The Night is Grey is a video game developed by Whalestork Interactive.

The game's main protagonist is a man named Graham, who finds himself lost in a forest after running away from three wolves. He then meets a little girl named Hannah, who's remained alone in her house after her mother left. Together, the two decide to reach the village where Hannah's grandparents reside.

A demo was released in 2021. The release date for the full game was delayed various times, until it eventually came out in 2024.

The game provides examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: Graham's parents were far from the best, with his mother being incredibly abusive and his father implicitly too.
  • Big Bad Triumvirate: The three wolves are the main threat in the game.
  • Missing Mom: Hannah's mother left her daughter alone at home and never returned, which immediately makes Graham take a guess of what happened to her.
  • Once More, with Clarity: The game first opens with Graham stumbling out of the forest and coming across Hannah, and after calming her during a brief confrontation wherein she mistakes him for a monster the main objective becomes getting her to the safety of her grandparents, as her mother has gone missing. After doing so the story abruptly cuts to back to before Graham arriving at those woods, shining a light on the events leading up to the beginning, namely that Graham is a deeply troubled individual who had an unhealthy obsession with Hannah's mother, and she's disappeared because he murdered her in a fit of rage after she rejected him, this completely recontextualizes his interactions with Hannah, especially their first meeting where she fearfully calls him a monster and he shakily denies it.
