Nelo (pronounced Neelo) is a fast-paced Action Game by Magic And Mirrors.

On the planet Tono Gian, the people have prospered thanks to the power of science, curing all diseases that would have ravaged the population. Unfortunately, the resulting longevity lead to overpopulation that exhausted the planet's resources beyond their ability to provide for its healthy people.

Undeterred, the Tono Gian's decided to create a machine known as the Nightsithe, which would explore other planets and bring back any resources it discovered for the Tono Gian's to live on. Unfortunatwly, the most valuable resource the Nightsithe found were the Tono Gians themselves, and promptly went about harvesting them.

The survivors immediately left Tono Gian, fleeing from the monster they created. They found another planet upon which to seek refuge, naming it Solace. They settled down there and started to rebuild. However, the Nightsithe eventually found them. Now the Tono Gian people must fight back if they do not wish to fall to the Nightsithe.

The game was founded on Kickstarter on March 27th, 2016. It was released in Early Access on Steam on November 20th, 2017.

Nelo contains examples of:

  • Beehive Barrier: The Nightsithe are capable of generating a red spherical shield with this pattern around themselves to protect themselves from attack.
  • Checkpoint: You know you've reached one when you see the word "Checkpoint" flashing in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • One-Word Title: Nelo, naturally.
  • Protagonist Title: Nelo is the name of the Player Character.
  • Time Skip: After the first level, when the screen Fades To Black, the words "Two Months Later" show up on the screen.
