Now with one fewer exclamation point!

Everybody Edits Universe is the second installment of the Everybody Edits series of Level Editor games. Because of the depreciation of Adobe Flash, it was decided Everybody Edits Flash would need a successor, and Everybody Edits Universe was the result.

The most obvious change from Everybody Edits Flash is the new vector graphics, allowing for more crisp graphics at higher resolutions. It also introduces zones, which can be used to mark parts of levels with special functionality. A planned feature was Character Customization for the player's smileys, but as the game's development was canceled, this is only What Could Have Been.

The game entered a private Beta Test in 2019, with beta players of Everybody Edits Flash being given access to the game. While the game is still playable for those who opted in, there are no plans to open the game to the public, as development has been redirected towards a new game, Everybody Edits!.

The game's soundtrack, written by Ravatroll, has been released as an album named Universe.

Everybody Edits Universe contains examples of:

  • Christmas Songs: The song used in the Game Lobby around Christmas, "Christmas Quest" is a medley of "Jingle Bells", "Carol of the Bells", "Deck the Halls", and "Joy to the World".
  • Dilating Door: Here, doors have a swirl pattern, made of six segments that quickly slide open.
  • Directionally Solid Platforms: One-way blocks reappear in this game. Here, they can always be entered from the side, and they can all be rotated in four directions.
  • Halloween Songs: Around Halloween, the spooky track "Ritual Quest" played in the Game Lobby. It features an Ominous Pipe Organ, woodwind, a tuba, a pulsing string section, a tambourine, and an xylophone.
  • Level Goal: In this installment, the gold crown block is repurposed as the Level Goal.
  • Loading Screen: The loading screen is more minimalist in this game, just having a small text describing the content being loaded in the bottom left corner.
  • Ominous Pipe Organ: "Ritual Quest", the spooky music played around Halloween begins with a pipe organ.
  • Snowy Sleigh Bells: "Christmas Quest", the music used around Christmastime uses sleigh bells to invoke the sound of Christmas.
