Batman Returns is a 1992 Beat 'em Up game developed and published by Atari, which is only used by the Atari Lynx. It follows the same plot as the movie.

According to game producer John Skruch, he and some of the staff members had to work overtime to make sure the game can be released at the same time when the movie was released to theaters.

The Lynx version of Batman Returns contains examples of:

  • The Blade Always Lands Pointy End In: Female Red Triangle Circus gang members hurl throwing knives at Batman.
  • Diving Kick: Catwoman can fight Batman by using jump kicks on him during her boss fight.
  • Monster Clown: Red Triangle Circus gang members on motorbikes fight Batman by ramming their motorbikes at him in the first stage.
  • Recurring Boss: The Penguin is fought in the first and last stages as a recurring boss.
  • Rooftop Confrontation: The second stage has Batman face off against pursuing Gotham City Police officers (which didn't happen in the movie) before he faces Catwoman as the boss. He also has to contend with some Red Triangle Circus gang members, who sometimes fight Batman while the police fight him too.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Batman faces against Red Triangle Circus gang members who do throw bombs at him on occasions.
