WMG / Leisure Suit Larry

Go To

Larry 5-7 and the VGA remake of Larry 1 are all games programmed by Larry after the ending of Larry 3
  • As established at the end of Larry 3, Larry now works for Sierra and happily settles down with Patti. This in turn makes Larry the "Al Lowe" of the Larry universe. The game we see on Larry's computer is obviously the first Larry game, and the next game in the series to be released was the VGA remake. After that, who's to say Larry was the one who came up with the amnesia plot of Larry 5 to continue his "adventures" with Patti? The reason why Patti is absent in 6 and 7? Maybe Patti gave Larry the idea to exclude her so he could continue his womanizing ways without any repercussions.

Freddy Pharkas is an ancestor of Larry
  • Freddy Pharkas, Frontier Pharmacist takes place in the past of the Leisure Suit Larry series. Pharkas is an ancestor due to no evidence aside from both sharing an alliterative name and having similar hair. Also related to Larry is Crazy Nick from the old Electronics Boutique catalogs.
    • Jossed with Zircon Jim Laffer, mentioned as Larry's ancestor in that game. Unless there's a secret family connection between Freddy and Zircon that hasn't been mentioned.
      • Maybe Zircon Jim is Larry's paternal ancestor, while Freddy Pharkas is his maternal ancestor?

The LSL games after 5 happen in an alternate world where Larry leaves Nontoonyt Island after resolving to continue his womanizing ways
  • This addresses the absence of Passionate Patti (he never met her again after flying out of Nonookee's fortress), his more loserish characterization (he never went through the character development he had in his adventures with Patti), and how debatably easier the games became (Larry learns from his past adventures to avoid doing anything beyond the needed that would put himself in danger).

There's a Timey Wimey Ball situation that is making Larry repeatedly live his life while also swapping things around in each run
  • This not only addresses the references to canonically later games in the remakes (such as Larry wondering in LSL 1's VGA remake whether Patti knows that Al Lowe and Bill Skirvin are hanging around again), but also LSL 1 Larry meeting his older self, and the shifting details like Eve's ethnicity.
    • Possibly canon seeing as Wet Dreams Don't Dry has one of the backup bodies of Larry boot up in "Current day" (ie post 2020).

Future remakes for any of the games after In The Land Of The Lounge Lizards will also change details in them
  • This will be done to draw interest, possibly fix any less satisfactory plot points or sequences, and just for kicks. Possible scenarios are:
    • A LSL 2 remake having Barbara Bimbo go on the cruise with Larry instead of her mother. However, it'll turn out she inherited Mama Bimbo's lunacy and will kill Larry (perhaps even as a dominatrix) when he's trying to have sex with her.

The guy in the bar and the guy in the barrel in LSL1 are con artists
  • The guy didn't really lose all his money, but he's just pretending to scam money from people. The two share the money and switch ever night. Hence the blabbermouth's "tonight it's your turn in the barrel' comment.

Larry is on the autism spectrum
  • There are some traits to him that may make him go past a regular dork. He's obsessed with women chasing (people with autism have displayed hypersexuality, not just asexuality) and has shown an interest in computers. He's typically not the best at conversing with others. He would always go through the same motions at work, working wear has a different pocket protector for each day of the week where he carefully puts three felt tip pens (red, green, and black), and be shy there in general. The seventh game also mentions that due to a personal aversion to wearing anything that's not leisure wear, the would never wear a tie, an article of clothing many autistics have shown a disdain towards due to finding it uncomfortable and in general having their preferred clothes.
