is either Freddy Krueger or his accomplice.
Human explorers from various countries settled in the area at one point.
This can explain how Penguinese takes bits and pieces from several languages, the usage of items such as laundry machines, cameras, and accordions is commonplace, and the way of life of the Penguins in the show is similar to ours.
Pingu exists in the far future where global warming has resulted in such extreme weather that a planetary snowstorm wiped out most pieces of civilization, including humanity.
Penguins, as a result, evolved to become extremely intelligent due to circumstances that caused them to become a dominant species, allowing them to rebuild the destroyed Earth. And this also explains how what seems to be a simple gale in "Pingu's Windy Day" can blow averagely sized penguins around like kites with minimal effort.
The South Pole is full of unstable regions of reality.
Which explains why the penguins talk (they crossed out of another universe) and why the igloos are Bigger on the Inside.
