Go To

Hypno's Lullaby is a Creepypasta ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed.

Professor Oak needs your help to find his missing grandson. Can you find him in Berry Forest, the forest where children go missing? Can you survive the danger of a wild and uncontrolled Hypno? Can anyone else?

Not to be confused with Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby, which was based off of this hack and a few other Pokemon creepypastas.

This game contains examples of:

  • And I Must Scream: The ultimate fate of the protagonist if they fail to defeat Hypno, being trapped in a dream for all eternity while Hypno eats away at their mind.
  • Big Bad: Hypno.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The hidden ending, where you successfully run away with Lostelle from Hypno. However, you still never find Oak's grandson.
  • Cruelty Is the Only Option: To beat the game, you must kill brainwashed children.
  • Death of a Child: The player character kills children...
  • Deconstruction: It turns out Pokemon moves and status effects actually affect humans as well. Also, wild Pokemon can be very dangerous.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: Hypno is level 100 while your Pokemon are level 25; the fight goes as well as you expect. The "good ending" is where you just run away instead and Hypno simply gives up without chasing after you.
  • Missing Child: Children going missing, being forced to hurt and kill other children, and being trapped in one place far from society forever.
  • No Ending: Subverted, it seems like there is no ending, but talking to Hypno in the final room reveals Hypno is eating your dreams and the other NPCs tell you throughout the last parts of the game that you are trapped in a dream.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: The good ending is achieved by simply choosing to run away instead of fighting Hypno. Hypno just gives up Lostelle, she breaks out of her trance and is taken home.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: You're sent on this mission to save Professor Oak's grandson. You never do find him, regardless of whether or not you defeat Hypno, and he's never mentioned again. The major implication being that Hypno got him.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Hypno would brainwash children and make them fight for him. To progress in the game and survive, you are forced to make Pokemon attack children and this kills them. Their spirits do not forget this.
