Batman: The Animated Series is a side-scrolling action Gameboy game developed and published for North American and European release by Konami in November 1993.

The game takes place before Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent gets turned into Two-Face in the episodes "Two-Face, Part 1" and "Two-Face, Part 2"; there are five stages in total. While most of the time you play as Batman, there will be opportunities to play Robin. Batman uses a grappling hook to scale heights while Robin walks across ceilings. Batman uses batarangs while Robin sticks to a slingshot. However, both characters can perform wall jumps.

Batman and Robin faces against the Joker, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, the Riddler and the Penguin.

Batman: The Animated Series contains examples of:

  • Bank Robbery: Riddler and the Joker team up to conduct bank heists in Gotham City in Episode 4.
  • Battle Boomerang: Only Batman uses the batarang as a hurled weapon.
  • Book Ends: The Joker is the first and last antagonist of the game.
  • Boss-Only Level: The Joker's machine is the only enemy faced in the last level.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: The Joker starts the game by gloating about his plan with the Teddy Bears to Batman.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: When taking out a Mook in Episode 1, they blow up instead of falling to the ground.
  • Final Boss: The player fights the Joker's machine after the Batwing gets shot down.
  • Man-Eating Plant: Poison Ivy uses a venus flytrap to prevent Batman from getting to her in Episode 3.
  • Stuff Blowing Up:
    • Most of the Mooks in Episode 1 (and Joker) use explosives hidden in teddy bears.
    • The Scarecrow in Episode 2 uses explosives hidden in pumpkins, which he throws at Robin.
  • Wall Jump: Batman and Robin jump between the walls to travel upward.
