Best Friend Forever is a lighthearted Virtual Pet/Dating Sim game has you, the player character, moving to Rainbow Bay to start a new life through adopting a dog, and hopefully finding love.
You can choose between Titan (a Maltese), Blocker (a Mutt), Cheeseball (a Shiba Inu), and Cardigan (a Stadffordshire) as your companion.

This game includes examples of:
- Bland-Name Product: "Woofr" is an obvious parody of Tinder.
- Canine Companion: Pretty much everyone in Rainbow Bay, including you, have one of these.
- Player Personality Quiz: You answer questions on Woofr to determine your profile, but it turns out to be meaningless anyway because you will run into all of your potential suitors sooner or later.
- Press X to Not Die: Quicktime events involving your dog, such as petting them and picking up their poop, will require you to act fast lest they suffer a mood drop.
