    Pre-Release Theories
Victoria Kord suits up for the final battle with Jaime
  • And it'll be a purple stag beetle.
    • tossed, Victoria never suits up.

Ted Kord is still alive.
All of his equipment is still around, he's simply keeping underground so he can undermine Victoria in secret and him acting as Jaime's Mission Control will be the Sequel Hook.
  • Possibly confirmed by the stinger.

Dan Garret is still alive
Unfortunately he's in a sanatorium after having been broken by his time as the Blue Beetle... or at least that's what Victoria believes.
  • tossed, Rudy states that the Scarab was removed from Dan Garret after his death.

Jarvis Kord is NOT still alive
A huge part of Victoria's motivation is avenging him.

If Ted Kord is in the film, he will be played by a big name actor and appears in Post-Credit Scenes
Similarly, Dan Garret will be played by a veteran actor with more comedic cred akin to Bill Murray in Quantumania. Like say Dan Aykroyd.

There will be an allusion to Justice League International
There will be mentions of a team that Ted Kord was a part of. At some point there might even be a recreation of the iconic Issue #1 cover as a photo in collages of Ted's previous adventures, someone might even cheekily respond to something someone says about it with "Wanna make somethin' of it?"
  • tossed, this movie only mentions Batman, Superman, and the Flash in passing dialogue. No reference is made to other DC Superheroes or the Justice League.

Booster Gold will appear in a sequel
Can't have Blue Beetle without Booster, plus he and Jaime did team up in the comics a few times.

The Stinger will foreshadow the coming of the Reach
The Reach will discover Jaime through his scarab and show intrigue in how he'll benefit them.
  • tossed. While the movie does mention that the Scarab is alien technology, there's nothing that depicts the species that built them.

Other possibilities for The Stinger
  • Jaime is testing suit abilities in the safety of a quarry, and fires off something dangerous like a huge barbed javelin. As in, a stinger.
    • Bonus points if the scarab has picked up Spanish by this time.
  • Just Dan Garret and Rudy talking at length.
  • A Green Lantern shows up to helpfully inform Jaime that they have their eye on him.
  • There's a brief shimmer of reality running through the city, which leaves no lasting effect, but only Jaime could see The Flash (2023) passing through worlds.
  • Black Beetle arrives from the future to hunt down Jaime, only to find himself confronted by Booster Gold, who also wants to find Jaime.
  • It'll turn out that Jaime is retelling the movie to some old friends of his that he's visiting in El Paso, those two being Paco and Brenda.
  • The Reach prepare to invade Earth.
  • Peacemaker is assigned by Amanda Waller to investigate the scarab.
    • None of these come true, except Khaji-Da does speak Spanish at some of the later points.

    Sequel Theories
The empty mannequin in Ted Kord's house is intended to host Booster Gold's suit

The reason it's not there is because Booster Gold is currently active, looking for Ted.

The reach will be the villains and other DC characters, possibly the Suicide Squad, will be sent after Jamie.

The scene of Alberto Reyez telling Jaime It Is Not Your Time wasn't a mystical, near-death experience.
That was the Scarab going deeper into Jaime's brain, combing through his memories and beliefs to find an authority figure that he respects and trusts. In Jaime's compromised emotional state after the death of his father, Khaji-Da posing as Alberto and saying "you have to give yourself fully to me in order to survive" explains how the brain waves sync up. We'll find out this is a tactic used by Reach Infiltrators to make their hosts more willing to give them over to the Scarab and thus, easier to manipulate.

Brenda and Paco will appear as friends of Jaime's from college who have both recently moved to Palmera City
That, or they'll his old childhood friends who only just heard he was back in town. Brenda was being kept in the dark by her aunt - who is actually the head of Palmera's underworld - and Paco could've been in jail due to being in the Posse.

Potential Villains
  • The Reach: They would be the safest bet, given that they're the creators of the Scarab.
  • Amparo Cardenas/La Dama: A powerful Homo Magi who uses spells and curses to rule the Palmera City underworld. She is the maternal aunt of Brenda Del Vecchio, a friend of Jaime's from either his childhood or college. She would be a Contrasting Sequel Antagonist, as she's violently protective of Brenda whereas Victoria was dismissive and hateful towards Jenny.
  • Sky Witness: A Mayan who encountered the Scarab when it first landed on Earth. Due to it being damaged, he was able to essentially enslave Khaji Da and use the power that brought to rule over his people and extend his life. To keep the Scarab, he entombed himself with it, but Khaji Da broke free from the tomb and left the somehow living Sky Witness there, forced to watch Dan Garrett take it. The reactivation of the Scarab somehow allows Sky Witness to break free and pursue Jaime, who he thinks is Dan Garrett.
    • No, please don't. If anything, I'd rather prefer it if Victoria was his reincarnation.
    • Given that Victoria is dead, it wouldn't matter who she was in a hypothetical past life.
  • Queen Bee/H.I.V.E.: Insect theme terrorist be(e)hind Ted's disappearance

Traci Thirteen will appear

Casting possibilities for Ted Kord
  • Ted Danson
  • Tim Allen
  • John Travolta

Jenny Kord's mother
  • Jenny Kord is said to be Brazilian (and is played by a Brazilian actress), which means that her mother would have been Brazilian (as Ted Kord is an American). Her mother is most likely Beatriz da Costa AKA Fire, the Brazilian superheroine who, in the comics, was one of Ted Kord's teammates in the Justice League International. It also raises the possibility that Jenny could have inherited her mother's metahuman abilities...
  • Alternatively, it could be a racebent Tracey from the comics. This would free up anyone else to be a superhero, and be an excellent callback to an obscure character.

Batman Inc. exists in the filmverse
Batman Incorporated is a thing in the movieverse, and thus Batman has been spread far and wide. This includes how his lore is known by the world at large, including the Reyes family.

Booster Gold will recruit Jaime Rayes to find and/or rescue Ted Kord
