Tropes:

  • Adaptational Badass: In "Epic Rap Battle of History", Eminem manages to survive his rap battle against Slenderman, unlike the Eminem of the original Tiktok that inspired the song, where he gets killed by Slenderman's presence.
  • Adaptational Modesty: Girlfriend's outfit in this mod is a jacket, shirt, and pants instead of her usual dress, though her bosom is visible through the top of her shirt.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Like in his story of origin, Gold loses his arms and legs. He's clearly distressed when his arms suddenly vanish during "Champion Battle", and by the next song, what's left of his arms and legs are bloody stumps.
  • Art Shift: For the last minute of "Sight", Boyfriend and Slender Man change into a cruder style that resembles pencil drawings, emulating the pages from the Slender Man games.
  • Baby Sitter Friendship: In this mod's universe, Jeff was Girlfriend's babysitter when she was a kid, and they got along just fine, enough that the events of the mod kick off because years later in her adulthood, she reaches out to him and invites him to meet Boyfriend.
  • Badass in Distress: During "Sight", Girlfriend, a demon with the potential to wipe out an entire army according to Word of God, is tied up by Masky and Hoodie. Justified, however, since, before that, she used her demon powers to heal Boyfriend after he got slashed by Jeff in the previous week, and she only managed to recover her magic by the point of the 3rd week, so by that point, she wasn't as strong as she would've usually been.
  • Battle Amongst the Flames: In "Endless Nightmare", the trees in the background suddenly catch fire, and Jeff appears more insane while Boyfriend is still pulling through the song after getting stabbed.
  • The Blank: Slender Man has a blank white face, with only wrinkles in his skin giving the impression of facial structure.
  • Bloody Smile: In line with Jeff the Killer being a psychotic killer, his constant Slasher Smile is stained with blood at the teeth and around his mouth.
  • But Thou Must!: Gold's week starts with Boyfriend and Girlfriend in a Pokémon world after being sucked into a Gameboy. There is a sign to walk the two towards which gives a Yes/No question: "Would you like to continue?" Choosing "No" just takes you back to the same place you started, while "Yes" lets you proceed.
  • Dual Boss: Masky and Hoodie are fought together in "Tresspasser".
  • Evil Laugh: Gold (ironically enough) bellows out three deep echoey cackles with a Ghostly Gape during "Uncertain Demise".
  • The Faceless: Masky and Hoodie's faces are always covered; Masky wears his mask all the time while Hoodie's face is covered in black with red eyes and a mouth over it.
  • Facial Horror: This Man's face contorts freakily when singing in "Dream This Guy", his eyes can stretch over his entire face and change color while his mouth can gape to the extent of a Ghostly Gape.
  • Flunky Boss: In "Uncertain Demise", Gold is backed up by his Cyndaquil and Celebi, who attempt to attack Boyfriend throughout the song. Celebi also backs up Gold in the fight against Red and his Pikachu in "No Head Red".
  • Glamour Failure: A minor case, but when Girlfriend uses her demonic powers to heal Boyfriend after Jeff slashed him, her skin turns purple, and her eyes become red with black sclerae like her parents before reverting back when she's done.
  • Lean and Mean: Slender Man, as his name suggests, is a very slender (and very tall) Humanoid Abomination.
  • Musical Nod:
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Jeff says his classic Character Catchphrase "Go to sleep" at the end of "Lullaby". In the context of the song, since Jeff's babysitting Girlfriend, he's literally telling her to go to sleep.
    • Slender Man's introductory cutscene uses the infamous static from his games.
    • Gold's week takes place inside of Bellsprout Tower, a nod to the original Lost Silver.
    • Gold's Celebi appears cut in half, like in Lost Silver.
  • Off with His Head!: Red from "No Head Red" is missing his head, yet he's still standing (and singing).
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Boyfriend drops his cocky smile after getting stabbed by Jeff at the end of "Endless Sleep", and Girlfriend becomes frightened when the background bursts into flames in "Endless Nightmare".
  • Promoted to Playable: Gold (originally an opponent) in "No Head Red" and Girlfriend (originally just in the background) as a baby in "Lullaby".
  • Psycho Knife Nut: Jeff the Killer is always seen holding a knife, and he uses it to attack Boyfriend in "Endless Nightmare" and the cutscene preceding it.
  • Slasher Smile: Jeff, as usual, has an insanely large (and likely carved) grin on his face. It's even stained with blood like his knife and clothes.
  • Shout-Out: One of the bonus songs is titled Epic Rap Battle Of History. The song itself is a nod to a fanmade TikTok rap battle that pits Slender Man against Eminem.
  • Token Good Teammate: Gold is the only opponent in the mod who isn't malevolent, instead being a kid who suffers an unfortunate fate. He simply wants to beat Boyfriend in a Pokémon battle and expresses no desire to harm him.
  • Wipe That Smile Off Your Face: After Gold is reduced to his head, his mouth disappears (but he is still capable of singing one last song before Boyfriend and Girlfriend leave the game.).
