The most obvious change from ''Everybody Edits Flash'' was the [[ArtEvolution new vector graphics]], allowing the game to be scalable at higher resolutions. It also introduced zones, which could be used to mark parts of levels with special functionality. A planned feature was CharacterCustomization for the player's [[DigitalAvatar smileys]], but as the game's development was canceled, this is only WhatCouldHaveBeen.

The game entered a private beta in 2019, with beta players of ''Everybody Edits Flash'' being given access to the game. While the game is still playable for beta players, there are no plans to open the game to the public, as development has been redirected towards a new game, ''Everybody Edits!''.
