A Beauty and the Beast (Disney) game by Probe Entertainment and Hudson Soft, based on the 1991 animated film and released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994. An 8-bit version was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in Europe.

The game follows the plot of the movie, mostly from the point of view of the Beast. The player controls the Beast in a 2D side-scrolling action game, as he explores various levels with the mission to find his true love and break the spell before his rose withers. Explore the castle and the woods, the magical library, battle fierce enemies, and search for Belle in the castle. Can you help the Beast break the spell before its too late?

The game is a 2D action platformer where the player controls the Beast through levels based on settings from the movie. Beast has many tools at his disposal, he can use his brute strength to battle foes, climb objects, and a powerful roar that reveals objects and stuns enemies in place, allowing the Beast to jump on them to reach higher areas.

The game features renditions of the movie's soundtrack, and many of the film's recognizable characters.

This game contains examples of:

  • Cranium Ride: Enemies frozen with the Beast's Roar can be leaped upon and used a platforms.
  • Demoted to Extra: Belle isn't overly involved in this game, appearing in just a few stages, as well as the bonus round.
