Plot points from The Bourne Legacy will appear.
Not very wild now, is it? We might see one or more of the following Continuity Nods:
  • Outcome and/or LARX agents chasing Bourne down.
    • There's a LARX nod in the files.
  • Some mention of Aaron Cross's exploits in the previous film.
  • A hint of some enhancement treatment in Bourne's past similar to that undergone by Outcome agents.
  • A cameo appearance by Eric Byer, the man overseeing the NRAG operation, or any of the other individuals introduced in The Bourne Legacy, who may or may not get involved in whatever Bourne gets into this time.

Vincent Cassel's character is the man who killed David Webb's father
Going by one of the TV spots, it seems that Bourne volunteered for Treadstone because his father was killed in a terrorist attack and he learns during the course of the movie that he wasn't killed by terrorists. Put two and two together...
  • Confirmed.

Identity of Vincent Cassel's character
  • Phillipe D'Anjou: A character who in the books was a fellow operative of David Webb's and who later trained his own Jason Bourne imitator. Cassel's character could be an updated and modified version of this character. D'Anjou in the books was mostly an ally of Bourne's but given that the movies have gone the Adaptational Villainy route with characters like Conklin and Abbott, it isn't much of a stretch for them to do so here. Besides, Cassel physically resembles D'Anjou from the book.
  • The original Jason Bourne. In the books the real Jason Bourne was an Australian businessman turned mercenary who ended up being executed by Webb after betraying their unit. However, this need not necessarily be the case in the films, with the original Jason Bourne still alive and being one of the masterminds behind the creation of his 'successor'. It would also make the title of the film a more Double-Meaning Title.
  • Carlos - or at any rate, the film version of him. He might be an assassin who studied the methods of the real-life Carlos, Illich Ramirez Sanchez, and who took the name.
    • Jossed; he's a former Blackbriar asset who also happens to be the man who killed David Webb's father.

By the end of the movie, Bourne will be offered a job by the CIA
Already implied by Word of God suggesting that the CIA need Bourne because he's the "hundred million dollar weapon". This combined with indications in the trailers and TV spots that the CIA Director, played by Tommy Lee Jones, asks Bourne for help and tells him to accept who he "really is"; as well as Alicia Vikander's character claiming that they "need the perfect weapon" does suggest there's a lot to this possibility.
  • Confirmed, but he declines the offer.
