WMG / Flight Rising

Go To

Pearl is a bald Tundra.
If you look at her design, she shares her face, ear, wing, and horn shapes with Tundra dragons. Her spines and the fin of her tail are outliers, but one might reasonably speculate that Tundras have the tail fin and spines beneath their fluffy fur.
  • Technically Jossed, as she, Edgar, and Spitfire are a separate 'breed' of courier dragons with unique appearances, but it's still interesting to imagine a bald or shaved baby Tundra looking like Pearl due to their physical similarities.

Tomo used to be a tundra but used a breed-changing scroll on herself
Her memory problems are reminiscent of a tundra’s short memory, so possibly the scroll she used was defective, leaving her with the breed’s issues with keeping long-term memories, but took away her olfactory memory.

The Ancient Breeds will be revealed in the order the Bounty of the Elements stories were released
So far, the first three Ancients originated from the same flight as the first three BOE stories. Three’s a trend; this will continue for all ancient breeds (skipping flights that already have two breeds) until every element has two breeds. Since the last ancient as of this WMG being written was Shadow, the next one will be Lightning.
  • Jossed by staff, who confirmed the order so far has been coincidence.

Couriers will be an obtainable breed at some point.
Couriers are the breed of dragon that Edgar, Pearl, and Spitfire are. Although the theory of them being the next modern breed is currently jossed (as Obelisks ended up being the next modern breed), it probably wouldn't be impossible for them to be an ancient breed, or even a modern breed sometime down the line.
  • Jossed by Staff.

Dragon eggs are fertilized externally.
Outside influences on eggs affecting them are already a thing (flight determining eye colour), and it's easier than imagining a male Imperial/female Fae conception.
  • Dragons are very magical creatures, so maybe they create their eggs via magic?
