Barry is coming straight from the end of Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
- The problem with this is Warner Bros.' official synopsis under the trailer on YouTube says this is a Barry Allen who has just discovered the Speed Force, and in the promotional video included with Soul of the Dragon Barry says he's never seen a superhero team before.
- Well in that case, They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot.
- Never Trust a Trailer / Lying Creator could also be in effect. This troper had the same thought.
- Jossed as of the "Picnic Dates" clip, where Barry was on a date with Iris before he went back in time.
- Plus, Iris is black here, while she was white in the War continuity.
- If anything, the movie is part of a new Shared Universe with Superman: Man of Tomorrow and Batman: The Long Halloween.
- Seemingly unJossed since Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths implies it IS the same Barry and him resetting the universe again is what caused the Crisis to begin with
The main villain is Vandal Savage.
Again.- Jossed.
Steve will die.
Diana and Steve's running joke about her repeatedly rejecting his proposals seems like a setup for Diana to finally accept it as he's dying.- Confirmed.
If this movie gets a sequel and/or Shared Universe, Diana's accent will have worn away.
From living among Americans. This movie is setting up Crisis on Infinite Earths
- Confirmed as of San Diego Comic-Con 2023, with the movie set to release in 2024 alongside an animated Watchmen movie.
Setting up future films
So obviously the first thing this is setting up is the Justice League, but I also think they are setting up other stuff:- Since it wouldn't make sense to have to introduce the Earth-1 Wonder Woman when they could just use the version from this film, I think at some point she will end up trapped on Earth-1 to join the Justice League. Black Canary might join her since she mentions her relationship with Larry Lance hasn't been going well, and in the comics she moved to Earth-1 and began a relationship with Green Arrow (who has appeared in Batman: The Long Halloween).
- Jossed, Wonder Woman is mentioned in Green Lantern: Beware My Power which is set on Earth-1.
- They don't explain who that prisoner was who gave Clark his Superman suit and he says some odd things. I think he's a canon character from the future trying to prevent something bad, and Dr Fate's powers means he is also aware something is going to happen that threatens both, if not all, universes. I might even by the Crisis on Infinite Earths like the above point.
- That prisoner is Kamandi and his involvement in the film is set up in DC Showcase: Kamandi, the short that is included in Justice Society: World War II's Blu-Ray bonus features.
Brainiac was Actually a Doombot.
Let's be honest here: Brainiac ordinarily wouldn't go down so easily and it seems like a bit of waste of the character. This theory proposes that the 'Brainiac' that was fought and killed here was merely a drone used to scout Earth and get information on Earth's heroes. If this is correct, Brainiac will make a full appearance later in the movies' timeline, possibly even serving as an Arc Villain or even the overall Big Bad like Darkseid before him, and will be just as powerful as he usually is.
