Spy Hunter 2 is the sequel to SpyHunter (2001), developed and published by Midway Games. It was released for the Playstation 2 and the Xbox in 2003 for North America and 2004 for Europe.

Alec is ordered by the International Espionage Services (IES) to take down the remnants of NOSTRA after Dameon's killed. In Russia, he's tasked with getting a NOSTRA defector named Vladimir Polvac to safety in order to be debriefed about the MegaCorp. He's later backed up by fellow IES agent Vanessa Duvelle.

Spy Hunter 2 provides examples of:

  • Disposable Vehicle Section: The Interceptor in the game can also convert as an escape vehicle on player command.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Duvalle is based on singer Vanessa Carlton, who was interviewed about providing music to the game and said that she was interested to compose music related to the spy fiction genre.
  • Magnetic Weapons: In Spy Hunter 2 it's restricted to a forward arc but still powerful.
  • More Dakka: The machine gun will eventually upgrade to a version that uses pulse lasers instead of bullets and you access a new weapon in the form of micromissile launchers which have higher damage but smaller magazine capacity than the machine guns. In 2-player co-op mode, the second player controls a minigun turret on the roof of the Interceptor.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Agent Duvelle in Spy Hunter 2, in the opening cutscene with her midriff-baring outfit.
  • Sequel Hook: The game ends with Alec and Duvelle ordered to go on a mission in Los Angeles.
