Sydney Hunter and the Shrines of Peril is a Homebrew Video Game for the Intellivision by CollectorVision Entertainment Games. It is the second game in the Sydney Hunter series.

The player needs to guide Sydney Hunter through a series of screens with enemies in them to reach the shrine at the end and collect the treasure that's resting on top before time runs out. Once that happens, the game starts over from the beginning, and the player gets to do it all over again.

The game was released in 2014.

Sydney Hunter and the Shrines of Peril contains examples of:

  • Always Night: The sky in the game is always shown dark blue.
  • Character Name and the Noun Phrase: Sydney Hunter {Character Name) And The Shrines (And The Noun) Of Peril (Phrase).
  • Creepy Cemetery: This is one of the locations Sydney goes through to get to the shrine.
  • Feathered Fiend: Birds are an enemy in the game. They can be either ducked under, or jumped over.
  • Giant Spider: The spiders in the game come up to Sydney's neck.
  • No Plot? No Problem!: Yeah, there's not really a plot in this game. It's just Sydney going through a bunch of places to get to the titular shrines.
  • One-Hit-Point Wonder: Sydney. Contact with any hazard costs him one life and sends him back to the start of whatever screen he was on.
  • Retraux: Naturally, seeing as it's a Homebrew Game for the Intellivision. It's got 8-bit graphics and chiptune sounds.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Snakes are an enemy encountered in the game. They stay where they are, but touching one costs Sydney a life.
  • Timed Mission: Each screen has a time limit that removes one life whenever it runs out.
